Located in the fourth arrondissement, the heart of the Marais, our one bedroom apartment offers guests a sophisticated blend of traditional Parisian and contemporary style. The apartment is just a couple of minutes away from the Metro station St. Paul, making it easily accessible for both travel to/from the airport as well as sites throughout the city. Should you prefer to walk, you are only blocks away from the Seine, the Louvre, Notre-Dame, and Centre Pompidou - not to mention all our neighborhood favorites such as the Place des Vosges, the Picasso and Carnavalet museums, a thriving Jewish neighborhood, and countless boutiques, restaurants, and bookstores.
On the third floor of a typical 17th century building, the apartment features an open layout where the traditional poutres (original ceiling beams) have been exposed and, along with the parquet floor, finished in a rich, chocolate brown. The whole apartment is suffused with natural light from large, south-facing windows. The completely renovated and redesigned apartment consists of a large living room, a fully equipped modern kitchen, a dining area, a separate bedroom, and a bathroom with rain shower. Carefully selected furnishings create a space that is aesthetically pleasing, comfortable and practical.
The sleek modern design of the open kitchen provides all amenities for the gourmet cook as well as space for extra storage. Among the amenities you will find a four burner stovetop, dishwasher, microwave/convection oven and refrigerator as well as coffee and espresso machines, an electric hot water kettle, and all the tools you need to prepare everything from simple breakfasts to gourmet dinners (there are wonderful food markets in the area). The dining table adjacent to the open kitchen accommodates four guests. The living room features the most comfortable pull-out queen-sized sofa which sleeps two adults, a variety of coffee tables, a leather armchair and a built-in bench which serves not only as an entertainment center but provides seating for guests and additional storage. Cable TV with major international channel selections and an Ipod as well as a phone with unlimited local and international service are provided. You will also find a well-stocked selection of books and maps about Paris and France, in addition to our very own "Le Guide" with tips for the neighborhood and beyond.
The bright and airy bedroom has a very comfortable queen size bed as well as closet space. In addition, a custom-built work area is equipped with a laptop computer giving you access to free high-speed Internet. Quality linens and towels are provided for your comfort. The newly renovated bathroom (2008)with direct access from both the living room and bedroom features a rain shower, stylish vanity surrounding as well as a washing machine/dryer. A hairdryer, iron, and ironing board are placed for your convenience. Adjustable heating in every room and a portable high-speed fan for the summer months let you create your own comfortable climate. Double-glazed windows keep the apartment as quiet as the countryside. Security locking doors and exterior access code entry ensure your safety.
So why stay in an overpriced, undersized hotel room when you can live like a Parisian in the center of one of the liveliest, historical neighborhoods in the entire city. We are confident you will have a memorable stay in our AbsoluteMarais apartment.

Luxurious Paris Rental Apartment in Marais
Year Purchased: 2004
Why the Owner Chose Paris Arrondissement 4
We love all of Paris - even the not very travelled parts - but the Marais was an obvious choice. It is central to all major attractions, has one of the liveliest street scenes in all of Paris, and the mix of traditional heritage, fashionable shops and stylish surroundings was unbeatable.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment
The best part of living in the Marais is the sense of being right in the center of things in Paris. We love food and culture - all of which is in abundance in the Marais. Major museums as well as smaller, less known ones, and regular cultural events keep us busy. We have seen some of the most memorable cultural happenings right in our neighborhood. As for food the markets in the area are superb and even the regular food shopping in the area is well above par. The excellent metro and bus connections allow us to explore other parts of the city without major issues. And then of course there is the architecture, the history, and the general feeling of being part of a still tight-knit neighborhood.
Owner's Map of Paris Arrondissement 4
I lived in Paris for a while and ever since the city has drawn me back. A few years ago we decided to make the city our second home since we spent so much time there. After spending too much time in crowded and expensive hotel rooms and a few stays in rental apartments we agreed that the best option would be to buy an apartment so that we could really feel at home in our favorite city.

My wife and I visit Paris regularly and we came across this property when our regular one was booked. I think we will come back here every time from now on. The apartment is perfectly positioned and is beautifully clean and well equipped with a surprisingly large bathroom, and extremely well equipped kitchen (there were even sharp knives!) and the welcome was warm and exteremely helpful. My only two reservations are that in recommending it so warmly, we may not be able to book it next time and to point out that the staircase to the apartment would not be easily negotiable by someone infirm or with a pushchair. Absolutely wonderful!

