Bear Creek Log Cabin is a perfect vacation location.. The setting in the woods, the lovely decor, well stocked kitchen, beautiful patio and bubbling hot tub are just a few of the amenities that make this cabin special... It is obvious the owners Jim and Marie have taken great measures to ensure their visitors stay is enjoyable.. As we entered the cabin a beautiful live flower garden dish on the table filled the rooms with the smell of spring.. A fire was ready to be lit in the woodstove. Plenty of reading material to guide you around the Bozeman area, even restaurants menus to make sure you have a true Montana experience.. Sitting outside the cabin, whether in the hottub or relaxing on the patio furniture you will enjoy the fresh clean air, song birds and the rush of the fishing stream.. My husband and I came for our son's graduation from Montana State University. we have stayed at a local vrbo at least 10 times before and loved it but by far Bear Creek Log Cabin is now our favorite..It is just perfect, wooded mountain trails for the novice or the experienced are steps out the door..Downtown Bozeman is minutes away.. We hope to return very soon!! Thank you Jim and Marie!!

A wonderful experience overall, the cabin was clean, private, and cozy. Wildlife walking past the hot tub and nothing but the sound of rushing water at night, it was really outstanding. Bozeman is a goregous town with great places to shop and eat. The plan is to return next year. We overpacked, not expecting to be so well provided for at the cabin, but there was literally everything you could ever need.

The cabin is well stocked with dishes, cookware, linens, towels. Even the knives are sharp and great to use. The hot tub was wonderful after cross country skiing. There are trails just at the end of the road that you can ski to or drive to. A 1.5 hour drive takes you to Yellowstone which is amazing in the winter. Also Bozeman Creek has good trials. The owners are helpful and attentive to any needs that may arise. Everything is clean and just as described in the web site. It is a short drive into Bozeman for great places to eat. Soby's, the Western Cafe, Montana Ale House are really good places to eat. I would recommend this cabin to relatives and friends.
Owner response:Thank you so much for taking the time to post a review on our Bear Creek Log Cabin website. Thank you for referring your friends and relatives to our vacation rentals in Bozeman. We spent two great nights at the Bear Creek Log Cabin. It was a delightfully snowy weekend and the sledding and snowshoeing were great. The cabin is large but cozy and the perfect place to meet kids and grandkids for a pre-Christmas celebration. Only reason I did not give an excellent rating was that the TV was not working and some football games were missed. But...the family time without football was great!
Owner response:We are so happy that you enjoyed your time at Bear Creek Log Cabin. It was so lovely and snowy. It is rare, however, when we get heavy snowstorms, it can interfere with the satellite reception. We hope that you enjoyed the dvd's, but, it sounds like you had a better time without all that. We hope that you and your nice family return again soon. Thank you for taking the time to comment in our guest book. Your Hosts, Jim & Marie

We stayed for three nights near the end of september. After one night we were already planning next years trip here....for a longer stay. It's just as it looks as advertised. The cabin is homey and an awesome setting. Clean with everything you would have at home. Bozeman is close enough for shopping and there are so many things to do outdoors! Plenty of fishing and hiking. And everyone is so friendly. Just loved it! Thank you very much! We'll see you next year!
Owner response:Thank you so much for taking your valuable time to comment in our guestbook. We try very hard to make Bear Creek Log Cabin great for our guests. You make it all worthwhile! We DO hope to see you again next year! Happy Trails until we see you again! Marie & Jim P.S. We just switched to DirectTV, high definition. No more occasional 'lost signal' problems, and the picture is unbelievably clear. Amazing! We have more 'outdoor' channels also, now.

We have stayed several times in Jim and Marie's Cabin in Bozeman. For us the cabin was great, a mountain retreat in a spectacular part of the country, conveniently located to excellent hiking but also to town. And that gave us the opportunity to get to know Jim and Marie and to appreciate their wonderful, friendly, reliable and trustworthy natures.
Owner response:Thank you for taking the time to comment in our guestbook. We are having a great summer and expect a beautiful Fall. The creek is clear and lovely and we are having very ideal weather. I have a great new place, closeby, for affordable and amazing horse backing riding. Also, we can refer you to a wonderfu, nearbyl massage studio for professional massages for just $40 per hour! Bozeman has several new restaurants that you must try. Let us be your concierge next time that you visit. Please come back and visit again soon! We enjoy our new and repeat guests very much. Thank you for opening your cabin to us. We enjoyed the getaway very much. Loved the fireplace and the sound of the creek below. This place was very comfortable and clean. Enjoyed cooking in the kitchen and watching movies on the big screen. We will recommend to others for sure.

