The Pineapple Retreat is located in Michigan City's acclaimed Beachwalk Resort Community. Beachwalk hosts a variety of things to do. We have our own private Lake Kai, beach volleyball, heated swimming pool, playground for the kids, tennis courts, basketball court, putting green, and park. Located on the shore of Lake Kai, we have a Cafe where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner if you don't feel like cooking in our gourmet kitchen. Beachwalk offers concerts in the summer along with a craft show on the weekends.
The Pineapple Retreat has a master bedroom, king-size bed, adjoining bath, and private balcony. The second bedroom has a queen-size bed with adjoining bath. The third bedroom has two sets of bunk beds, and the fourth bedroom has bunk beds with a full bottom and twin top. The first floor has a living room with a queen sofa bed and full size futon, dining room seating for four, island seating for five, kitchen table seating for six, and table on screened-in porch which seats four. We have provided for all your needs by including a hair dryer in each bathroom, a high chair, a stroller, picnic basket, army beach blanket, and beach chairs.
You can walk to Lake Michigan and Sheridan Beach, just one half block away from the Pineapple. On Sheridan Beach you can enjoy swimming, windsurfing, jet-skiing, sailing, fishing, and watching the sunset over the Chicago Skyline. Other attractions in the Michigan City area include Washington Park, a 90-acre public park for walks and family gatherings, and Washington Park Zoo, both within five minutes of Beachwalk.
There is the Barker Mansion to visit, the Old Lighhouse Museum, Four Winds Casino in New Buffalo, The Blue Chip Casino, and the Lighthouse Outlet Mall, all within a short drive of Beachwalk. Fine dining and family dining can be found in Michigan City as well as the surrounding areas. We are just 22 miles from the Notre Dame Football Games in South Bend, Indiana and 68 miles from Chicago. Our home is great for family vacations, family reunions, or business meetings.
Just outside of Michigan City is the Indiana Dunes National Lake Shore and State Park, which has 8,500 acres of bogs, coastlines, forests, and Mount Baldy. Activities at the State Park include hiking, biking, picnicking, and walking. The Pineapple Retreat provides putters and golf balls, basketball, tennis rackets and tennis balls, and volleyballs. No Pets allowed and No Smoking. Available Year Round.

Our family has been coming to Beachwalk for several years, Pineapple retreat has been the absolute best experience we have had. BEAUTIFUL home and owners are SO nice and accomodating. My family and I just returned home from our vacation at The Pineapple Retreat and all we can talk about is how we wish we were still there! The house was amazing. My 4 year old niece even said it was beautiful :) There is so much fun stuff to do there. We enjoyed the basketball court and playground a few houses down and there was also a really cool playground for the kids that we found at the back of the community. We loved having the beach so close. It was only about a 5 minute walk, if that. The house had everything we needed, including basketballs, beach toys for the kids, a wagon, booster seat and so much more! I can't say enough good things about this home. My family and I will definitely be back!

We had a wonderful stay at the Pineapple Retreat. It's located in the perfect location in Beachwalk - near the pool and beach. Additionally, it's great for kids as there are plenty of bunk beds and three separate sand areas so the kids can play as you are getting dinner going. It is very well stocked with every imagineable appliance, gadget, and more. Our family particularly enjoyed the porch swing.

We rented the Pineapple Retreat for my family (3 separate families) who came in for a wedding. It was perfect! Not only was it clean, well maintained and spacious, but it was beautiful and had a great location. The 4 boys (all under age 8) loved the beach, the nearby lake, and playing in the sand. The kitchen was well equipped and there were plenty of tables & chairs for everybody. Our experience was fantastic - no complaints at all!

We had my sister's bachelorette party at the Pineapple Retreat in late June 2011 and had a great time! Our plan was for the 8 of us girls to spend a relaxing weekend at the home and that's exactly what we did. The house was furnished with everything we needed - the fridge was even stocked with condiments and things we needed to complete our meals! The first floor of the house is open and perfect for a large get-together like this. We enjoyed sitting on the porch swing in the front with our glasses of wine, and having breakfast on the screened in patio out back. It was only a 5 minute walk to the beach, less than 5 minutes to the pool, and very close driving distance to wineries, shopping and restaurants! The house had everything we were looking for and we had a great time. See you next year, Pineapple Retreat!

I had never been to the beach walk before so I went in completely blind. We went with 2 other families and had a total of 5 toddlers. I loved this house because it was a half a block walk to the pool in one direction and if you went a block the other direction you would be at the beach. The front yard was a huge sandbox that the kids loved. There was also a great screened in porch in the back. This house had everything you would need and had everything we forgot. I highly recommend this and the family was great to work with.

The Pineapple Retreat was the perfect spot for our weekend mini-reunion of eight siblings from Indiana, Wisconsin, and Missouri. The house was roomy and impeccable with lots of welcoming features, starting with a fresh pineapple sitting on the kitchen island. Everything we needed was right at hand, and one of the best Lake Michigan beaches (Washington Park, Michigan City) is a short walk from the front door. We would definitely return to the Pineapple Retreat.

Our family had a wonderful vacation staying at the Pineapple Retreat. It is a beautiful and spacious house that is very well stocked. We loved having two porches and the location to the beach and pool. We love Beachwalk community. Our favorite resturants are Redamax and Straydog.
