We were disappointed that the property was not what we envisioned from the pictures and write-up. The view is of a water park with mountains in the background. The unit is very dated with lots of wood rot on the deck and trim. The drive up appeal was unpleasant with piles of cigarette butts and other trash. Also, lots of trash below the deck. All electric plugs in the 3 bathrooms did not work and fuse box could not help. The hot tub looks like it had not been cleaned in a long time, so we did not use it.This is the worst rental we have made through VRBO. I would not recommend this property.
Owner response:This guest arrived before check-in time and the cabin had not been cleaned yet. Things went downhill from there. We will let the reviews from previous guests speak for themselves. The cabin is EXACTLY as we represent in the photos; the kitchen cabinets and appliances were replaced 4 years ago, and we have spent over $40,000 in other renovations. This cabin was built in the early 1980's and we plan several renovations every year. Our next project will be to renovate the bathrooms. As you can see from our reviews, most guests say that our views are FANTASTIC!

I thought this home provided a truly comfortable and relaxing stay with its great view, furnishings, and fireplace and the layout of the house was great for the family. Simple pleasures like having morning coffee on the desk and watching the skiers was a great experience and not something you get to do everyday. We are strongly considering coming back!

"Its all about the view" says it all. Mt LeConte Vista met our expectations. The condo was well equipped with all the necessary cooking utensils and cook ware. The condo was furnished with comfortable, feel at home furniture. Weather was outstanding. Only thing missing was the snow. (Had a dusting) Val and Renee were easy to work with, and we would definitely stay again at the Mt LeConte Vista.

Had a great time at Mt. LeConte Vista last weekend. The chalet was very nice and roomy. The kitchen was stocked with everything you could need. (There was only 2 of us but the kitchen was equipped to accomodate a large crowd.) The view is absolutely beautiful. Would love to be there when the ski slopes were active. My husband very much enjoyed the suana. We saw a bear as we were making our way home one night. It crossed the road right in front of us.The drive up the mountain is absolutely breath taking it is so pretty. We were celebrating our 40th Wedding Anniversary so this trip was special for us. We were not disappointed and would recommend this chalet to anyone!

We just returned from a long weekend in the Gatlinburg area. This chalet is exactly as described, the location was perfect. I do have to agree that the Ski Mtn. Rd. was very steep but the view was great! The chalet was clean and well maintained. We arrived to find it snowing which was a plus for us. The roads are cleared very quickly so you can go into downtown Gatlinburg or wherever you had planned to go. The view from this chalet was absolutely outstanding. You can see forever! Val was extremely helpful with directions to the chalet as well as suggesting restaurants and activities to do while you are there. We would recommend this property to our friends.

This is our second trip to the mountains and we had a wonderful time at the chalet. The views were gorgeous and the chalet had everything we needed for a family vacation. We had tons of seating for family dinners, with ample plates and silverware. That is hard to find at rentals! Each room has its own tv and that also afforded us alone time if necessary. Great trip!

This is a lovely property with beautiful views. If you did nothing but relax and enjoy the scenery, you would be satisfied. For those who enjoy a little more action, skiing and snowboarding is minutes away. Note of things to bring: firestarter logs, lighter, dishwasher detergent, and frying pan.
Owner response:Deborah, We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay at Mt LeConte Vista. The views are amazing!! And, thank you for letting us know that the frying pans were missing. During our recent trip to the cabin, we added a new set of stainless steel pots, a new griddle and 2 new frying pans. We appreciate it when guests let us know what items are missing or need to be replaced.

We arrived on Sat January 8th, and were welcomed by 12”’s of snow, which was a great surprise. We used our Garmin, which took use us via a nerve reckoning route. I suggest anyone going up while it is snowing, take Ski Mountain Road, then right on Willey Oakley Road. Make a sharp hairpin turn left onto Sky View Drive. It is a few more miles out of the way, but Gatlinburg keeps the roads treated throughout the day, from 8AM – 9PM daily, which makes going up and down the mountain less stressful. The views are amazing, and you feel like you’re on top of the world looking down. You have amazing views overlooking the Ski Resort, the Gatlinburg Tram, and downtown Gatlinburg. It was a true relaxing stay. The house was great, with views from every room, a well maintained Hot Tub, and Dry Sauna. Sunday evening it snowed another 6”’s, and by mid week, we had a total of 2 feet of snow, but the roads were always treated and 90% clean. The house was well equipped with everything that you’d need, even a Snow Shovel. We are definitely planning on returning to this property again, and checking out the other properties that are owned by Sea & Sky Rentals in Gatlinburg. The owner(s) were extremely easy to work with and communicate with. Their contract(s) are straight forward and self explanatory. I’d refer this property to anyone who enjoys relaxing, breathing taking views. Thanks for everything Val & Renee

We just returned from a fantastic week at Mt LeConte Vista. The floorplan was perfect for our family and offered plenty of space for those who like to sleep in - but why would they with the amazing sunrise views each day???!!! As the weather changed, we were treated to fog rolling in over the ridges and then settling in the valley below. The full moon over Mt LeConte was especially spectacular, too!!! Everything about the chalet is "as advertised" with no surprises. Level off-street parking was very nice especially considering the location. Plenty of opportunity for a quick workout walking the hills each morning. It was a quick drive down to the tram for an easy and fun ride into town - avoiding any parking hassles. Beware of the calzones at The Best Italian restaurant - they are HUGE (but delicious)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We would definitely recommend the property!!! Thanks for sharing it with us!

