All 6 us of arrived early in the afternoon to find this great end unit townhouse just a short walk to the beach. We found the location terrific with a nice hillside overlook to the ocean. With 3 bedrooms our married adult children had there own with my wife and I in the master suite and our own upstairs deck where I had to deliver refills of coffee each morning to the Diva I married! Layout is open and lends well to storage of surfboards, kicking off sandals etc.Loads of space. Nice interior furnishings with a fold out bed in the living room for whoever was out of favor at the time. Sure appreciated the Dishwasher and huge fridge. We loved it here and would return in a new york minute

This property, while having amazing views, was a disappointment. It has great potential but is in need of attention. When we arrived, the AC in the master bedroom was broken (and although we emailed and called owners right away) was never fixed or even looked at in the 11 days we were there. This was not a big problem the first 3 nights as the trade winds were pumping, but the remainder of our stay the winds were calm and the master bedroom was stifling at night. Additionally, upon our arrival there were numerous lightbulbs out, the most problematic being the kitchen fixture where only 1 out of 4 bulbs were working. These were floodlights and though we asked owners to replace them, again, no one showed up during our stay making the kitchen dark and almost impossible to cook in after dark. The lanais have stunning views, and were the saving grace of this condo. Unfortunately the deck furniture was old, cheap, and filthy. Finally, the condo had some bug infestation problems including cockroaches, bees, and lizards. All in all, we found this condo to be extremely disappointing, and it almost ruined our vacation. We have used VRBO numerous times on the big island and on Kauai, and also stateside. We have never been disappointed before, so it was shock to encounter a condo like this one. With updated deck furniture, and living room furniture, a SERIOUS deep clean, a working AC in all rooms, and a good exterminator, this condo would be great. As it was, it was a huge disappointment, and the owners, who had been so nice and thoughtful in the months leading up to our trip, completely refused to reply to any of our concerns once we were on Maui, and since we have been home.
Owner response:Well I guess you cant please everyone.. The A/C has been replaced just in case.. The two burnt out light bulbs as well. The condo association fumigates every 3 months to deal with bugs. The condo is cleaned very well after each use as that is what the $200 cleaning fee is for. We have had a carefull look over everything and all seems fine at this point as of April 25, 2012 We are sorry these folks did not have a good experience.

We really liked this condo! My wife and I along with 3 friends shared the condo for a week to attend a wedding. The location, just uphill from a nice and uncrowded beach, was also convenient to all of the resort hotels, where many of our social activities were located. When we had time, we just walked over to the resorts following the beach walk. Whaler's village is about 1.5 miles away. Be warned that the walk to the beach, while short, is fairly steep. I wouldn't recommend the walk for anyone who is mobility limited. However, if you do have a rental car, there is a free parking lot right next to beach, though it gets crowded pretty quickly. I would suggest you rent a car if you are going to stay here. It will make it much easier to get to the supermarket north of here and enjoy all the fine restaurants in Lahaina. We stayed in the master bedroom, and it was very spacious with its own gorgeous balcony and bathroom with 2 sinks. The other bedrooms were nice, albeit smaller, and they shared a bathroom. The smallest bedroom can be a bit noisy, as there is no window separating it from downstairs noise. Kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, plates and some condiments. Cooking is a great way to save a little bit of money in Maui. And on top of that, it was great to have breakfast sitting out on the lanai, with a great view of the ocean and the island of Lanai. The only issues we had when we stayed was that the master bedroom A/C was not working well and the dryer was not drying. These were reported to Kim, and I fully trust that these have now been fixed. However, these were annoyances for us. The dryer was particularly rough, as we all ended up having to hang up our clothes around the condo to air dry them! Kim was very responsive to us when we were considering renting the place, answering all of our questions and providing us clear directions on how to reach and access the condo. All in all, it was a great experience, and if we were to have a similar size group in the future, we would definitely stay here!

