Our 1500 sq ft. house is loft-style, built on a large rock with views of the Marin Mountains. Take pleasure in relaxing nights as you hear the crickets chirp and the rushing of the creek during the rainy months. Our house is a beautiful, tranquil place to unwind and enjoy everything that nature has to offer. On any given day, deer can be seen as close as 10 ft. from the outside deck.
Our house is nestled in the quaint town of Fairfax, CA which was just voted in 2011 as the ' Best Town in Marin' by the Pacific Sun.It is a quiet haven untouched by strip malls and corporate chains, yet it is close enough to the hustle and bustle of cities like San Francisco and Berkeley. A short distance a way are Mill Valley, Sausalito, Mt. Tamalpais, Point Reyes, Stinson Beach & Napa.
We provide bathrobes, blow dryers, 5 different types of pillows ranging from soft to extra firm, board games, poker table and chips, as well as an entertainment deck with umbrella covered dining table and love seat patio set. We also have a small library area where you can curl up and read a good book.
Take advantage of picnicking in Deer Park, hiking/driving to the many lakes located near the house, strolling through the town of Fairfax, antique shopping in San Anselmo and exploring the other great cities, beaches & activities nearby. A few nights in Fairfax and you just may decide to stay!

Loved our weeks stay. We had 5 people and it was perfect. Great location. Property had some trees being removed. Didn't bother us at all. The house was very clean, well maintained. The shower was in the upstairs bathroom. Washer and dryer were in the downstairs bathroom. Quite a few stairs. Some of us have knee problems, but the strairs were not a problem. Loved the decks great furniture and umbrellas. A park, hike right down the rode. The town is close with great restaurants. We grilled and cooked at the house part of the time. It's easy to get great food at the farmer's markets. Loved the shower. If you open the window you can see the mountain. If we needed anything or had any questions, the owners were quick to respond. We were able to use our computers, but cell phones had poor reception. The house phone was available and we were encouraged to use it. Thanks for a great vacation! We would recommend this house to anyone.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Misty was really great to work with. This was our first time renting someone's property on VRBO so we were a little nervous, but Misty answered all our questions and made us feel really comfortable about this decision. When we arrived to the house, we fell in love with it right away. The area is very peaceful and quiet, we had many dinners sitting out on the porch. We enjoyed hiking, biking and doing some sight seeing in San Francisco. Wine tasting in Napa was also wonderful. We will definitely stay at the house again if it is available in the future.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We have stayed here with a family of six. This was the first stop of a 17-day journey in California and Nevada. This property is close enough to San Francisco for a few visits, yet far enough to get away from the busy traffic. Upon arriving, a friendly neighbour, gave us a few tips for other interesting attractions, besides S.F. We visited Point Reyes, about an hours drive, worth the visit for hiking etc. The owner, Misty, was very friendly in providing in all the information needed. We would certainly come here again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.
