  Our vacation was a last minute plan and I took a chance. The photos looked nice so I called the primary contact. She was super nice and responded right away. We reached the place late in the night and were not sure what to expect. The cottage was super clean and the main floor was great. Artful decor, great view of Lake Mirror and plenty of space. Nice! The only thing to improve is to get a new DVD player. The one that was there did not work too good. Overall, 10 thumbs up!!

  I was recently spent a wonderfully wintry weekend at this home. It was perfect! I could easily walk to Main Street for shopping and dining and to the Olympic venues. The house had everything you needed from dishes and pans to fireplaces and a hot tub. My son even found an iron. The layout of the home was amazing. There was plenty of room and the rooms are decorated beautifully. The tile, stonework and countertops are enviable. The master bath is a masterpiece! I would love to again stay there. Thank you!

  Fantastic house! We've stayed here several times over the past few years, and we can't say enough good things about the house. And now, with the hot tub moved outside and a new air hockey game added for the kids downstairs, the house is even better. We are already trying to figure out when we can get back next year.

  We go to Lake Placid often, but this was our first stay at Stellarview. The home is fabulous. Bedrooms very comfortable, bathrooms numerous and large, great room and kitchen all you could ask for, and a separate get-a-way space for kids. Convenient to town, but still in a quiet location. We will definitely come back for another stay. Restaurant recommendations: Steak and Seafood, Milano's, Jimmie's, and Lisa G's.

  We really enjoyed our trip to Stellarview in Lake Placid. 6 of us decided to do a guys weekend up there and we came in from around the US and Canada, none of us having ever been to Lake Placid. Linda was a wonderful owner to work with, FAR better than other properties in LP which wouldn't return emails. She had great recommendations of where to get food and eat in town, was quick to reply with payment and deposit return, overall one of the best VRBO experiences I have had thus far. What you want to know about -- the place. It's located just down the hill from Main Street. It was very cold and snowy when we were there, however if you wanted to do a bit of a hike you could walk from the back of the house down the hill to downtown. Not that LP is a big town but it felt like you couldn't be closer to the heart of it all! The Olympic boblsled/luge complex is 15 minutes away, great restaurants are 5 minutes away and multiple grocery stores are less than 10 minutes away. When I say it was cold, it was COLD, we arrived to -30 degree temperatures. Even the bedrooms on the ground floor of the house had more than adequate heating and bedding supplies were plentiful. No one at any point was cold inside the house. Each of the bedrooms have individual heating that works very well. You could sleep a small army here very comfortably. The 4 bathrooms make getting ready easy and I don't think we ever ran out of hot water. The kitchen was the jewel of the house. We spent evenings around the fire on the couches and recliners, watching hockey on television with the chefs of the group in the background utilizing the 6 burner Wolf range/oven, quiet dishwasher, granite countertops, massive wide sink and secondary prep sink. Plenty of room to make a feast with multiple people cooking. A second fridge off of the kitchen was great to keep drinks in and the BBQ worked great. The house also has plenty of plates, silverware and cooking hardware. Only thing we didn't find were steak knives but we might have just missed them! They've basically thought of everything and the obvious upgrades that Linda and family have done over time to the place are very thoughtful, well executed and serve to make this one of the most luxurious cabins on VRBO. If you want to do LP right, this is the place. Treat it well so we can all keep coming back to enjoy it!

  Our group of 10 (6 Adults & 4 teenagers) had a wonderful 4 day stay. The house is perfectly located for walking trips into town and close enough to the Crowne Plaza to catch shuttles to Whiteface. The house is clean & comfortable, very well decorated and provides a great feel for coziness with space. Highly recommended for anyone who doesn't just want a house to sleep in and take showers. One warning - walking trips into town will include a rather steep climb back home - good exercise after a great dinner or drinks in town.

  We spent a wonderful post-Christmas / New Year's holiday at Stellarview. The pictures and description in the listing do not do it justice - it is cozier and more beautiful than you can imagine. The kitchen was a cook's dream, the beds were very comfortable, the bathrooms were beautiful and immaculate and the towels were thick and luxurious. We were most impressed with the attention paid to small details. The kids loved the air hockey table! The owners were VERY friendly and helpful. We appreciated that they put up Christmas decorations and a tree for us! We would definitely recommend this property to friends and would love to return to it if there is an opportunity in the future. Would love to stay during the summer months next time to take advantage of the huge deck and the beautiful view. Stellarview is the place to stay if you are looking for the perfect Adirondack holiday experience. And while it is private, Starbucks is just a short walk from its front door!

  Our family had a wonderful time staying at Stellarview in Lake Placid. I have to say that it is the best rental we have ever had on any of our family ski trips, and that the owners have done a fantastic job in setting up and furnishing this house. We found it very clean, warm, comfortable and welcoming. Fireplace, Hot Tub, Nice Kitchen, and easy access into the village and short drive to Whiteface, with plenty of parking spaces make it easy to relax, get around, and have fun here. I also wanted to mention how well thought out the layout of the house is, being both functional and attractive. It works very nicely for a family skiing group like ours and I highly recommend it for other families.

  The cottage could not be in a more ideal location. Walking distance from Main St. and all its shops and restaurants, yet secluded enough to be quiet and comfortable when you return. We cannot wait to go back!

  We stayed at Stellarview for 4 nights - 3 families including 6 children, in Lake Placid to do some skiing - it was perfect for us - kids took over the ground floor living/tv area + bedroom, air hockey etc. to hang out in the evenings, while adults lounged in v. comfortable surroundings upstairs in front of the fireplace (when we weren't in the hot tub). House is v. large yet cosy given nice decor, with great view through the trees across the lake to the mountain. Kitchen is first rate and dining area spacious for a crowd. Superb location - just a couple of short blocks up the hill from Starbucks and the main street, ski shop, etc. Would highly recommend Stellarview.