We found the Mt LeConte Vista chalet to be everything that we had expected. The property itself was clean and well maintained. The views were magnificent. The pictures on the internet depicted the property well, and the owners were extremely helpful. I would highly recommend this property if you are looking for a nice place to stay in the Gatlinburg area.

We had a fantastic time staying at the cabin! It is tucked away up the mountain from Gatlinburg, but very easy to get to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, or the Smokey Mtn Ntl Park. Our kids had a great time exploring the house, and we really enjoyed the deck with the beautiful view. The deck was perfect for grilling and we had nightly visits from a family of racoons that would play on the deck. A small black bear even offered to help me take out the trash, but I decided to wait and do it on my own after he had moved on. The hot tub was perfect after a day of hiking. The views from everywhere in the house were breathtaking. The owners were super easy to work with and our arrival and departure were seamless without ever having to go check in or out with the keyless entry. They also gave us tips on where to buy groceries and we saved a lot of money just cooking at the chalet. The wi fi was super fast and allowed us to easily send pictures to friends and family. We used all the pool facilities and the kids enjoyed them all.

Very much enjoyed our stay during our recent visit to the Smoky Mountains. The place was very nice and quite roomy, accommodated 8 people very well. Enjoyed the spectacular view and fairly easy access to many nearby attractions. We very much enjoyed visiting a couple of the nearby caverns, a day trip to the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC, a white water rafting adventure, a Smoky Mountain train ride, horseback riding in the National Park, 2 days of Dollywood and Dollywood's Splash Country, and a couple of quick visits to the Gatlinburg night life! The sites were breath taking, the food was great, and fun was had by all... even the teenagers!

I first want to say, thank you to Val for such an easy rental experience. The chalet was just as beautiful as the pictures on the website. We had a great time sitting on the deck and taking in the views of the Smokies. We used the hot tube and the were so glad for the internet access(this made finding attractions so much easier). The beds were comfortable and the chalet was clean and we had no issues with any of the appliances. We would recommend this place to everyone who wants a mountain getaway. The drive up the hill is a little spookey at first but you get used to the mountain driving fast. We went to Dollywood, hiked to Laurel Falls, went tubing at River Rampage(I would not recommend for those with kids under 8), rode the Tram up to Ober Gatlinburg(great place for kids and adults)...our favorite restuarants were, Bennetts BBQ, The Old MIll Restaurant(we went twice)...actually everywhere including Dollywood had incredible food. Again, thank you guys for making our first experience in Gatlinburg such a pleasant and memorable one...we will definitely be back in a couple of years. Bill and Wendy

My family spent the week of June 13th in this great cabin and we really enjoyed our stay. The cabin is way up the mountain and the views are spectacular. The cabin was very comfortable and felt just like home the entire week. Close to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, thi si the place to stay if you need room to stretch out. We took our dogs along with the approval of the owner and Val was very easy to work with and very responsive to my questions and requests. I will not hesitate to check out other properties from Sea and Sky when planning vacations in the future. The highlight of the week was watching a bear explore the Oberg parking lot early one morning.

June 2010 our family and several friends stayed in the chalet for a week and it was simply wonderful. The chalet does indeed have incredible views and the decor is very nice, (my husband and I found it amazing that the large oil painting in the stairwell of the hot air balloons is almost identical to one we have on our living room wall.) The parking was a bit small but we had several vehicles and a trailer so it was to be expected. Getting to the chalet is half the fun, the drive by motorcycle was quite an experience at night but the views more than made up for it. We really enjoy motorcycling through the area and make a point to ride "The Dragon" each time we are there. This time on a ride through Cades Cove we were stuck in a "bear jam" as everyone stopped to take photos of a momma bear and her 3 cubs, along with various other wildlife wandering the area. We were able to get some photos of my dad standing on the deck when we visited Ober Gatlinburg, again what a view!!!!! The chalet had just about everything we needed aside from the various sundry items, like detergent, salt and pepper, coffee, etc, things you would normally bring anyway. Val and Renee were great to work with and easy to get in touch with if you have a problem. We will definitely return if we have the occasion to rent a larger cabin and have recommended the site to our friends. If your feeling adventurous ride a motorcycle around the area and the Smoky mountains, it's simply beautiful. We want to come back and go zip lining again, it was a blast! Simply put you cannot go wrong if you rent this chalet, it is well worth it!