Jim & Marie, We recently stayed at your Bear Creek Log cabin. It was a wonderful place. We did all of our own cooking and your kitchen was equipped with all of the necessary items and even a few extras. The weather was filled with beautiful fall days and an occasional light snowfall. We saw deer on our lawn two times and many wild turjeys. Sitting in the hot tub was so relaxing. Your cabin is a perfect place to get away from busy days and just relax. It is set up with everything we needed. It was just an incredible place and we are hoping to be back again and stay longer next time! Thanks for all your hospitality!

Jim and Marie, What better way to say how much we loved our stay at Bear Creek cabin than to already have made reservations for next August!! The setting is peaceful and beautiful (the gardens add much to that), and the cabin made us feel right at home. It also accommodated our son and his wife and their two little girls very nicely for the several days they were with us. And with another son living in Bozeman, the proximity is a huge plus. The furnishings in the cabin are attractive and exceptionally comfortable, and the kitchen worked very well for "visiting while cooking". Even the wildlife cooperated in supplying an endless show, the deer family with two little ones, the wild turkeys, and an industrious woodpecker right outside the kitchen window, to name just a few. We loved every minute in this gorgeous setting and feel that you two have the perfect place for us to return to year after year. So, thank you, thank you, David and Bean Granger
Owner response:Blessings to you for taking the time to post in our online questbook. We are so pleased that you enjoyed the Cabin and the wildlife so much. We took a walk today ourselves & were saying how thankful we are to live here! We are so looking forward to having you back next summer! Marie & Jim

Just wanted to say how much we enjoyed your cabin! It was a great base for all of our travels around Montana, Wyoming and Idaho. It was cozy and had everything anyone could need for a vacation. The wildlife around the property was really a blessing. The fresh air, beautiful trees, flowers and wonderful breezes really made our vacation a relaxing experience. I highly recommend this property to anyone who likes a home like atmosphere for their precious time away! Blessings, Bill and Michelle Breedlove
Owner response:You are very kind to take the time to go online and enter your comments about the Cabin! Thank you. As you know, the coffee table guestbook is almost full of satisfied remarks. We appreciate guests who post online here for the folks considering the Cabin. We hope that you are able to come & stay with us again!

Jim & Marie,We stayed at your cabin June 12th thru June 21st 2009. What a great place you have!!! What can we say that hasn’t already been said? Your (pet friendly) cabin, with all it amenities and location made our vacation one of the best vacations we’ve ever had. For us it was close to family and close to the sights we wanted to see. I know there are a lot of things that we didn’t see and we are already planning next year’s vacation at your cabin. The beautiful setting you have just outside of town made for an enjoyable relaxing vacation. Coming back from a day of sightseeing and relaxing in the hot tub is the best way to enjoy a vacation. Please feel free to use us as a reference for future guests. Thanks again and we look forward to seeing you next year. The Himes’Rich, Jan, NickThunder & Copper

Hello Jim and Marie,Our stay at your cabin was fantastic and we are certain to return. We searched and searched for the perfect place and yours stood out as the only one that had everything we were looking for: authentic log cabin nestled in the woods with a crackling fire and a hot tub. Being located so close to Bozeman was a real bonus. The web site looked great but we were impressed when we arrived to see it was even better than the pictures posted on VRBO. We loved the way you decorated and noticed your attention to the smallest of details and especially appreciated the bear theme! Baths were well stocked with high quality soaps and shampoos and the softened water made for a luxurious shower. The bedroom had such nice sheets and a very comfortable mattress; the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed and there was a bookshelf with current brochures of any activity one could want from Tours of Yellowstone to skiing at Bridger Bowl.A flock of wild turkeys strutted past our window every morning and white tail deer were abundant. Best of all, it was incredibly quiet and the perfect place to relax!I had hoped to post these comments on VRBO but they don’t make it easy to navigate their web site. Please feel free to use any of this on your comment page.Thank you for your incredible hospitality.KC Denham, CWESouthwest Region ManagerColeccion Internacional del Vino2033 Hillside DriveNapa, California 94559Cell 707-738-6247Fax 707-265-9466

