My husband and I stayed in the apartment for ten days. The pictures on the website are very accurate, as was the listing. The property was very clean and well-maintained, and the property manager was helpful with arranging airport transportation and restaurant suggestions, in addition to everything else. Angelika also answered many questions before we arrived. I already have recommended the property to others, and we plan to return in 2014. Two nearby restaurants, Le Sevigne and Chez Marianne, were wonderful and welcoming.

We just got home from Paris and could not be happier with the choice of this apartment! I looked for hours. The whole process of renting and all the information that was provided was top notch. We rent through VRBO often and this experience couldn’t have been better on this apartment. I would recommend using all of there recommendations that are provided in the book at the apartment. I gained 5 pound even with the walking... Food was amazing. Bed was SO comfortable and shower was great. I wish I had more time to leave a detailed review but I just don’t. We will stay here again. Thank you.

Perfect location and felt like "home away from home"

Our only regret from this trip to Paris is that we didn't spend a few more days there. What a great way to end a two week European Vacation. This apartment was within walking distance to the river, Notre Dame, Latin Quarter and of course, walking around the Marais itself was a wonderful experience. Angelica was easy to deal with, responded quickly, and promptly refunded the security deposit. We loved that it felt like you were right in the heart of Paris, amongst the locals. Even on our visits to the bakery, we felt like locals (despite the language barrier). The apartment looked just like the pictures and we grew to love the walk up the 3 flights of stairs (after the initial trip with our suitcases). Would book again the next time we come to Paris! Thanks for the great stay.

we recently returned from 3 nights at marais apartment. below is a list of our opinions about the rental: -accurate pictures and descriptions -good neighborhood for walking and subway travel -apartment has charm and solid furnishings which add character -the owner's manual was quite helpful and accurate -good value for the money, and immediate, responsive communication on return of the security deposit -excellent double paned windows blocked the street noise -wifi worked perfectly, which came in handy -appliances all did their job -comfortable big bed -finally, we suggest going to chez dumonet josephine for dinner.. great food and fun old school atmosphere. happy travels.

We had a fantastic time during our stay in Paris. This was enhanced by our stay at this Marais apartment. The location is superb and allowed us to feel (if only for a short while) like native Parisians. The availability of fantastic food stores and providores in the immediate vicinity made for a great and delicious experience. The restaurant recommendations in the guest book were also great. Chez Janou in particular was lots of fun - great food, wonderful bistro atmosphere and it is true - the chocolate mousse is spectacular! The apartment was stylishly appointed and full of charm with the timber beam and stained floor detailing. We were delighted with everything. The owners were helpful with our queries and the entire booking and arrival / departure process was well organised and went smoothly. If we are ever lucky enough to travel to Paris again, we certainly would be wanting to stay here. Thank you Angelika

We really enjoyed our stay in Paris and your apartment made it very special. The location is amazing and we really loved coming home to our "home away from home". It was a nice change from the typical hotel room vacation and we were really lucky to find out about your perfect getaway. The neighborhood is spectacular with shopping, food, pastries and the markets all near by. My wife's birthday was January 15th and I could not think of a better way to celebrate it than absolutemarais. Thank you for a wonderful vacation.... we will certainly be back! For our first time in Paris and our first stay in an apartment, we were largely guessing, but could hardly have done better than Absolute Marais. We felt very well looked after: the laptop with internet access was invaluable; a supply of power adaptors allowed us to recharge our devices. The heated towel rail was heaven, as was the excellent rain-shower. We received prompt responses to our queries and we had no problem checking in early after a long flight from Hong Kong. Thanks, Jeremy! We feel that the Marais is easily the best district to stay in: it’s quiet, safe, diverse has loads of character and good transport options. We highly recommend this apartment. Thank you for a wonderful stay! It was very nice to deal with you - you are so well organised and pay very good attention to the details. The apartment had everything I needed (and then some) with a really well equipped kitchen and a great bathroom. Super location too, close to the subway and lots of great places in the Marais. This apartment had everything we were looking for. It is clean, modern, spacious by Parisian standards, and it had all of the amentities. There are plenty of linens, towels, cooking and eating accessories, etc. Everything was in working order. A laptop was provided and there was free WiFi. Free local and international calling to the U.S. and a more than adequate TV package. The manager who met us was gracious after we had a mix-up and kept him waiting and made him come back. He still took his time and showed us how everything worked and made sure we got a lay of the land before he left. But more importantly, it is the perfect launching pad for excursions to either the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, or 6th arrondissements. My brother lives in the 6th, and we walked 20 minutes to his place almost every day. The Seine is a 5 minute walk. Notre Dame is a 10 minute walk. St. Chappelle is 15 minutes. Pompideau is about 10 minutes. The Louvre is about 15 minutes. And that is assuming you want to walk. The apartment is located about two blocks from the metro and the bus lines. There is a really good assortment of restaurants, super markets, patisseries, boulangeries, banks, falafel stands, pizza places, apparrel shopping all within about 5 minutes. There is a great Lebanese restaurant run by a very friendly family on the corner across the street. The neighborhood is on the edge of "boy's town" but it wasn't over the top, and it felt very safe for our family to walk around at any time of the day or night. There were several helpful items left by the owners or previous renters including guide books, city maps, umbrellas, spices for cooking, etc. The owners are clearly focused on the details and they make the renter comfortable. Their terms were straight-forward and fair. The information they provide in advance is complete, detailed, and very accurate. They refunded us our security deposit in a timely manner. I can't come up with a single complaint. If I go back to Paris, I want to rent from these owners again, and if possible, I would rent this apartment again as well. One must walk up a couple of flights of stairs to get to the apartment, so if you have issues with being able to walk up or down a couple flights of stairs, keep that in mind.

