  Cozy, warm, inviting, beautiful. My daughter and I needed a break from reality (and brothers), so we headed to San Clemente and somehow were lucky enough to land at this amazing cottage owned by the sweetest couple on earth! Breakfast was delicious, the cottage is gorgeous and very clean with everything you could need. I spent hours in the garden reading, walked to the beach for a wonderful run on the beach trail, and we spent hours shopping downtown and sampling the many delicious restaurants. I can't wait to return with my husband for a romantic getaway!

  As a well traveled B&B guest I have to give the Garden Cottage a 10 rating. From the gentle ocean breezes that drift over the balcony above a garden that looks like it should be on an estate in the suburbs of London to the comfort and attention to detail in the Cottage itself, it is just the best. It offers the warmth and welcoming ambiance of place you might want to live in. If you ever REALLY need to get away, to relax and feel pampered, run to the Garden Cottage. You will be a new person for the experience.

  Owner response: All that I can say about this review is that this couple are repeat guests and if you are not happy and satisfied you do not return. One visit here was to support their daughter who recently had surgery. Here are the guest book comments-"Thank you so much for allowing us to share your wonderful, beautiful cottage.   This is certainly the only place to go if you are looking for charm, ambiance, serenity, and the most wonderful hosts you will ever come in contact with!!! After staying at various *****STAR hotels in Orange County this is the finest place we have stayed in......Very quite and intimate!!! No valets, self "out of the way" parking, and check-in/out lines to deal with...Our parking space was just steps to this BEAUTIFUL Cottage with lush gardens surrounding it!!! As we open the gate, we find to our amazement, a magnificent garden with sweet scents and easy-listening music playing in the background. We look around and notice all the garden ornaments and comfortable, outdoor, floral furniture. Our inkeepers, Sandra and Bill, greeted us warmly with open arms......Now we felt at home....No one was standing behind a desk on a computer to greet us!!! Bill immediately gave us a tour of the garden. How special we felt that he would take us on such an informative tour. We saw plants and flowers we had never seen before. VERY INTERESTING!!!!!! Now we enter "OUR" two-story cottage that is discreetly attached to the residence. The smell of fresh roses catch our senses!!! The dining room table is delightfully set and a kitchette is conveniently located close by. This cottage certainly seems out of a storybook that takes design cues from the Old California style. As we walk up the stairs we find to our amazement a charming sitting area, bedroom (Very Comfortable Bed!!!), bath, and a balony with the BEST view of a knot garden just below.....And of course,...An incredible ocean view!!! After we get settled in, wine and cheese await us in the garden, as do Bill and Sandra who are making sure that everything is to our liking. We visit with them for quite awhile....We begin to feel like they are friends. They are soooo much fun to be around that we don't even want to go to dinner, but we must go. The property is only 8 minutes from the center of town. We found many fine restaurants to choose from and looked at all the unique shopping that was available. We even walked out on the pier and talked to the fishermen. FUN evening for US!!! In the morning we woke up to find a delicious breakfast awaiting us on the patio!!! Bill had made us reservations on the golf course that is right across the street so off we went....nice course!!! So much more to tell you about our vacation, but we are out of space....ha,ha!!!   This is a truly a secret garden. This cottage is detached from the main house and overlooks an incredible knot garden from the balcony. It is secluded and a quiet get-a-way. The pictures capture the essence of the cottage and the garden surroundings. You can walk to the beach in about 10 minutes and take the beach trail to the pier. Have drinks and appetizer or dinner overlooking the waves. In the morning the coffee and paper await you in the garden for your pleasure. You will not be disappointed.
