What a wonderful place to stay. Everything you could possibly need or want was there for us. The view from the front deck was spectacular. The size of the house was wonderful for our family. I would highly recommend the place to anyone wanting a beautiful, peaceful get-a-way. The house is close to the skiing venue at Cataloochee. I will come back again - maybe in the summer!

My wife and I arrived a few days before Christmas and began preparing for the arrival of our "gang". We found a beautiful home with both a wood-burning and gas fireplace as well as plenty of bedrooms and a perfect floorplan. Soon after erecting and trimming our tree backdropped by the breathtaking Smoky Mts. our children and grandchildren arrived from Buffalo, Alabama, and FL. along with 3 grandchildren ages 1,3, & 4. All the kids and grandkids were able to stay on the lower level rooms with my wife and I in the master bedroom on the upper level. Separate entry is available on both levels which was perfect for all. We found all the necessary appliances and kitchenware for our stay. The home is very comfortable with plenty of room for all 9 of us. Views from the home were outstanding and the town of Maggie Valley was easily accessable. Plenty to do and explore even during the winter months. City of Waynesville was a super place to browse and shop with plenty of great small shops and boutiques. This was a great rental for large families and we would definitely recommend to others. The owner, Tom, was very helpful with any pre-arrival questions. Thanks for sharing your home!

My husband and I try to make at least 2 trips a year to Maggie Valley and we have rented numerous homes. We have finally found a place that fits all our needs and more. We even brought my 90 year old mother and she absolutely loved this home. Mom wants to go back in June hopefully with all the grand kids. This is a beautiful property With all the comforts of home . The view is amazing and if you are looking for a peaceful place to relax away from the everyday stresses this is it. My son also played golf at the country club at the bottom of the mountain and stated it is one of the best courses he has ever played on. We are looking forward to hopefully returning to viewpoint in June. Also Tom the owner has been such a pleasure and always available for any problems or questions. Thanks for sharing your home. Linda

My family and I stayed at Viewpoint for a week last summer and thoroughly enjoyed every minute! The view is spectacular and the accommodations were very comfortable. The location is very convenient to the Maggie Valley and Waynesville area. My daughter, son-in-law, 2 grandchildren and 2 of their school friends joined us and there was plenty of room for everybody. We heartily recommend Viewpoint for a stay -- except of course when we plan to come back next summer. ;~))

This is a beautiful property with great views. It is motorcycle perfect.... The streets are paved to the driveway. The house was everything and more. enclosed parking area, so your bikes are out of the weather, large porch, perfect for relaxing after a long day of riding the most incredible scenic roads in the smokey mnts. Tom was most helpful. We have looked for the past several years as we visit every spring and fall rally to find a place that will accommodate our group of 4 couples. This is it......Don't take my word for it, just jump on your bike and ride. Thanks Tom for a great Vacation.

The view from the porch is better than any overlook on the parkway. Rain kept us from going out a few days but relaxing on the porch looking into the valley was just as pleasant. We brought along a telescope and spent hours stargazing. The kitchen is spacious and well-equipped and the rooms are very comfortable. There were a couple of issues when we arrived, but the owner took care of them right away. It's in a great area with lots of ways to be entertained, but the drives through the mountains (especially up Hwy 209 towards Hot Springs) were the most fun. Would highly recommend View Point! We want to do it again next summer!

This place is fantastic! It's better than any motel vacation I've ever been on. It's spacious, fully furnished and has one heck of a view (I can see why its called Viewpoint) Every room was well stocked and kept very clean, and those beds were so comfortable. The downstairs game room is awesome - shootin pool was my favorite. Theres plenty to do all around the area too, hiking, sights, Cherokee, the Blue Ridge Parkway is gorgeous! I highly recommend this rental to anyone of any age. Thanks Tom! - Josh

Our stay was wonderful. 10 family members from 3 different states got together for the week between Christmas and New Years. The house had plenty of room for everyone, we had everything we needed to fix all of our meals. The wonderful view could be seen from nearly every window. We would definetly visit this property again. Thanks again, Tom!

We stayed at View Point over Christmas 2009 - there were 8 in our party - my parents from England, our 8 year old, our teenage son and daughter plus 20 month granddaughter. The cabin was absolutely perfect for us. SO spacious and very well equipped. Despite sub-zero temperatures outside not once did we feel it inside - the cabin was so warm. The view is breathtaking and the area is so quiet and peaceful. The local Ingles (about 15 min drive) had everything we needed for our Christmas dinner and the kitchen had all the equipment needed to cook it! We didn't venture out much - but the children went tubing at Tube World - it didn't look much on arrival, but it actually was tremendous fun for all - even the baby tubed in the area especially for smaller children. All in all we truly had a Christmas that we will remember. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us and we would highly recommend View Point as a great place to stay!

Tom, VIEW POINT was everything we thought it would be and more! My family had a great time skiing and when we came back to your place it was like coming home. It was warm, spacious and had everything we needed! We played games and watched a couple of movies. We made breakfast at home and your kitchen was well stocked. The bedrooms were more than we needed and the beds were comfortable. Getting to your place was easy and convenient. We had snow one day and we built a snowman in the yard! I would stay at your home again when we return to Maggie Valley. Thanks for everything. Sincerely, Rachel & Michael

We spent Thanksgiving at the Cabin with our children and Grandchildren and it was so comfortable we felt like we were at home. It has lots of great space, beautiful views, and is warm and inviting. The minute we walked into the cabin we knew that we would have a wonderful time there. Lots of the tourist sites were closed this time of year but we loved driving up into the mountains and viewing the waterfalls and having a picnic. We would go there again and we highly recomend it to anyone who sees it. The pictures are exactly like it is and more. Thanks Tom for a wonderful experience.

