Just wanted to thank you so much for the incredible adventure we had and for the fantastic sunset house as our "base camp" in Yosemite. We just had the most incredible time! We will DEFINITELY be back! I will send you some pictures when I get time, we saw an incredible deer right outside the house one morning eating the grass!! You must add it to the site! We also saw a coyote in Yosemite West. We loved the house and for a family it was great. Thanks so much and you'll hear from us again!

Our family has stayed at the Sunset House several times and each trip has been wonderful. The house is very clean, well maintained and has plenty of room for everyone. It's located in a section of Yosemite West that allows you to witness gorgeous sunsets every evening. The owners are great and have set up a process that makes staying there hassle-free.

We (family of 4) spent 3 nights at the Sunset House in August. We had everything we needed for a restful and comfortable stay and the sunsets were amazing. If you are looking for a home-from-home place for your family within 30 mins of the valley and the sequoia grove, don't hesitate to book.

A Truly Peaceful Retreat

Knowing Yosemite reasonably well we have found Yosemite West, where Sunset House is located, has rewarded us the most with its peaceful venue without compromising on it's strategic location. This trip was no exception and Sunset House made the experience even better. The home has a very cozy, bright and welcoming atmosphere particuarly after a day's hiking in early Spring when the cool evening mist rolls in. The kitchen is very well equipped and we were able to knock up a number of great evening meals with no trouble at all. The beds were on the firm side (for us) but we had no trouble getting a good nights rest. The single bathroom was perfect for the four of us and was clean and well appointed. We discovered a wonderful library of wildlife books to read while relaxing to a selection from a great collection of music CD's. For sure we shall return one day and share Yosemite and Sunset House again with our friends. Thanks Georgeta for making this such a memorable trip!

My wife and I spent A LOT of time searching for just the right home to rent during our May, 2010 trip to Yosemite. We could not find any home that could top the Yosemite Sunset House. The home exceeded our expectations and Georgeta is the type of owner you want to rent from. The home is a short drive from the valley floor and is located in a very quiet area, which was nice to come home to, after experiencing all of the crowds.

Greetings Georgeta! We had an amazing vacation at your cabin last week! It was so comfortable and cozy, truly a home away from home. The first 4 days were gorgeous, then on Mother's Day our kids experienced their first snow fall. I think they enjoyed your cabin just as much, if not more than the National Park. We haven't stopped raving about it since we got home yesterday and have recommended your place very highly to everyone. We hope to return to Yosemite next year for another unforgettable vacation.

A House With A View

The Sunset House truly stands up to its name. We spent our Spring break week here, and had clear skies with beautiful sunsets every evening. The house and apartment came with all the amenities needed for our family of seven. I was especially grateful that the kitchen was so well-equipped since I had planned to cook every day. It was a short 10-15 minutes drive to Badger Pass Ski Area where my youngest son took his first ski lessons, and the rest of my family enjoyed snow boarding, downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, and snow-shoeing. The valley is about 20-25 minutes away, and the drive there is very scenic. Georgeta is a wonderful owner who really cares about her guests' experience. She even called to make sure that we would be comfortable driving in snowy condition, knowing that we live in Houston, TX. She always promptly responded to my many questions and concerns. Don't hesitate to rent the Sunset House.

Hi Georgeta, I just wanted to say a big thank you for letting us stay in your house recently during our three-week fly-drive of LA, Grand Canyon, Zion, Yosemite, San Francisco and Big Sur. Sunset House is a magical place and it was so nice not to be in a hotel room for once! We had a wonderful time in Yosemite and we would love to return – I think it was my favourite place of the whole trip. We even saw a bear at Glacier Point, which was quite exciting! We will be back! Hi Georgeta, Just to let you know we had a great time at Sunset House. We really enjoyed getting out on the tracks and walking to the many waterfalls and rivers which were flowing well. Yes, we did get to see two bears - but they weren't the least bit interested in us. The shuttle buses around the valley were great but it was wonderful being "far from the madding crowds" in the evenings sat on the deck with a nice glass of wine. The house was so well equipped you could not want for anything. (Did we remember to put the hair dryer away) A most enjoyable stay. Thank you so much Hedley

The sunset house is aptly named, we enjoyed beautiful sunsets every one of the 4 nights we just enjoyed. Would highly reccomend this venue as a well kept, well equipped, reasonably priced cottage that is short drive from everything the valley has to offer.

For my first visit to Yosemite, I was fortunate to find Sunset House on the internet. Enjoyed the music selection and books on John Muir. Sunset House is close to the clouds and far from the crowds!

We just got back after spending 5 nights at the Red Door Apartment. It was great to have "our own place" in the middle of Yosemite. It's the perfect getaway to visit the valley and at the same time stay away from the crowds at the end of the day. The sunsets were breathtaking every single day.

What a delightful way to spend the New Years holiday! It had been years since we visited Yosemite and wanted to introduce our young son to the majesty of the park. The Red Door Apt was the perfect base for morning visits into the Valley and a comfortable retreat for afternoon naps for our little one. The apartment was clean, comfortable and the kitchen well-equipted. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The Sunset house is perfect to visit Yosemite instead of being in a hotel. The house is perfectly equipped with evetything you could need, it is very clean and comfortable. It is also in a very convenient location to visit the valley and the south part of the park.The park is awesome, we would love to go back again.

The apt was great. Clean and enough of the basics to get us through our overnight stay. Sunset was inspiring. Morning was serene and lazy- like it should be! I especially liked the nearness to Yosemite Valley and Glacier Point. We also were able to get to Wawona and the Big Trees. You definitely want to check out this developement foir your next stay in Yosemite.

The pictures cannot capture the simple elegance of the property's interior. This was Yosemite in luxury, close to the valley entrance.

It was a delightful place to spend our holiday. We just missed the sunset the first night, but we were able to time dinner perfectly the second night. And after dinner we remained outside to marvel at the multitude of stars as they appeared.

We had a wonderful time in Yosemite. We even got the first rain of the season, which brought up all those wonderful fall fragrances. The cabin was great. The setting is impressive, and inside it feels very cozy. We were a diverse group (Spanish, Japanese, Belgium, American, pre-teen and adults) and we all thought it was truly lucky to have been there, most of all, my daughter. All of us appreciated the charm of the house and were impressed with its simplicity and beauty. Next time I go to Yosemite I will make sure I check your website beforehand.
