The house is in an authentic Mexican neighborhood. Fifteen minute flat walk to El Centro; 15 minute walk to major artistic institutions and the new Aurora Center. The neighborhood contains two of San Miguel's best restaurants.
San Miguel is a small colonial city, friendly and welcoming. This house is a gem, decorated by two artists, full of unique folk art. The neighborhood is quiet, safe and comfortable. THE WATER IS CENTRALLY PURIFIED - a big plus.
There is an entrance courtyard with eating space, art, and lush plants. The house is light and airy with ceiling fans in every room to keep it cool in the summer. The textiles throughout the house were lovingly chosen by the owner who is a professor of textiles.
Off the living room is a small study equipped with high speed internet access plus a Vonage phone which allows free calls to the United States and Canada. There is a half bath and a washing machine on the first floor.
The kitchen is fully equipped with cabinets hand-painted with Mexican fruits and vegetables. A very special feature that comes with the house is Lupe who comes three times a week. A gourmet cook and maid, she will shop and prepare any food of your choice - Mexican or other.
Upstairs, the master bedroom joins a bathroom and a terrace with plants and a small eating space. From the bedroom window there is a beautiful city-scape which includes views of the Parroquia and Las Monjas. The second and third bedrooms share a bath with a separate entrance to the terrace. A roof top covered patio allows a 180 degree view of the town and surrounding area.
You can easily walk to churches, shopping, restaurants, the new Aurora Complex, library and art institutions. Inexpensive taxis and buses are also available nearby.
