Located in the fourth arrondissement, the heart of the Marais, our one bedroom apartment offers guests a sophisticated blend of traditional Parisian and contemporary style. The apartment is just a couple of minutes away from the Metro station St. Paul, making it easily accessible for both travel to/from the airport as well as sites throughout the city. Should you prefer to walk, you are only blocks away from the Seine, the Louvre, Notre-Dame, and Centre Pompidou - not to mention all our neighborhood favorites such as the Place des Vosges, the Picasso and Carnavalet museums, a thriving Jewish neighborhood, and countless boutiques, restaurants, and bookstores.

On the third floor of a typical 17th century building, the apartment features an open layout where the traditional poutres (original ceiling beams) have been exposed and, along with the parquet floor, finished in a rich, chocolate brown. The whole apartment is suffused with natural light from large, south-facing windows. The completely renovated and redesigned apartment consists of a large living room, a fully equipped modern kitchen, a dining area, a separate bedroom, and a bathroom with rain shower. Carefully selected furnishings create a space that is aesthetically pleasing, comfortable and practical.

The sleek modern design of the open kitchen provides all amenities for the gourmet cook as well as space for extra storage. Among the amenities you will find a four burner stovetop, dishwasher, microwave/convection oven and refrigerator as well as coffee and espresso machines, an electric hot water kettle, and all the tools you need to prepare everything from simple breakfasts to gourmet dinners (there are wonderful food markets in the area). The dining table adjacent to the open kitchen accommodates four guests. The living room features the most comfortable pull-out queen-sized sofa which sleeps two adults, a variety of coffee tables, a leather armchair and a built-in bench which serves not only as an entertainment center but provides seating for guests and additional storage. Cable TV with major international channel selections and an Ipod as well as a phone with unlimited local and international service are provided. You will also find a well-stocked selection of books and maps about Paris and France, in addition to our very own "Le Guide" with tips for the neighborhood and beyond.

The bright and airy bedroom has a very comfortable queen size bed as well as closet space. In addition, a custom-built work area is equipped with a laptop computer giving you access to free high-speed Internet. Quality linens and towels are provided for your comfort. The newly renovated bathroom (2008)with direct access from both the living room and bedroom features a rain shower, stylish vanity surrounding as well as a washing machine/dryer. A hairdryer, iron, and ironing board are placed for your convenience. Adjustable heating in every room and a portable high-speed fan for the summer months let you create your own comfortable climate. Double-glazed windows keep the apartment as quiet as the countryside. Security locking doors and exterior access code entry ensure your safety.

So why stay in an overpriced, undersized hotel room when you can live like a Parisian in the center of one of the liveliest, historical neighborhoods in the entire city. We are confident you will have a memorable stay in our AbsoluteMarais apartment.

My wife and I visit Paris regularly and we came across this property when our regular one was booked. I think we will come back here every time from now on. The apartment is perfectly positioned and is beautifully clean and well equipped with a surprisingly large bathroom, and extremely well equipped kitchen (there were even sharp knives!) and the welcome was warm and exteremely helpful. My only two reservations are that in recommending it so warmly, we may not be able to book it next time and to point out that the staircase to the apartment would not be easily negotiable by someone infirm or with a pushchair. Absolutely wonderful!

What a great location from which to explore Paris! My husband & I stayed here with our two teenage daughters (15 & 16). The apartment was outstanding. The bed was quite comfortable and the girls had no complaints with the pullout sofa. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and the bathroom was clean and modern. The best part was being right in the middle of such a beautiful area of Paris and getting to feel like a local! By the end of our 4-day stay we were already referring to places as "ours" like "lets run over to 'our' bakery" or 'our' deli. Many choices close by for food & shopping and the metro is a short 5 minute walk (if that). After a full day of sightseeing, it was an absolute pleasure to go back to this apartment, get some rest, refuel and go back out for more. Many thanks to Angelika & Jeremy for making the rental process so easy.

Cannot fault this fantastic apartment in one of the most beautiful areas of Paris ( Le Marais). It is beautifully appointed and for a couple, is ideal. Angelika ( the owner) is a pleasure to deal with, and the ease of communication in booking this apartment was a selling point for me. The location is amazing! Great shopping at your doorstep , not to mention fabulous restaurants and wine bars! It is within walking distance of all the major sights e.g. Notre dame, Louvre, Pompidou Centre , Place de Vosges.... just to name a few. The apartment has free wireless internet connection, and we were even able to call home to Australia on a landline for free. I cannot recommend this apartment highly enough. in fact, I can't wait to return!