We stayed at Mt LeConte Vista Dec 11-14. We go to Gburg every year and this is the BEST chalet we have ever stayed in!! The view from EVERY room is breathtaking!! Ski season opened on Friday and we hated to leave the chalet because we were so entertained from watching the skiers from our own windows. We cooked dinner 2 nights and breakfast every morning. The kitchen was excellently stocked. The beds were very comfortable. Plenty of towels, toilet paper, etc. Thanks, Val, for the recommendation of The Best Italian restaurant. We tried it Sunday night and it was excellent! Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this chalet and we will hope to be able to rent it again next year. We will tell all of our friends how great it was! Val was very easy to work with. The whole rental process was simple and went exactly like it was supposed to. Ya'll really have a great chalet. We had a great family vacation here and the view is wonderful. We enjoyed the hot tub and the rest of the wonderful features that are provided. The only problem we had was that the cleaners did not show up to clean until 4:10 pm and they did not have the code to enter the house. We will definately consider returning here for vacation. Val and Renee were great to work with. We did this type of vacation last year at Myrtle Beach and the owner called me every day. I would love to see this place during the winter.

Cabin was a little older than i thought it would be, but it had character and we absolutely loved the view. Val & Ranee were very easy to work with. With so much to do around the area, we were at the chalet only in the mornings and evenings but enjoyed the time we were there. The hot tub needs to be updated or at least in working order. I enjoy a good evening in a hot tub after a day of activity. We didnt see any bears but did manage to see some wild turkeys and bobcats on our drive to Cades Cove. It takes some getting used to if you have never driven up and down a mountain on a daily basis, so there was a little adjustment that had to be made as far as getting used to using low gear in the minivan. Overall we had such a good time and would reccomend the chalet to others as a good place to relax and unwind. They clearly have done thier homework as it seemed anything we needed was already at the chalet and we didnt have to buy anything. Will definetly be back!
Owner response:As with all rentals, it is impossible to keep everything working 100% of the time. However, we want to assure our guests that when things break it is our TOP priority to get the item repaired ASAP. This guest was at the cabin for 4 nights with no issues. The hot tub issue arose on Sunday. We tried to get a repairman out on Sunday but were unable to do so. A repairman did go to the cabin first thing Monday morning and had the hot tub fixed (new motor, impeller, etc) the same day. We really pride ourselves on keeping everything in our properties in working order.

We stayed at Mt. LeConte Vista from July 12 to July 19, 2008. Within the first 15 minutes of arriving we saw a beautiful black bear peaking his head through the trees right below the deck!!! We were so excited...it was as if he was just stopping by to welcome us!!!!! The house was beautiful...anything you could possibly need was provided!!! The home was large enough that we all had plenty of room for ourselves and everyone felt they had privacy as well... We took advantage of the 2 community pools that were available...They were both very nice and not far from the house...It was definitely a great experience spending our vacation there and Val and Renee were wonderful to deal with...Their main concern is that their guests have everything they need and that they enjoy their stay! We would definitely recommend staying here at Mt. LeConte Vista!!!! Wow! Our second stay at your chalet and we again had a wonderful stay. This time around we were greeted with black bears foraging below. Each night they returned between 7pm to 8pm. We referred to their time of arrival as "Bear-thirty". With us this time were our parents and oldest daughter and her boyfriend who did not make the trip with us the first time. The views are so breathtaking, that on July 22nd at sunrise there was a proposal for marriage on the balcony! Hoping to make it next year! Thanks for being so accomadating and great to deal with too! Will sent pics of the bears as soon as we can.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at Mt.Leconte Vista. This is one of the most peaceful settings on the mountain and offers a great view. Val and Renay are most infomative with any questions and very responsive. We look forward to our next stay.

Thank you for letting us stay in your Mt. Leconte Vista Chalet. The views are absolutely Beautiful. the chalet was very clean and we loved the hot tub and sauna. We usually go to Gatlinburg 2 or 3 times a year with family and we will definately be staying with you again. Thanks Val and Renee for letting us stay on such short notice.

Dec.12,2007 We stayed in Mt.Leconte Vista from Dec.5th thru the 8th. We had a wonderful time,,the house is beautiful and the view is beyond belief. I have already booked my visit next year. We actually got to see some snow flakes and the ski slopes were full of man-made snow,,what a picture to wake up to every morning. My family was thrilled with the house,,the best vacation yet. Val and Renee thank you for sharing your wonderful home. Can't wait for next year. Wanda and Charles Pinyan and Family Alabama