We just got home from Paris and could not be happier with the choice of this apartment! I looked for hours. The whole process of renting and all the information that was provided was top notch. We rent through VRBO often and this experience couldn’t have been better on this apartment. I would recommend using all of there recommendations that are provided in the book at the apartment. I gained 5 pound even with the walking... Food was amazing. Bed was SO comfortable and shower was great. I wish I had more time to leave a detailed review but I just don’t. We will stay here again. Thank you.
Owner response:Hi Deb - thank you for your review. We are so glad you liked Paris and our apartment that much but must disavow any responsibility for the great food and "extra pounds":=) As you have experienced fall is one of the best times to be in Paris if only for the wonderful seasonal food in the markets and restaurants. Hope to see you again soon! Angelika & Michael

Our only regret from this trip to Paris is that we didn't spend a few more days there. What a great way to end a two week European Vacation. This apartment was within walking distance to the river, Notre Dame, Latin Quarter and of course, walking around the Marais itself was a wonderful experience. Angelica was easy to deal with, responded quickly, and promptly refunded the security deposit. We loved that it felt like you were right in the heart of Paris, amongst the locals. Even on our visits to the bakery, we felt like locals (despite the language barrier). The apartment looked just like the pictures and we grew to love the walk up the 3 flights of stairs (after the initial trip with our suitcases). Would book again the next time we come to Paris! Thanks for the great stay.
Owner response:Hi Ann - we are glad you enjoyed your stay in our AbsoluteMarais apartment and that you felt at home. Hope to welcome you back some time soon. Angelika & Michael

We had a fantastic time during our stay in Paris. This was enhanced by our stay at this Marais apartment. The location is superb and allowed us to feel (if only for a short while) like native Parisians. The availability of fantastic food stores and providores in the immediate vicinity made for a great and delicious experience. The restaurant recommendations in the guest book were also great. Chez Janou in particular was lots of fun - great food, wonderful bistro atmosphere and it is true - the chocolate mousse is spectacular! The apartment was stylishly appointed and full of charm with the timber beam and stained floor detailing. We were delighted with everything. The owners were helpful with our queries and the entire booking and arrival / departure process was well organised and went smoothly. If we are ever lucky enough to travel to Paris again, we certainly would be wanting to stay here. Thank you Angelika

we recently returned from 3 nights at marais apartment. below is a list of our opinions about the rental: -accurate pictures and descriptions -good neighborhood for walking and subway travel -apartment has charm and solid furnishings which add character -the owner's manual was quite helpful and accurate -good value for the money, and immediate, responsive communication on return of the security deposit -excellent double paned windows blocked the street noise -wifi worked perfectly, which came in handy -appliances all did their job -comfortable big bed -finally, we suggest going to chez dumonet josephine for dinner.. great food and fun old school atmosphere. happy travels.

Thank you so much for allowing us to share you pied a tere a Paris. I have been to Paris a dozen times, but this was the first time staying in an apartment. It was FANTASTIC. Your place is modern, hip, chic, clean and comfortable. The thoughtful little extras including the guide you put together, the basic provisions to get things started, the nice linen were all appreciated. The location could not be better or more convenient. We would gladly stay again and recommend. PERFECT! -Jennifer, Dallas, Texas

We really enjoyed our stay in Paris and your apartment made it very special. The location is amazing and we really loved coming home to our "home away from home". It was a nice change from the typical hotel room vacation and we were really lucky to find out about your perfect getaway. The neighborhood is spectacular with shopping, food, pastries and the markets all near by. My wife's birthday was January 15th and I could not think of a better way to celebrate it than absolutemarais. Thank you for a wonderful vacation.... we will certainly be back! For our first time in Paris and our first stay in an apartment, we were largely guessing, but could hardly have done better than Absolute Marais. We felt very well looked after: the laptop with internet access was invaluable; a supply of power adaptors allowed us to recharge our devices. The heated towel rail was heaven, as was the excellent rain-shower. We received prompt responses to our queries and we had no problem checking in early after a long flight from Hong Kong. Thanks, Jeremy! We feel that the Marais is easily the best district to stay in: it’s quiet, safe, diverse has loads of character and good transport options. We highly recommend this apartment.
