This beautiful condo is located in the Makahuena Resort Complex. Our condo is 1200 sq ft, two story, two bedroom, two and a half bath and is newly refurbished with great views and sounds of the ocean from the condo and the lanai. The kitchen has new granite counter tops, all new cabinets and appliances. This townhome features two master suites each with king-size beds and full private baths. Each bath has all new cabinets, tile counter tops and sinks.
The living room/dining room quickly converts to a nice bedroom with a new comfortable sofa bed, blinds and a half bath. New flat screen TV with DVD player in living room, + TV/VCR/DVD in 2nd master. Free broadband internet access is included with this condo.
We are situated just yards from the water on levels three and four of the complex. The Grand Hyatt Hotel and Poipu Bay Golf Course is less than one mile away. The Sheraton Hotel and Mariott Waiohai Beach Club are about one mile in the other direction. The freshly painted condominum complex includes a large tile lined pool and spa and night lighted tennis court. There is a large bar-be-que pavalion with 2 gas barbeques for guests to use.
The World Famous Poipu Beach, which has great snorkeling and surfing is within walking distance in one direction and Ship Wreck Beach at the Grand Hyatt Resort is a short walking distance in the other direction. From the Makahuena Point viewing area which is located in the complex, you can view spectacular sunrises and sunsets.
During the months of November through April you will have one of the best viewing areas on the island to see whales from the lanai and from Makahuena Point, also all year long you can see turtles and dolphins.
We occupy our condo 4 times a year, 3 to 4 weeks at a time to insure that everything is perfect. This is our home that we rent out, not a normal rental. The cleaning is done by a family friend on the island and she treats the place like her home too, so you can be assured it will always be perfect when you arrive.

Mel and Kim, We just returned from Kauai, and I wanted to tell you that your place at Makahuena was TERRIFIC. You have appointed the condo very nicely, and we could really not have expected a nicer and more comfortable unit than yours! The friends we went with are walkers, and we put a lot of miles walking from your unit to both beaches, and to dinner. We travelled the island by car, too, but again, your unit was close to both beaches and restaurants, so we loved it. And, we had plenty ‘condo time”, coffee in the morning and early evening drinks on the lanai, overlooking the property and ocean. We also saw humpbacks migrating back to Alaska, and I even saw one jump clear out of the ocean and making a huge splash, quite a sight! We absolutely loved this condo. The tradewinds and sounds of the ocean were great and the beds were so comfortable. This is a great place for two couples as each has their own bed and bath. I would love to return here in the future. Thanks for a great place at a reasonable price.

The perfect condo in the perfect location. Everything we needed was provided. Owner information on the area was 100 % correct. Very upscale remodeling but comfortable also. Snorkeling tip ---feed the fish canned corn over a rocky bottom & they will come by the thousands . Very colorful. Two nice golf courses within 1/2 mile. We will be back.

The condo is in the heart of Poipu, so it's within walking distance of lots of beaches and other major hotels, restaurants, etc. Each morning we sat outside on the nice sized deck and watched the ocean that was less than 100 feet away. Falling asleep at night listening to the waves crashing was fantastic. No air conditioning, but definitely not needed as the ocean breezes, coupled with the ceiling fans kept things comfortable. Full size fridge, full size washer/dryers also came in handy. It is important to point out there are stairs, lots of them throughout the complex. That's fine by me, but some folks with mobility issues should keep that in mind. Stairs leading from the parking lot to the complex, then stairs to get to the 2nd floor where the unit is at, and then stairs within the 2 story condo itself. The beds were comfortable and were true king size. The bathrooms were sufficient. The decor throughout was nice and tasteful. The pool and hot tub were nice too. We'll definitely go back to Kauai and stay at this condo if it's available.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway.

My husband and his parents along with myself stayed in your beautful condo for 2 weeks in April and we could not have been happier. Amazing views, very clean, kitchen was stocked so well, everything we needed to cook was there. The furnishings are amazing which truly made it feel like home, so many times listing descriptions and pictures are over done, but yours was right on the money. This was our third trip to Poipu and we have found "our place" and will return again next year as well as HIGHLY recommend this to our friends and family. We celebrated my 46th birthday during our stay and returned to my favorite restaurant, The Beach House...it was amazing as usual, Keoki's was fun too, good happy hour and awesome Mai Tai's! Shopping at the market by the Spouting Horn was fun and great prices too, don't miss Waimea Canyon, The Lighthouse, waterfalls just outside of Lihue and if you want a GREAT boat excursion, definitely use Kauai Sea Tours with Captain Jeff, amazing boat and crew (good food and drinks on board too) and he takes you to some really good sights and the sunset is beautiful to view from the boat deck. Paradise was found!! We truly enjoyed our stay from 3/31/09 to 4/10/009. Condo is beautiful. Grounds were kept immaculate. After seeing the whole island, we knew we had made the right choice of our location and condo. Short walk to the beaches - saw lots of turtles, monk seals, whales!!! Loved the little town "Koloa" and the "Big Save" grocery store. We can still hear the roosters crowing and laugh about all the chickens we encountered everywhere!!! Our group of 4, including one young child, were very happy with the condo, the location, and the grounds. The condo is beautifully appointed and well-maintained, with all the amenities, including equipment for the beach for us and our little one. Both beds were extremely comfortable (and we are picky!). The pool and jacuzzi in the complex were very clean and were the perfect temperature, and the barbeque area was convenient and well-maintained. We would definitely return here and would not hesitate to recommend this condo to friends and family. Thanks for sharing your Poipu home with us!

A wonderful condo! Perfect for 2 couples, with great mattresses on both kings , a great location and amenities. Beautiful walk along the ocean cliffs to the Hyatt. I didn't know sea turtles "surfed" until I watched them in Turtle Cove on the walk to Poipu Beach. 1306 Makahuena, No ka oi! Neal and Maryann, Darren and Kendra