Recommended for:Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Just returned from Paris and was caught in the volcano fiasco. Luckily we were able to stay put 2 days additional to our original rental agreement. The apartment is exactly as shown and everything worked perfectly. Also had WiFi that was a additional benefit. Everyone connected with the rental was most helpful and considerate. We would stay in this prime location again and again.

Dear Angelika and Michael, It is now a few months since our visit to paris but our thoughts often return to the Parisian sun streaming through the windows at "Absolute Marais". The apartment had everything our family could possibly want. The area was spectacular and the food from available from the surrounding streets was brilliant. Our afternoon walk would see us collect the best meat, bread, cheese, wine, pate, chocolate, fruit etc - a pure delight. The service from your "meet and greet" people was very good and overall we had one of our best family holidays - based mainly because of the delight of being able to stay in your apartment. It has been 36 years since I last visited Paris and my goal was to return with a college friend who had made the trip with me years ago and just "be Parisiennes". The apt. was a huge part in accomplishing this goal. The beams in the ceiling, the wooden floor, the view to the Marais from the windows complete with planters of herbs gave us the feeling of old. But the wonderfully modern upgrades gave us the comfort we needed and more. Great shower, great kitchen, comfortable beds, terrific location, wonderfully hospitable owners....I will definitely be back! Thank you Angelika and Michael for making this trip exceed all expectations!

My wife and I visit Paris regularly and we came across this property when our regular one was booked. I think we will come back here every time from now on. The apartment is perfectly positioned and is beautifully clean and well equipped with a surprisingly large bathroom, and extremely well equipped kitchen (there were even sharp knives!) and the welcome was warm and exteremely helpful. My only two reservations are that in recommending it so warmly, we may not be able to book it next time and to point out that the staircase to the apartment would not be easily negotiable by someone infirm or with a pushchair. Absolutely wonderful!

We have visited Paris quite a lot, this was however the first time we have stayed at an an appartment and it was really great! Finally we could do groceries in all the small shops in the Marais. Thank Heavens for your lovely flat! We had the wettest weather I've ever seen but being able to come home to this wonderful place was a huge consolation. So many thoughtful little details, such care and attention put into everything so that a relatively small space felt large and contained all you could need for a lovely stay. We were thrilled to have our own part of Paris to live in during our 9 days there in July 2008. Arriving on Sunday 13 July, Le Marais was absolutely a-buzz with activity. The sales were on, the weather was perfect, and the city was in festival mode as Fete Nationale approached. The apartment was so comfortable, and so brilliantly located, we really didn't want for anything. It was great to be able to put the coffee machine on first thing in the morning, duck down to pick up a baguette and return for a lovely simple breakfast while we planned our day. Being so close to the metro station, was brilliant. We loved the "bible" that Angelika and Michael had prepared and enjoyed sampling recommendations from there as well as finding some great little haunts for ourselves. Rest assured, we are returning to Paris, and will likely plan our dates around the availability of AbsoluteMarais.

My friends and I had a fabulous time. We loved everything about your apartment and have already recommended it to everyone that we know! The location, decor, size, and amenities are all fabulous. We called your incredibly detailed binder our "bible" and would consult it frequently. It led us to some great meals, terrific shops (my friends here are all enjoying gifts from Cacao et Chocolat), and simplified the city for us. We could not have had a better time!

The second time around proved even more special and interesting than the first. It was ausch a joy to open the door and find everything just as we remembered it. Took your advice on the jewelry and go two great pieces at Miravida. Also for anyone who likes their eyeglasses a bit special both Max and I indulged again in some amazing new frames from La Botique Alain Mikli, 1 rue des Rosiers, 5 minutes away an dreally worth a look. Also I must mention the joy I got from reading your – Paris to the Moon – it really brought some familiar places to light and showed us some new ones (apart from being a great read.) Off to get a taxi now – and the sun is just breaking through for the first time in a week. Good times to all who follow…

Autumn in Paris – what could be more sublime? Three days at your AbsoluteMarais “pied-a-terre”, sleek, clean and comfy. Merci for the down pillows and comforters and mattress easy to sleep on. We availed ourselves of the Adam Gopnik book and your internet connection – also the free local telephone very useful. Thank you for including a brief story about the apartment and thank you for exposing the “pouters”. Tres belles ambiance. Also the light finding its way in through the tall windows and white curtains – much appreciated. You have created a very special place. It’s obvious you put care and thought into the design and details of this apartment and in consequence we felt very welcomed and at home. (So restful to stay somewhere tastefully spare rather than tarted up!)

We are still telling friends about how much we loved the apartment! I say how it has spoiled us for future travel - the apartment experience is so much better than the hotel. We very much appreciated that information that you put together for the notebook in the apartment. One point of feedback is that the Philosophes cafe was not a good experience for us - unfriendly service and not very good food. We were very surprised, as it had been recommended to us by a friend here in the states as well. One very nice surprise was the Oliviers & Co shop at 47 rue vielle du Temple. They had wonderful things for us to take home as gifts, did a lovely job of wrapping gifts, and were so cordial and kind to us American shoppers. Lastly, we very much appreciate Melanie. She was very helpful while we were there, arranging for an early morning taxi to the airport. She retrieved the ring my daughter left at the apartment and mailed it to us. It arrived safely a few days ago. Thank you again - I hope to return to Paris and the apartment in the future.

We had an absolutely wonderful time in Paris and were delighted to be able to come home every night to your welcoming, warm and stylish apartment.
