Remodeled in July of 2009, decorated & furnished in 2005 with most furniture, all dishes, pots & pans, tableware, etc. It sleeps 10 persons easily with cable TV in all bedrooms, kitchen & living room. Added bonuses are the second floor sitting room with a big screen TV and the two first floor living rooms.
Open the living room sliding doors and enjoy the southwestern exposure and view of the water from under the huge, screened lanai while you bask in the heated pool or fish from the large dock. This quiet and peaceful setting makes this residence a perfect place for your fun in the sun retreat! Great for a big family.
Marco Island has something for everyone. Fishing charters, shelling cruises, and boat rentals are some of the island favorites. There are many golf courses located within fifteen minutes of Marco Island. Tennis courts are available five minutes away at the Marco Island Racquet Club and Tommie Barfield Elementary School.
Marco Island is rich with history. Some 2000 years ago, the area's native Calusa Indians settled along the Southwest Florida Gulf coast and lived off the abundant fish, shellfish and other natural resources. The tribe built huge mounds of discarded shells to raise their dwellings above the water level in the low-lying area, and many of these ancient mounds can be seen today on Marco Island. During the 1500s, Spanish explorers led by Juan Ponce de Leon arrived in Florida and happened upon a remote island they christened La Isla de San Marco (the island of St. Mark). As occurred throughout the New World during this period of European exploration, war broke out between the Spanish and the indigenous tribe. But Spain could not conquer the fierce Calusa with weapons alone. (It is believed that Ponce de Leon was killed by a Calusa arrow as he and his men attempted to engage a Calusa village.) Ultimately, however, the Calusa were defeated by a combination of war and disease carried across the Atlantic. For the next 100 years there was hardly a soul to be found on La Isla de San Marco, whose name was eventually shortened to Marco Island. It was not until 1870, when a hearty pioneer from Tennessee arrived, that Marco began to show new signs of life.
Water activities such as jet skiing, parasailing, and windsurfing are available within minutes of our home. Located close to Marco Island are the Florida Everglades where you can ride swamp buggies, airboats, or explore other excursions.
There is also an abundance of shopping to choose from in the area from Marco’s quaint shops to the upscale Fifth Avenue in Naples. Outlet shopping is available minutes off the island at the Prime Outlet Mall or further up the road to the Miramar Outlet Mall in Estero. The Naples Philharmonic is famous for its live entertainment and Marco Movies, the island’s Movie Theater, is known for serving dinner, beer and wine as well as traditional movie food favorites.
Marco Island also has an enormous array of restaurants ranging from fine dining to fast food. The numerous waterfront restaurants are local hangouts. Marco Island is the perfect vacation spot for people of all ages. It is a vacationer’s paradise.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2005
About the owner: Our family has been visiting Marco Island forever. The grandparents first visited in 1969! There have been many changes over the years, but we love Marco more every time we visit. We love to travel to many places but always come back to Marco.
Why the Owner Chose Private Homes:
We love the island so much and wanted a place that the whole family could enjoy. We fell in love with the views and openness of the home.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
One thing I really like about the house is that it is large enough for a group to hang out all together or spread out. If you want to watch your favorite show but want to be with your friends or family who all want to swim, NO PROBLEM. It is all right there! The living room doors open the whole length of the room to the pool with gorgeous views of the water beyond!