My husband and I love to come to the mountains the last week of October. This is our second stay in Maggie Valley and first time at View Point. We towed our motorcycle so we have access to both modes of transportation in case of bad weather. It did rain 3 days while we were there. Tom, the owner, was especially accomodating and accessible in answering our questions before and during the trip. The home is older, was clean and as described in photos and copy. Location was great and easy access for motorcycle. Though the short driveway is gravel, we did not have any problem going up or down. The view is beautiful!! The owner provides all the conveniences of home. There was an issue with the WIFI access but we eventually got it working. The one thing we forgot to bring was our pillow. Beds are not top of the line but comfortable. Gas fireplace was wonderful and cable TV a plus to watch our favorite college team and World Series. Also enjoyed hiking around the neighborhood every morning. Great place to stay if you want to get to the Smokies or travel the beautiful roads in the area. Restaurants? Joey's Pancake House, Legends Sportsbar, Sweet Onion in Waynesville, Hot Springs (stop at Trust General Store for lunch on the way). Rode to Gatlinburg through the Smokies - most beautiful leaves we have seen in years.

As the name implies, this was our second vacation to Maggie Valley. The weather was perfect, low 80's and it rained once. Take a trip to Lake Lure, approx drive one hour, kids will love jumping off the boat. Chimney Mountain was beautiful but,be prepared for a steep walk. White water rafting is a must do, if you've never experienced it! Our six yr old had a blast. The house is beautiful with plenty of room to relax. We are looking forward to next summer.
Owner response:It was this famlies second time at View Point and they are planing there next trip now. with so many fun things and beautiful scenary you cant see or do it all in 1 week. Tom

We stayed at View Point the week of January 4-10. The house is easy to find and easy to reach without a four-wheel drive vehicle. View Point is very large, and our group of nine was more than comfortable. The kitchen has everything that you will need - just bring your own food. Restaurants, shops and stores all all nearby. We spent several days snowboarding at Cataloochee. It snowed two days and the view from the deck at View Point was spectacular. The house has a wonderful open layout that made it easy to enjoy evenings together as a group. We have already recommended the house to friends and we are currently saving our pennies with the hope of returning someday. The house is spectacularly clean, and the photos on the website do not do it justice. You can not find a comparable rental for such a reasonable price. Tom was very easy to work with throughout the entire process. If you plan to visit the Maggie Valley area, please strongly consider a stay at View Point - you will not regret it.

First off, I need to insist that the pictures on the site do not do this house justice. The house is splendid, entertaining, and an absolute cozy dream. It is defintely a home away from home. The views are spectacular, the neighborhood is breathtaking, and the people of Maggie Valley are pleasant. The town itself is quaint and adorable. My family and I rented View Point for Thanksgiving. We were very comfortable and had all we needed within the home. The house brought us closer together and it made this Thanksgiving one to remember. We will jump at any other opportunity to stay at View Point again. The homeowner is very kind and helpful as well. Our experience was delightful.

Tom, thank you for sharing your beautiful house with us. The view of the valley from the top deck is gorgeous. I enjoyed my morning coffee looking at nature everyday. Additionally, being surrounded by the mountains and overall valley beauty, it’s an ideal location. My family enjoyed riding motorcycles each day through the Foothills Parkway, Blue Ridge Parkway, Deals Gap, Cherokee, and more. The challenge of the “Dragon” was exciting, and the “Wheels Through Time Museum” was very interesting. We met many nice folks in the valley as well. Overall--thumbs up! -Cathy

Mr Kuhn, We had a very nice weekend at your home in Maggie Valley. Thank you for allowing us to rent your home for the weekend. We arrived Friday at 6PM. Everything at the house was clean and in good working condition. No problems. The weather was very nice- 35-40 during the day. It did take about 24hrs for the downstairs to get a comfortable temp but it was not too cold with plenty of blankets. We ate dinner at Snappy's. We went to Tube World on Saturday. Then night skiing Saturday night at Cataloochee. Both activities were great. Checked out at exactly 10:30 today. The cleaning crew showed up as we were leaving. We enjoyed your house a lot and we will definitely recommend it to anyone we know traveling to that area. Very nice. very good location. Good value. Thanks again. Just wanted to give you the report. Tom, We had a great time at the View Point. The weather was absolutely beautiful and your place was great!! It was perfect for all of us. I do have a few suggestions. we had a couple golfers in our group, although we were to busy to golf, some sort of golf discount might be favorable. The area is great and your flyers for things to do was very helpful. The view and the neighborhood was fantastic. Our walks were great!!! The kitchen was adequite, maybe some large plastic bowls might help. We brought our own because we love salads with our meals. The tables, chairs, plates, silverware and pots and pans worked well. we brought large pans for our large family. Seating for everyone was great. We had a great time. My parents now have given me the title, "Travel Agent" because I found such a fabulous place. Thank you for opening your home for our family, we had a memoriable time. Michelle

Hey Tom & Chris, Thanks for the great place to stay in Maggie Valley. The weather was perfect, and we really liked the close location to everything. Next time we will definitely bring our golf clubs. Hey, I beat Jim at the pool table one time! I loved my morning coffee on the deck looking at the mountains! Jim liked his evening beer there.
