The Rue Du Chateau suite is located on the rue de Chateau, about a 10 minute walk from the Montparnasse area (a favorite haunt of Hemingway and the 1920’s Lost Generation). This Left Bank location is in a traditional part of Paris with typical butchers, bakers, and cafes, interspersed with more trendy bars and restaurants spreading out from the Montparnasse area. It’s a wonderful area for a very Parisian experience.
It’s also in a great location for getting around Paris from the Pernety metro stop one block away.
This one-bedroom apartment is located on the 2eme etage (our third floor) which also happens to be the top floor of a traditional turn-of-the-century apartment building (the 1900's) thus making the apartment very quiet.
The bedroom offers modern comfort with a King-sized bed, and a historic feeling with a beautiful corner marble fireplace mantle.
There’s a comfortable living room with a lit gigogne (the French combination sofa and bed that's extremely comfortable), side chairs, and a wonderful antique secretaire if you have work to do during your visit to Paris.
The apartment has a luxurious granite dining/bar area for drinks and meals.
The kitchen includes a refrigerator, microwave, stove, and oven.
The kitchen enjoys its own view over the courtyard making it a delight to use the kitchen and enjoy the fruits of your visits to the neighborhood outdoor markets just a five minute walk away.
Just off of the bedroom, the bathroom has a tub with shower, and a marble topped vanity.
The toilet is in its own '"water closet" near the front door which provides guests with two bathroom sinks that many find very convenient.
The bedroom has a lovely marble fireplace, and a king-sized bed. The mirrored closet offers plenty of storage space for your clothes and bags.
The apartment has beautiful old traditional wood flooring and high ceilings to give it a truly antique Parisian feeling.

The apartment on Rue du Chateau is in a perfect location to visit Paris. It is very close to the Pernety metro station which give you easy access to all of Paris, the RER station Denfert Rochereau which provides an inexpensive service to Charles de Gaulle airport, and the wonderful market on Rue Daguerre. It is also a 1/2 block from an excellent bakery. The apartment is in easy walking distance to Les Frangines bistro (The Franprix is located right across the street), Le Petit Baigneur (which, in my estimation, is one of the better restaurants in Paris), and L’assiette. There are also several Turkish places along Rue Raymond Losserand that are really cheap and good if all you want is a sandwich and fries and a glass of wine. The suite is also within easy walking distance to the Montparnasse Tower which has the most amazing views of Paris. The apartment was great. Completely furnished and very clean. Just perfect. Free phone service back to the US. Free internet (very fast). Could not ask for more. – Tom H. – Texas, USADid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We loved our one-week stay. The apartment is in the center of the block so it is very quiet. It has everything you need with a nice view of the courtyard. We can't wait to return to Paris and would love to stay here again.Recommended for: Tourists without a car.

Where to start? The apartment was immaculate upon arrival. The photos are a true representation. The owners are very responsive. The orchid was a lovely gesture. I've done my best to maintain its beauty! The nautical artwork is wonderful and interesting. Natural and internal lighting is excellent - you can actually see to read - unlike most Paris apartments. The outlook is great with the usual courtyard, but there's more, as you see a lot of sky and get an idea of what the day promises. Absolutely no noise at night, except for the occasional rumble from next door (just keep the bathroom door closed). Kitchen is better equipped than anyone would expect with Limoges china and lots of it + enough cooking equipment and utensils to host a dinner party for eight! The "library" is good too - I don't need Paris books and there's plenty of info, but I did appreciate the few very good novels. I exchanged one for another that I presume is the concept. The neighbourhood ambience is great - this is a local Paris area, not a tourist "must". There are numerous food outlets - super marché, fruit & veg, boucheries, boulangeries etc etc. Montparnasse is close and the 58 bus will get you there in a few minutes if you're not up to the 10 minute walk. I know Paris well and this is without doubt the most comfortable and welcoming apartment I have ever rented. It's small, but lovely. I have a policy of eating out - easy in this area - local resto, Café Losserand opposite Métro (Pernety), has excellent cous cous on Fridays - authentic and cheap. I could go on and on about the benefits of living in Pernety. If you wish to visit the monuments of Paris the 58 bus will take you close to everywhere - le Louvre, Notre Dame, les Halles - and from there its an easy walk to .... I am very happy that I rented 132 rue du Chåteau and have already recommended the apartment to friends. Enjoy your stay as much as I have. Merci beaucoup to Jean-Pierre et George. Finally - I'm called "UNHAPPY" as that was my last review - I am actually VERY HAPPYRecommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

We loved the Rue Du Chateau apartment! One day we will have an opportunity to repay you for the extraordinary efforts you made for us. We hope to rent from you again in 2012 since 2011 will see us walking across England instead of in Paris at the end of our journey. Kind Regards, Wendy & Geoff B. Thank you. I love the Pernety neighborhood and chose to stay there again, having discovered it last summer. This summer I had fun at the Bal des Thermopyles on the rue des Thermopyles. I also went to a lecture on the neighborhood at the vide-grenier. I even walked the back streets on the rue du Moulin Vert to Alésia discovering the Villa Alésia with the artstis' studios, the parks, and the village feel of this quartier populaire. And yes, I trained myself to take buses and not to reflexively go underground. I look the 58 a lot and others to Montparnasse. The Place de Catalogne behind the gare Montparnasse is interesting too. Very Italian Futurist. I feel like I know Paris so much better now! Constance C. New Haven, CT USADid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/4