Our extended family of 2 adults with 2 tots (age 4 and age 20 months), with grandparents, and 2 aunties stayed in this comfortable condo June 27, 2011 to July 4, 2011. The photos accurately depict the rental’s appearance, but really don’t do justice to the expansive view from the lanai(s). The bathrooms are all updated, the rooms are comfortable, and the common living areas were spacious and inviting. Kids and grandparents had no problems with the carpeted, shallow steps. The property is clean, well-maintained, and well-stocked (cooking supplies, water toys, DVDs, some board games and books, baby equipment, and of course, WiFi – which worked very well to upload our vacation photos). We didn’t find the need to buy much at all, outside of food and the fantastic fruits that Maui boasts. Travelling to Hawaii didn’t allow us to bring much, so we appreciated having a booster chair and a step stool for the tots. The owners were very helpful over email and over the phone regarding questions, and I would definitely recommend this property to others. Parking is just outside the unit. Airport Beach was great for the kids (as Kim recommended)...small waves - perfect for swimming, the tots and the beginner snorkelers. It’s a short walk down the hill or a very, very short drive if you’re lugging beach equipment. Even on the weekend, there was no problem finding parking in the beach parking lot. Whaler’s Village was a nice place to visit in the evenings, and downtown Lahaina was ~10 minutes south. It didn’t take long at all to get to Lahaina Harbor in the mornings for a couple of different excursions that we did (dolphin watch/snorkel and submarine ride). Location seemed perfect. We had a wonderful stay.

Thank you for sharing your condo. Eight days were great and ten would have been better. We found the unit exactly as depicted in the photos. Extra touch of condiments, seasonings, and water toys for us to use. Peaceful, quiet, restful area to relax after a day visiting the sights of Maui or the beach. Kim provided excellent directions from the airport to our home away from home. 10 minute walk to airport beach. When we were too tired to go to the beach, we enjoyed the pool. Recommend snorkeling at Black Rock to see the most sea life. Cool Cat and Cheeseburger in Paradise had excellent burgers. Luau at the Hyatt was a pleasant end to the week. Surf lessons from Goofy Foot with the CD of photos was a great experience for our son. Start early in the day for the drive to Hana and don't forget to pack a picnic. We would recommend this location for any group of 6-8. Thanks again for your hospitality.

Pete and Kim - Your condo was terrific. We, along with our son, his fiancee, daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter were lucky enough to spend 2 wonderful weeks in your home. There was plenty of room for everyone. Sitting on the lanai watching the whales was a favorite activity. We had everything we could possibly need in the kitchen. And the grounds were beautiful. We celebrated our granddaughter's 2nd birthday while there. That will be something for her scrapbook! We loved that the "pineapple man" was just a short walk down to the street corner, and Airport Beach was within walking distance. Thank you for being part of our wonderful vacation!

Thanks Kim for letting us stay at your home in paradise. We had a beautiful time. There was lots of room for the 6 of us and we particularly enjoyed watching the whales breach while having our breakfast on the lanai. The grounds were immaculate and quiet and very conveniently located to all the other shopping amenities. Unfortunately no early risers in this family but drove to many of the local beaches. We definitely plan to come back and will keep in touch. Mahalo! The Leone family

Pete and Kim, Just wanted to let you know we just returned from our vacation in Maui yesterday. Your condo and location are awesome! We had the best trip ever and being this was our 2nd time to Maui we spent most of our time trying out every beach on the island. It was so nice to come back to your condo. It felt like home to us. The grounds were immaculate and the pool was always "empty" so we enjoyed that also! You have a wonderful place there! We will be booking soon for next year! Thanks so much for a great place to stay on a beautiful island! The Steward family

We and our adult children enjoyed our one week stay at the condo. Saw whale spouts from the lanai, walked to the beach and enjoyed the convenience of stores nearby in the Honokowai area. Great access to Fleming State Park, Whaler's Village and Lahaina. Plenty of room; facilities were great. Working with Pete and Kim was a pleasure.

Aloha! We just returned from a glorious vacation on Maui. Our Condo was a wonderful home away from home. Pete was very gracious and informative which made our trip even better. The views and location were awesome. The beach just down the hill was our favorite. Everybody would get up each morning and go take a walk on it before breakfast. Mahalo Pete!

The condo was perfect for 6 of us. Location was good, grounds are beautiful & views from both lanai's were fabulous! Since we had 4 teenagers with us, my husband & I enjoyed the privacy the master bedroom/Lanai provided. We would recommend this to our friends. Only suggestion we have is to add more hooks for hanging damp towels.

Super accommodations for our family of 6! The location was ideal and easy to find. We had a red-crested cardinal singing to us while relaxing and enjoying the ocean view from the lanai. The beaches were just down the road and were super for snorkeling. The condo was very well supplied and comfortable for all. We only wish the week lasted longer.

Our seven-night stay was nothing short of paradise. The ocean view was exactly as shown on the vrbo website. With minor exception every aspect of the condo met our expectations. Overall, the rental proved to be a very positive experience.
