We've been coming to Mexico for years now & stayed in some pretty cool places, but this spot is amazing. Nestled into a well kept jungle with winding brick pathways lined with tropical flowers - it's like a wild garden, providing a shady haven when you need a break from the sun. Casa Lillia is great for one or two people, everything you need is there. Dave loved the Burros surf break right out front & I loved reclining in a chaise lounge under a palm tree catching up on my reading. The beach is great to walk & explore. Lori is so sweet & friendly, & made us feel like family. She even arranged & accompanied us on a paddle board/snorkeling tour out to the Mariettas bird sanctuary. We highly recommend this lovely piece of paradise to anyone looking for peaceful privacy, beauty, safety & great surf opportunities.

Recently finished my second stay at Casa Selvatica and I'll be back again. Doesn't matter if you're traveling solo, with your better half, couples, family or with surfing buddies, everyone's gonna be stoked. The house is super cool and the owners have your needs covered, all the necessary facilities/amenities, insights, suggestions, places to dine/go/things to see... whether it's a quiet or romantic week or fun beach trip it's all there. Pretty hard to beat this set up, it's every bit what it's made out to be. Yep, I'll be back for sure! Thanks for making your place available Lori, it's awesome being your guest!

We just had the privilege of staying in Lori's beautiful home, a beautiful four hour drive from Guadalajara. We stayed for four days in the studio Casa Lilia which was perfect for the two of us and our dog. We bought all of our groceries in the nearby Bucerias and didn't leave the compound for the next three days! The kitchenette in Casa Lilia has everything you need to make all your meals, and if something is missing, Lori will find it for you. Lori was also incredibly helpful with restaurant suggestions, local activities and fun stories. She even helped us find an excellent local vet and also took me to a fun "ropes" workout class in nearby Punta de Mita. She knows everyone in the area and everyone knows her! The house is situated perfectly on a beginner break steps from the house and a more advanced break right down the beach. And there are a variety of surfboards and paddle boards to rent if you didn't bring your own. Even if you don't surf, the house is very romantic and Lori has a huge array of other beach activities ready for you. Don't let the rainy season stop you from coming! It is the perfect time to visit Mexico because there are a lot less people, most days are still sunny and warm and the thunderstorms are breathtaking! We are renting a house up the beach for the week of Christmas, but if we knew about Casa Selvatica first, we would certainly be staying here! Thank you to Lori and Casa Selvatica for a truly amazing time!

It was truly an honor to stay at Selvatica! Easy drive from Puerto Vallarta to a tropical beauty. This home is so unique, you fall in love the minute you walk through the door. The owner and her staff are not only accomodating, they are delightful. All the toys to play in the water and the home is a great place to entertain or just a quiet getaway. Casa Selvatica is charm and elegance. What are you waiting for??
Owner response:Thank you, John and Patti. It's easy to accommodate people like you - thoughtful, respectful, responsible and fun! We all felt the void when you left. Enjoy the rest of the summer and we await your return - now you are 'returnees'!! Grandes abrazos, Lori, Pilas, Samantha and Aukai

Just returned from Casa Selvatica @ Punta del Burro with several families. A bit worried at first at how the house could handle small children, but Pablo and Lori took care of everything we needed before we even got there...cribs, highchairs, etc. There was plenty of places to play and even a couple of blow up pools the kids got to swim in. I won't even go into the activities for the adults, just read the rest of the reviews, but if your family has the adventurous spirit and wants a memorable, kid friendly, safe and unique place to stay then Casa Selvatica is it!! Next time we won't limit our stay to a week! Thanks Lori and hope to see you sooner than later...

My husband and I just returned from Lori's wonderful home! It was a relaxing oasis by the sea! We did not want to leave the property once we arrived. We had fun surf the entire time right out front. Ortensia the full time maid cooked us a fantastic meal of prawns, rice and salad- she is such a warm and kind woman! Mario the grounds keeper picked us cocoanuts to eat! The property is unique, artsy, whimsicle and open. We look forward to another trip there with a group of our friends to relax, surf, eat and never leave the premises! Thank you so much!!!!! My family and I had a fantastic week at CasaSelvatica. The video and pictures do not do the place justice. It is truly a magical place, with an incredible amount of detail that you continue to notice the longer you stay there. I can not thinkof a better location to relax with my family and "decompress". Lori and her staff ensured that everything was perfect. The neighborhood was full of friendly people. If you think Mexico is dangerous, just remember, it is a BIG country. I went with 2 little kids and didn't have a worry in the world in Punta Burro. I would describe it as "beyond safe". For a family gathering, the main house is perfect. If it was just me and my wife, both of the appartments are as nice as anything you will find anywhere, and would stay there in a heartbeat. Fully modern setup and decorated with class.

