  Although we had an excellent overall family vacation experience, we were not satisfied with the property amenities. The house accommodated our entire family comfortably and the fully loaded kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals and store snacks for the entire week. Although the pool was large and beautiful the heat was not functioning which left the pool at a very cold temperature. Our four children were not able to enjoy the pool much at all, even on warm days. It is critical to note there is no boat rental available at this property despite the property advertisement. Our family was looking forward to renting the boat for a day retreat to the local gulf beaches. Although we didn't feel this ruined our vacation, it did create more driving time to other local beaches as well as parking expenses. The private, local beach was very nice but it was almost 2 miles from the property not a few blocks as we were led to believe. Walking to the private beach was not an option. The advertisement was correct in that the neighborhood was nice, the house was clean and the fishing dock was private. The rental advertisement mentioned swimming from the dock which isn't accurate. There isn't a ladder so no access entering or exiting the water and it was too murky and rocky to swim. This was again a misrepresentation that left us disappointed. The fact that there was no boat rental available with this property or that the pool heat was not working was not communicated to us until a few days prior to our arrival, leaving us with little options to rectify the situation. On a positive note, we still had an amazing family vacation and enjoyed our time together but felt compelled to share our property concerns.

  Recommended for: Age 55+.

  Owner response: I called the renters before they arrived to inform them that the pool heat had just broke. Previous renters used the heater when the outdoor temp. was way to low at night. The nighttime temps for the week in question also were far to low to heat the pool. Boat rental is available at the front of our subdivision. And the beach is less than a 60 second car ride from the home.

  My family stayed here this summer and had an excellent time. We had some issues with schedules due to a family matter and Scott was more understanding and helpful than I could have hoped, going far beyond what he needed to do or was expected to do. We even received calls asking how things were going with our family which was very nice. We also received a nice list of things to do and where to go which helped very much. The home was a really nice spot to stay and very comfortable. Our kids absolutely loved the REALLY large pool and left looking waterlogged:-) We enjoyed not being in the centre of all the action as in Orlando in the past and really relaxed here. The beach down the street is very nice and wasn't crowded any day we were there. Nice tables and bar-b-ques there to enjoy and lovely warm water. All in all this was a very nice place to stay and absolutely wonderful people to deal with. We'd highly recommend this home to anyone

  Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.
