Enjoy our secluded two-bedroom/two-bath home located on Compass Creek, in the Tusquitte valley near Hayesville, NC and Hiawassee, GA. It is located on a private road in a wooden area. The travel time from Atlanta, Asheville, Chattanooga, or Knoxville is about two to two and a half hours, yet it seems to be in a world of it’s own.
For your relaxation, the house has an open covered porch and a screened porch with a swing that over looks the creek. The home is equipped with Direct TV, DVD, VHS, CD and cassette players. For the cooler nights, you can read a book by the wood-burning fireplace.
Our library has plenty of reading material, board games and VHS tapes available for your enjoyment.
The house is on five acres on both sides of the creek. It has a walking bridge across the creek making for easy access for strolls around the area. For the more adventurous there are Nantahala National Forest trails nearby to hike.
The Master bedroom has a queen-size bed with a day bed with an additional roll out bed under it. The second bedroom has a queen-size bed with a bunk bed in it. The bunk bed can sleep two small children on the bottom and one person on the top. In the living area there is a futon and a single sofa bed.
Several of the activities near by include trout fishing (trout farms near by), golf, boating on Chatuge Lake, picnicking at a waterfall or lake, horseback riding and hiking. Day trips to Helen, Georgia., The Smoky Mountain Railway, or for whitewater rafting on the Ocoee and Nantahala Rivers are several of the many locations that are all within easy reach. There are several music and folk festivals held in the area through out the year. |