We have just returned from 9 days of a blissful vacation at Casa Selvatica. Such a wonderful spot, we are already thinking of when we can return!! Lori was so helpful and communicated everything we needed to know about the house and surrounding areas. We have traveled a lot, and this is truly a special place. For those wanting natural beauty, peace and tranquility (with surfing right out front!) Look no further!!!

We had the privilege of spending the last part of our honeymoon at Casa Selvetica. It was the best part of our trip. There's this feeling of peace and serenity the minute you walk in the door. The architecture is great and we loved how open everything is. It was relaxing, peaceful. and romantic....everything you dream that your honeymoon is and more. As new surfers, we enjoyed being able to watch the waves from our window and be in the water within minutes. Lori, the owner, makes everything so comfortable that you feel like you're home (thanks again Lori). We're already planning our next trip back.

A group of us stayed here in late July 2010 on a guys surf trip and had a fantastic time. Selvetica is amazing. It was absolutely beautiful - you can see the pride Lori takes in the place from the minute you walk in. Everything that's advertised, and more. Right on the water, with a breaks in front and Burros about 100 yards down the beach. We were well taken care of with everything we could have needed. We will definitely be back, next time with the wives, as it could have been incredibly romantic too if they were along! Oh, and it was great to learn that the place has a bit of surf history also, particularly for those old SoCal surfers. Thanks, Lori.
Owner response:Thanks, David. David is referring to the fact that my ex-husband, Bill Cleary, and I stayed in this house almost 30 years ago - Bill wrote "Surf Guide to Southern California", a copy of which is in the house, and he named Anclote "Mexican Malibu" in an article in Surfer magazine in the 1960's! He loved Burros!

Lori, I wanted to thank you for renting us your beautiful house at Punta Burros. We had a great stay. Your homes are beautiful with great attention to detail and customization as well as the location is very desirable. Me and two buddies went to Punta Burros area to surf for a week and to escape the early cold weather in the Colorado high country. We caught plenty of waves and had a great relaxing time. Ortensia was very nice, although we really didn’t see her a whole lot. I think we were usually out surfing during her normal hours. I/we hope to rent again from you in the near future. Thanks again,David Lau

Dear Lori, I am loathe to write a recommendation for fear that the rest of the world will discover the incredible holiday destination we have stumbled upon. We are avid surfers who have searched the world for the best destinations to relax in great proximity to fantastic, consistent surf. Casa Selvetaca has it all. Your home could not be more welcoming, or more appropriate to its surrounding. It has a wide open airy beachy feel with lots of gorgeous intricacies including the large pebble and shell lined shower in the guest room, and the coloured glass jugs molded into the walls. It's nice to have all the modern touches too, like the indoor/outdoor stereo with the cord to plug our ipod into. There is nothing better than sitting at one of the many comfy vantage points in your ample beachfront yard and watching the waves roll in. Nothing better of course than riding those waves. There is a perfect rolling beginners wave immediately behind the house that's great fun and incredibly consistent. It's big enough for anyone to enjoy but gentle enough for even us scaredy cats to ride. Less than 200 feet to the right is a sensational fast break that the more daring among us got great enjoyment out of. We were fortunate to get 10 - 12 foot swells for 3 days. When we couldn't be bothered enjoying the enormous kitchen and bbq for dinner, we were absolutely spoiled by the food at Margarita's up the road. I have never tasted such fresh seafood. I guess it helps that it's right next to where the fishing boats come in. We enjoyed the Italian place next door too but it wasn't as good as Margarita's. Hector and Junior make you feel like part of the family. Lori, you provided just the right mix for an owner; you were here to welcome us and provide sensational guacamole, but out of our hair for the rest of our stay, except to answer our questions about fun stuff to do in Puerto Vallarta. With you up the road at your other place, it felt like we had a good friend in the area to give us the heads up on everything. This is a surfer's and a beach bum's paradise. We will be back again and again and again. Thank you for sharing your amazing home with us. See you soon, Trahni