Jim and Marie, Thank you so much for the use of your beautiful mountain cabin. We just got back from our wonderful Christmas holiday staying at Bear Creek Cabin. Our 16 hour winter drive from Wisconsin to Montana was cold and brutal. What a welcome we received with the warm twinkling Christmas lights and fire burning in the fireplace. The first thing Greg said was it was worth it!! Christmas Day we enjoyed a huge family hike in the National Forrest and then spent the day in the hot tub with the fantastic view till we were prunes. Your place is very special and we will always remember our time spent there. You are wonderful hosts!! Thank you. Marie and Jim, Thank you for providing us the best vacation we have had in years. Of course we enjoyed exploring exploring Yellowstone, the Museum of the Rockies, the gorgeous scenery of Montana, and the turbulent rivers and waterfalls. But to be able to come home to your wonderful cabin after a day on the road was very welcome. All the amenities, the super-comfortable bed, the ability to cook our own meals, inside or out, and a place to do some serious "sitting around" if that was what appealed to us, left nothing to be desired. Our two weeks passed far too quickly. It was truly a home away from home. We hope to be back. Bette and Art Jewett Cloverdale, CA

Quotes From Bear Creek Log Cabin Guestbook: August 15, 2007 We have had a great nine days in your wonderful cabin. We have enjoyed fishing, bird hunting and Yellowstone while based here. Bozeman is a great area and the calm provided at Bear Creek Log Cabin made the evenings just as pleasant as the activity-packed days. We hope to see you again in the near future. Gary and Linda M. Cedar Hill, Texas August 30, 2007 We have been to fifteen countries around the world, and have not had a better time in my life. This is a five star cabin in my book. We really wanted to go to some beach for our honeymoon, sure glad we picked here instead! I hope we can return for our anniversary. Perfect place! Kelly and Jenny C. Atlanta, Georgia July 10, 2007 We had a great week here at Bear Creek Log Cabin. Fished four rivers, hiked Grotto Falls, saw the Museum of the Rockies, floated the Yellowstone, and caught the rodeo in Lvingston. What a week! Your cabin was the perfect spot, and so well equipped and supplied. All the comforts of home! A sweet place to come home to after a day of fishing, hiking, and exploring. Thanks for being home for a wonderful Montana vacation! Jon and Angela S. Valley Head, Alabama P.S. Forgot to mention the deer that stopped by daily for breakfast, and the flock of six wild turkeys on the patio! We didn't see the mountain lion, though. July 20, 2007 Thank you, thank you, thank you! We fell in love with the cabin online but the reality was so much better than we ever dreamed. You have done an incredible job with this place. We thoroughly enjoyed hiking the National Forest trails (skip Yellowstone and discover the Gallatin Forest!). It is so peaceful here at the cabin. we loved the hot tup under the amazing stars. Just wish that we could stay forever! We hope to be back. Thanks again for everything! Nancy and Glenna Skokie, Illinois

We just returned from 6 nights at Bear Creek Log Cabin and all I can see is that we want to go back!!! We fell in love with the cabin on VRBO but the reality was so much more than we ever dreamed. The cabin is so comfortable and cozy and outfitted with everything you could possibly need. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub under the incredible stars, fires in the fireplace watching DVD's on the plasma screen TV, thoroughly relaxing on the wonderful leather couches. Cooking was a real pleasure in the super kitchen. We splurged in staying there just 2 of us but it was worth every penny and then some. We definitely plan to go back. Very convenient to Bozeman and to incredible hiking trails in the Gallatin National Forest. Jim and Marie are wonderful hosts- extremely helpful and responsive yet not intrusive. They obviously have put a huge amount of work into the cabin and it shows. Every little detail was perfect. Thank you so much, Jim and Marie! We will return.
