  Very nice holiday in the Beach House it was a perfect choice for us, in the center of town but still totally isolated and silent so we could enjoy the excellent climate (we didnt know it was so hot in September and sunny - we even got a proper suntan so that was a nice surprise). Very smooth booking process and all the email communication was fast and efficient and then when we arrived Alan picked us up at the airport and gave us good tips including local restaurants (we loved the Casa do Fado where all the family sang in the old town and the seafood rissotto was very generous, it was nice to be able to walk back home after a meal). The house is beautiful with more than we needed, and it must be very rare to get one with so many unlimited seaviews. The swimming pool is nice and warm. We did not mind sharing it with the Surf House as we each had space and our own barbecues and space - it was actually reassuring to have another couple nearby. We recommend walking in the mountains and a boat trip on the Seaborn ship which we enjoyed. Our only comments for improvement were the ants in one window need to be tackled and the mango tree seems to need some pruning. Great holiday and we´ll be back for sure.

  Back from a fantastic family holiday at the Beach Bungalow. No photos do these outstanding seaviews justice. We had the best of both world, total peace and quiet and somehow we were in the center of the old town so we could walk everywhere. We enjoyed beautiful sunset dinners, and breakfast outside on the dining area on top of the sea. We had concerns about privacy due to the other Surf Studio but were relieved to find that we had plenty of privacy and our own private spaces (dining area, sofas, barbecue, washing line etc). When we rarely did see the couple staying at the Surf Studio it was nice to swap tips on the walks and restaurants. Internet is very strong which was great and we really made the most of the swimming pool. Would highly recommend this property to any friend and we hope to return again this summer. Madeira was a great holiday choice as well, we saw so much but felt we had to come back soon to discover more.

  The Surf-Studio is a beautiful holiday apartment in the nicest part of Funchal. The studio is brand new and the view over the Atlantic ocean is breathtaking. If you ever want to have a shower direct at the cliffs and above the sea... you will be here at the right place. The bus stop is close to the entrance and a supermarket is only some steps away. You reach the old town, with bars and restaurants in a few minutes, if you are not afraid of walking. But we didn't need this often. The private terrace at the top of the apartment have everything to spend some beautiful and romantic evenings. And Cristina, the owner, is all the time reachable if you need some help or information. The Surf-Studio is an amazing location to spend some beautiful and relaxed days at a wonderful Island!

  We stayed in the Surf Studio for 8 nights in September 2012. The apartment has only recently been converted. The apartment was well equipped and everything was still new. The apartment was clean on arrival. The best aspect of the apartment were the endless sea views out of the windows and it was extremely private. The views were spectacular. The terrace provided great views over the harbour and was perfect for sunbathing by day (it gets the sun all day long) and drinks/BBQ in the evening. We decided against going for afternoon tea at Reids Palace as we thought there was no point in paying for their views when the Surf Studio's were better!! The location was excellent and only a 5-10 minute walk into the Old Town. Compared to other parts of Funchal, the walk was relatively gentle (but not recommended for those with mobility issues). The Old Town is the best part of Funchal and the Fort Restaurant and Riso come highly recommended. We would certainly recommend this apartment. It is also ideal for larger groups if taken with the Bungalow. Cristina was a pleasure to book with. She provided everything we needed during our stay. We certainly hope to return in the future.

  Muito obrigado for a unique holiday. The website showed lovely sea photos but there is no way to explain how fantastic it is to sleep and relax so close to the sea all day long. We loved the terraced allotments below the house were it seems some intrepid farmers grow their vegetables, its such a pretty sight and I´m glad to say without a machine or modern thing in sight (farming the same as 400yrs ago). We had a total re-charge of the batteries so many thanks and top marks for a comfortable, beautiful holiday home.

  Loved our holiday here in the Beach Bungalow, everything perfect would suggest a glass door in the bathroom, a teapot and some egg cups...but apart from that 5 stars for the self catering property. Obrigado

  Thanks Cristina for all your help and letting us stay another night when our flight got changed. We got home well unfortunately to rain, we miss our Beach Bungalow that made us feel like the Robinson family at one with the sea and nature. Its a lovely little house. We will also miss walking to our favorite madeira restaurants, Gavião was excellent and we liked your suggestion of the octupus..strange but good.

  Thats how we felt, a romantic holiday on a deserted island. The house is a real find, you can get lost in the seaviews & shut the rest of the world out. Its very pretty inside, the fabrics and wallpaper is very trendy and loved cooking the weird fish from the market on the BBQ. Thanks for a great holiday.

  Our stay at the Beach house was a lovely time we will treasure. We needed to rest and stayed most of the time sunbathing by the pool, the sea views all over the villa are outstanding and the place is very peaceful, so thanks for a much needed tropical holiday! PS- We ate a couple of mangoes from the tree..delicious.

  We found the Beach house very nice, our young children enjoyed very much the pool, the stairs are a good place for them to sit with their feet wet. It was a very interesting seaview for us with the ships passing, some whales we saw (I think) in the distance and the small lizards we made friends with. A charming house which our family loved very much.

  Thanks for the highly enjoyable stay at the Beach House. All three of us had a brilliant time and made full use of the swimming pool -sometimes well into the night. We loved the modern wallpapers and decoration which we found so sophisticated and right for Madeira. Its by far the nicest self catering villa we´ve rented, full of personal touches and one of the most beautiful scenic locations I can think of. Please thank Cecilia for the excellent service. We´ll be back for sure very soon. Best Candy.

  The house was much better than we hoped for, cosy & clean and the location was fantastic as its like a retreat on top of the sea no noise but right in the historic area of Funchal. Owner was very helpful we locked ourselves out of the house and in 2min she came round and opened the door (10pm at night) - many thanks Cristina. Photos don´t do the sea-views justice which are dreamy. We arrived stressed and over-worked and at the end of our stay it was a new happy romantic, younger (and very tanned) version of ourselves that left. Many thanks for the super holiday! We hope to return very soon

  We stayed at this beautiful villa last week and just wanted to rave about a wonderful stay. Last time we stayed nearby in Juvenal last year, also really nice but we decided to try this new villa and it was superb. A little pebbled walk suddenly opens onto the most amazing vista of the ocean and a sparkling blue swimming pool. We had gorgeous weather and made full use of the pool which was warm, the terrace was the perfect cocktail perch as we watched the sunset over the bay of Funchal. We found it peaceful during the day and night as the villa doesnt back onto the road. Decoration inside the house is very cape cod and elegant (beautiful wallpapers which I think I want to copy here at home) the large shower didn´t have a glass door so some water fell onto the floor every time we used it, the kitchen could do with a few more tea towels but apart from that everything was perfect. We rented a scooter but mind the crazy drivers. Nice bars can be walked to in the old town in about 5min (Barrerinha café & poncha bar) we also liked riso risotto, Jango & the forte restaurant. The beach is just down the road in front of the church and the sea is surprisingly warm. Loved our week in the sunshine, now counting the months for a repeat!

  Madeira is a wonderful summer vacation place and Im sure we stayed in the nicest place on it. We loved the decor and of course, amazing sea vistas and swimming pool from morning to night. Great place thanks.