WE HAD A WONDERFUL TIME! We felt we had our own private Club Med. The house was perfect for us. It is full of beautiful details, yet isn't so perfect that you're afraid to touch anything. it is clearly a well-loved casa. The ping pong table got a serious work out as did the kayaks and surf boards. The beds were really comfortable and the towels were soft and lush. There was always someone snoozing in the hammock and we all loved that swinging thing overlooking the beach. The weather was perfect and there were no mosquitos. We were really miffed we never got around to lighting a bonfire on the beach. The reality is no one wanted to leave... a sign of a truly successful vacation. Thanks Lori for sharing your very special casa with us.

Dear Lori, Brilliant, magical, exotic, dreamy, fortress of the sea, what would call us away? Your frothy sands, clandestine linen rooms and waves warm our hearts and cheeks. I have never slept so well. Two weeks past with rocket ship enthusiasm and here we are, sun soaked, sorry to leave your leafy paradise. For sharing your home with us, we thank you! Your dog, dishes, daughter cast their mark on our hearts. Deep enough to ward away the New York chill for some time to come. An eternal place where time only revolves around the ocean. The waves tell stories of this place day in and out. We hope to see you again!! So incredibly grateful and blessed we feel we thank you immensely. Love, Max & Rach.

The house was awesome! We had everything we could need, your staff was excellent, there was surf, and my whole family loved it all! My kids said, " Why didn't you tell us how awesome this house was?!" They were all stoked about the artistry of the houses. The ocean was like a bath tub, we had a lightning show most every night, we ate good every day, the people are all friendly, we used your surfboards, we had a dance party one night, happy hour every night, no complaints or problems, with the house or the location. We will return, again and again, I hope. Punta Burro is the perfect spot in my opinion.

I just returned from a wonderful stay at Casa Selvatica. Had a great time surfing, kayaking, beach combing. The house is funky and fun... open and airy... a cool place to stay, and perfectly located. I was lucky to visit at a time when the owner, Lori, was around... a delightful hostess and a wealth of information. A real bonus to this property are the available kayaks and surfboards.. I saved a bit not having to rent a board. Can't wait to return!

Our family had the pleasure of six nights in this wonderful paradise. It was truly the ideal getaway for my husband and three children - 17, 13 and 7. The house is ideal - the view unparalelled, the kitchen perfect, the bedrooms very comfortable and beautifully decorated. It is simple living in an extremely luxurious setting. We will return as soon as we possibly can and would recommend it highly to everyone.

We just got back from our first stay at Casa Selvatica and are already trying to plan a return trip next year. We were there with another couple celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and it could not have been a better experience. The house was everything that it was reported to be and more. To quote my wife "it is a house that truly has a soul". Juana, the housekeeper, was great. Make sure if you come that you get her to make some of her avocado and noodle salad for lunch. We have been back home for three weeks and we still wake up trying to hear the sounds of the ocean outside the bedroom window.

The pictures do not do this Tropical Paradise justice. To celebrate my 40th Birthday, a group of 10 of us went and had the time of our lives. The beach, the amazing house, the owner, the caretaker, are all amazing and truly, as my husband said, "it was our best vacation yet." There was something for everyone to do. Surf, run, read, eat, drink, play, rest. It may be the coolest house I have ever been lucky enough to stay in!!!! This is such a magical place........we are going back next year. (And every year after that, I hope)

We have spent a fair amount of time throughout Mexico but nothing quite compares to Casa Selvatica. Set amid a palm grove at the end of the road, it was the perfect getaway for our reunion of old friends. The houses are spacious, airy, and well laidout for both entertaining and individual quite time. There are plenty of things to see and other spots to surf in the area, but trust me, you won't want to leave. Everything you need to entertain your family or the kid inside you is right there. Plus, when the palapa on your patio is one of the lineups from the water why go anywhere else.

Casa Selvatica is the archetypal Mexican getaway pad. It is right on the beach, secluded but strategically located to other surf spots, the airport and a beautiful coast line. The ocean lulls you to sleep in the master bedroom and the right point break keeps you going all day long. Hire a cook for authentic mexican food. Plug your ipod into the stereo system--we had some Jack Johnson to set the mood. Crack open a cold beer, read your book, go kayaking, take a nap, forget about time! If you have questions about this place, feel free to email me.
