STELLARVIEW is a unique home tucked away on a high hill overlooking the town of Lake Placid with views of Whiteface Mountain and Mirror Lake. It has the feel of living in a treehouse!
Although very private, it is a five minute walk to Main St., which boasts many outstanding restaurants, shops and a multi-theater movie house featuring first run movies. You will find each room unique with comfortable furniture,tasteful decor and a 6 person hot tub for your enjoyment after skiing.
You will enjoy Olympic History at your doorstep...Two blocks to "Miracle on Ice" arena, four blocks to ice rink where Eric Heiden won his gold, in winter, ski the Olympic downhill and Super G trails at Whiteface, ride the Bobsled or ski the cross country trails at the Olympic center on Mt.VanHoevenberg. In Summer, the beach is a short walk away, world class hiking, rock climbing and lake activities are nearby as are world class guides and gear.
The Main Level - Gourmet kitchen with Wolf Range, Asko dishwasher and granite countertops adjoins a large family room and dining area with cathedral ceiling. Two window seats are available to take in the views and a large deck to enjoy the outdoors. A bedroom and private bath is also on this level with queen-size bed and private deck with hanging chair.
The Upper Level - Master Bedroom - King-size bed, en-suite tumbled marble and limestone bath, private deck with mountain and lake views, sleeping loft.
Second bedroom with en-suite tumbled marble bath boasts queen-size bed and antique furniture.
Lower Level - Five person bunk room adjoins family room, full bath with natural slate floor and shower, laundry room and hot tub room.
Exterior - Natural rock Terraced landscape with perennial gardens with parking for 4-5 cars
You will find our mattresses all new and comfortable, kitchen accessories top shelf and furnishings more than comfortable. You can be sure that all bedding is sanitized on a regular basis and replaced periodically.

We sometimes live on our sailboat in the Caribbean during the winter and Lake Placid in the summer. We love Lake Placid and all that it offers in convenience and premier outdoor activities, both summer and winter. When we are too old to sail anymore, we know this will be our year round home!

Magical does not begin to describe the moments of joy we have experienced in this home. From the views, the beauty of the home, all the modern conveniences, and the sheer warmth of this environment, we have been awed at every turn. The location and layout of this residence make it a stand-out in the crowd. No need to drive once you arrive...just down one of the big hills to the Starbucks and several breakfast lunch/dinner spots. Super quiet residential area with awesome views Thank you for sharing this lovely home with us!!!

We enjoyed the house very much. The renter is very nice and they have done a great job in offering a clean and well appointed home. Very close to downtown, lovely view, private, very comfortable beds and the kitchen has everything you need. The unanimous feeling with our group was there could be a better sound system and TV for sure! While the TV was not that important to our group, it would have been nice to have something a little more modern to watch a movie in the evening. The sound system was actually very finicky. I was especially disappointed with the BBQ. I cooked two of meals on the BBQ and almost had to call the fire department. The BBQ is absolutely terrible. Almost ruined some expensive steaks. You need to clean those things occasionally but I would strongly suggest getting a new one.

Dear Linda, Once again, Stellarview lived up to it's name! It's "stellar" location also is perfect for hiking, a walk around Mirror Lake or a trip into town! The home has every modern convenience a gal (or 12 gals that we were) could want...gourmet kitchen, hot tub, beautiful decor and is incredibly spacious. Although is is located so closely to where the action is, it does offer incredible privacy as well. We Jersey girls will be back next year for sure! Thanks again for a wonderful Lake Placid adventure! Jen and Co.

This house was everything and more then we expected for our big group. There were 12 adults and we never felt like we were on top of each other because of the layout if this house. The furniture and kitchen were wonderful and having the porch and hot tub was great too! I would recommend this house to any big group, you will not be disappointed! Thanks for some great memories!

My husband and I were looking forward to getting back to Lake Placid where we met. We were fairly picky about our location and what we wanted to find. This house was perfect. We had 6 adults and 7 children (ranging from 2 months to 10 years old) and everyone loved it. We were all able to be comfortable in our own rooms and have privacy when we wanted it. The family room, dining table, and kitchen are fantastic. The kids ate outside and we ate inside and there was room for all. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub as well. The location was great for getting down to Main Street and gives you access to everything. I agree with a prior reviewer - only disappointment is that the house isn't for sale. We were all in agreement that it would be a great house to buy. Hope to come back in future years!

Perfect for the Lake Placid Half or Full Marathon

Our running group stayed this weekend for the half marathon. The house was perfectly located so we all could walk down the hill, pick up our registration packets and line up for the race! We also had no problem accesing the restraunts. The place was clean, well kept and GORGEOUS. Great balcony and the hot tub was ready upon entry to the house. No complaints from our group as it slept all 11 of us comfortably. House would also be perfect for multi family stays as well. If you are looking to have a launch pad to see the town and relax without driving you once will be hard pressed to beat this great place. We are already talking about renting the same house next year!!

There is nothing about this home that is low end!!!! The house is immaculate! The decor is stellar! The furniture and bedding is top of the line! There is a gourmet kitchen with top of the line appliances, pots, utensils and knives. I was blown away by all the windows and natural light. There are decks on every floor that brings the outdoors into the house. With all this highlight of the house all the granite counter tops and the tile work. We have rented several vacation homes in the past but nothing compares to this house!!! This is the place to stay in Lake Place. Only a short walk from main street, yet secluded in a private wood lot. The loved the serenade from the local Churches carillon ?. Our only regret was the place wasn’t for sale, we would have bought it in a heartbeat!!!!!!

We had a great time at Stellarview. We comfortably fit 8 adults and 4 young kids - the house has a great layout. It is also impeccably kept. This was our second year renting, and we definitely plan on coming back.

Beautiful house, very cozy and comfortable. Every bedroom has an ensuite bathroom which is amazing and very comfortable sleeping accomodations. Hot tub is a blast too! Great location and easy to get to town as well as Whiteface.