I stayed at this wonderful apartment for 3 nights in late Nov. 2012 with my wife and 2 daughters (9 & 15). All of us loved the apartment, decor, location and access to nearby attractions. There's even a grocery store just outside the apartment building. Local restaurants are plenty with a variety of cuisines. Our favorite was the daily walk to the Notre Dame cathedral (about 10minutes) and enjoying chocolate crepes along the way! Angelika was very responsive and thorough - was able to accommodate our early check-in request as well. Thank You! Be sure to read the printed guide in the apartment. It has some wonderful information. Will definitely stay here again (if available) :)

My husband and I were looking to stay again in the Marais district and came across this property. Angelika responded to our inquiries promptly, and the confirmation proccess was quick and easy. The apartment with wood beamed ceilings in a 17th century building, was located (5 minuted from St. Paul metro station), clean, and well-appointed and had all the modern amenities to make our stay most enjoyable. (Loved the shower and the bed was very comfortable)) Also at hand were many guide books at our disposal, and the manual for the apartment not only had important information, tips etc. but even recipes which I actually used. The apartment is ideal for a couple. Just one word of caution - the apartment is on the 3rd floor (actually 4th by American standards) and there is no elevator. We certainly did not mind it, part of the charm, but it might be an issue for some. All in all - a fabulous stay and I would not hesitate to recommend Absolut Marais to my clients.

Excellent apartment in one of the most interesting and convenient parts of Paris. Well set up with all fully functioning mod cons. Apartrment is clean, well maintained and the owners provide an excellent guide to the apartment and the surrounding area of Paris. This place is exactly as advertised: convenient, chic, and charming. The location is about 35 minutes' walk from the Louvre in an area with small boutiques, many bakeries, a range of restaurants, and lots of pedestrians - at weekends, many of the streets are closed to cars altogether. The apartment is on a very quiet corner in a busy area - for us, perfect. You are five minutes' walk from any restaurant or nightlife you might want, but you don't have to listen to it all night! :-) The windows are high-quality double-paned, too, so you can shut out all street noise if you want; there are still windows on the opposite wall for breeze. The bedroom is small but very functional. We did not use the second sleeping area so cannot comment on that, but the principal bed was unusually comfortable. The kitchen/living area is open and spacious. The bathroom is large by any big-city standards and well outfitted (good shower, good washer/dryer, good space to put down your things). Kitchen has everything you need plus extra touches like a bottle of wine, some coffee for brewing, candles, etc. There is a fan which we used on warm days; no A/C but I don't think you'd need it in Paris. The property manager, Jeremy, was attentive and helpful, with suggestions for restaurants and places to go. There are 58 stairs to get to the apt, and no elevator, so pack light. All in all, it was very easy to be in the Absolute Marais. Highly recommended.

We only stayed in Paris for a few days, but we were able to make the most of Paris because of this apartment. For location and quality of the property, we definitely thought it was good value. My girlfriend was 6 months pregnant at the time, so we were quite limited in the ground we could cover. It was great to have the convenience of strolling back when we needed to, and not feel like we were missing out on the city. The apartment is fitted out to a high standard and is very well maintained. We definitely recommend it, and would love to go back.

We stayed at AbsoluteMarais for 5 nights and found it a prefect base for Paris. It's close to St Paul metro, and near the many interesting shops of the Marais area. It's on the third floor, no problem for us, but if you can't manage stairs, it's not for you. The apartment is true to its description, very clean and comfortable with every convenience. Angelika was very helpful before our trip and Jeremy, the caretaker, provided excellent assistance while we were there. Payment was very efficient and the deposit was promptly returned on our departure.

We definitely try to give our customers the experience they expect and seem to have done so for your stay. We hope to see you again in the future! Regards Angelika & Michael

              Owner info

              Year Purchased: 2004

About the owner: I lived in Paris for a while and ever since the city has drawn me back. A few years ago we decided to make the city our second home since we spent so much time there. After spending too much time in crowded and expensive hotel rooms and a few stays in rental apartments we agreed that the best option would be to buy an apartment so that we could really feel at home in our favorite city.

Why the Owner Chose Paris Arrondissement 4:
We love all of Paris - even the not very travelled parts - but the Marais was an obvious choice. It is central to all major attractions, has one of the liveliest street scenes in all of Paris, and the mix of traditional heritage, fashionable shops and stylish surroundings was unbeatable.

The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
The best part of living in the Marais is the sense of being right in the center of things in Paris. We love food and culture - all of which is in abundance in the Marais. Major museums as well as smaller, less known ones, and regular cultural events keep us busy. We have seen some of the most memorable cultural happenings right in our neighborhood. As for food the markets in the area are superb and even the regular food shopping in the area is well above par. The excellent metro and bus connections allow us to explore other parts of the city without major issues. And then of course there is the architecture, the history, and the general feeling of being part of a still tight-knit neighborhood.
