Think about a lovely quiet week in May--Beachplums are in bloom!! Or September, when the days are warm, and the fishing is at it's peak.
This up-to-date, pristine house is spectacularly perched on a bluff, overlooking Edgartown’s inner harbor from the tranquil shore of Chappaquidick Island. Edgartown, with all its lovely shops and restaurants, is but a short boat ride from your private dock, or a quick hop on the famous "On Time" ferry (about three quarter of a mile from the house). However, the quiet and beautiful island of "Chappy" is your own backyard.
Chappaquidick, well-known for its miles of protected, white sand beaches, quiet country roads and spectacular fishing spots is the perfect antidote to the hustle and bustle of town. Whether you choose to relax on our sunny deck overlooking the harbor, take our Sunfish out for a spirited sail in nearby Caleb Pond, or take your four wheel drive (sticker required) to Wasque or East Beach for a day in the surf, you will be happy you chose Summerhouse for your vacation.
The large living room/dining room, with its wood burning fireplace, has wall to wall windows overlooking the deck and the harbor.
Our kitchen, with a small eating area, is well equipped, with new appliances and all the dishes, cutlery, etc you would need.
The Master Bedroom, with ensuite bathroom, also enjoys the wonderful views, and has private access to the wrap-around deck. Two other bedrooms, both with twin beds, share a bathroom.
Completing the house is a basement play area, with a ping pong table.
The bunkhouse is a basic structure, perfect for teenagers. There is a enclosed outdoor shower, with hot and cold water.
Steps lead down the bluff to our dock and small beach, which is great for an early morning swim. We have a deep-water mooring, suitable for a 20 foot sail or motor boat . The mooring could be made available to you. We also have a lovely double-ended rowing boat, as well as a canoe and a laser sailboat, which you are welcome to use.

Lovely summer days..easy access to Edgartown, without being overrrun by its hustle and bustle...digging for clams in Caleb Pond, running up Katama Harbor in our sailboat.

Summerhouse was built as our family vacation spot on the bluffs overlooking Edgartown Harbor. We have enjoyed it for many years, and now spend the month of August there; we are thrilled to share our house with the many new friends we have found on VRBO.
