What a gift!
What a gift!
The plastered walls, the ocean views, the sunsets, the eucalyptus, the mountains, the sculptures of walking monks, the rustic elegance of the décor, the walls of stone from the same mountain – you just can’t help it but craving to come back. Thank you for having me. Mark

We enjoyed a relaxing and rejuvenating week. The grounds, privacy, decor, and furnishings, not to mention the view, were over the top. Close to Carmel and Pebble Beach, yet, a quiet haven in itself. A great place in which to get away, be restored, and to reconnect with the one you love. Definately a wonderful experience. Mark and Julia were great. We will return. Dan and Julia Smith

We are frequent visitors to the Carmel area and were thrilled with our recent stay in this beautiful home. Perfect location just close enough to excellent restaurants and shopping, Point Lobos and beaches, yet completely private. Master bedroom suite is incredible and home has everything needed. Wonderful views and sunsets from nearly every room. Our plan is to return often.

We have rented many homes in the States and Caribbean through VRBO and this is one of my favorites. There is a zen-like quality to this house that makes it ideal for relaxing. The location is perfect for long morning walks but there were days when I would not even get dressed. The master bedroom is the perfect place for yoga or quiet reflection / meditation. The window seat is the perfect place to bask in the sunlight and enjoy the ocean view while reading or sipping a glass of wine. There is wonderful gourmet kitchen which my husband enjoyed using but there are also wonderful restaurants close by for those who do not wish to cook. Mark and Julia are wonderful about recommending local places. We will definitely be back!

This home was absolutely perfect! Everything about it made us feel comfortable and relaxed. The view from the upstairs master bedroom was breathtaking, I took a picture of it with my camera phone, sent it to my friends, just to make them a little envious. The wood flooring is just as beautiful as described, the decor made this house feel like a home. Everything is local enough to get to, and yet far enough to feel as if we were in a hidden paradise. The owner's of this home were extremely pleasant, helped with driving directions and ideas on where to go for a good meal. If we were to ever have a home built in Carmel Highlands, I would have to steal a few ideas from this one! Thank you so much for sharing your home with us, we couldn't have picked a better place. We stayed in this beautiful, tranquil house while we attended all the events surrounding The Pebble Beach Concours D'Elegance. It was the perfect location for jaunts up and down the coast and into the Carmel Valley region. The Crossroads, an upscale shopping village with restaurants, is just down the road. There are also two highly regarded Inns just down the hill from the house. From the upstairs deck of the house we could hear barking sea lions , so we drove less than 2 minutes down the highway to Point Lobos, a state park shaped like a peninsula with breathtaking views from its multiple trails, and, yes, in a cove in this park the sea lions romp, sleep and bark. The owners are gracious and everything went smoothly and we are grateful to them for our wonderful experience.

We just returned from visiting the Carmel area, a place we both love. Mark and Julia's house was just perfect for us. We found the home to be very private and quiet, breath taking views and very well appointed. This was the 5th VRBO that we have stayed in and quite frankly it was by far the best. You are within walking distance of the Highlands Inn and their two wonderful restaurants. Close to Carmel shopping and plenty of golf courses. Do yourself a favor rent this house for a week, you will not regret it. We will return be returning soon.

Mark & Julia have found perfection! This home is in the perfect setting to see the sunset, it will take your breath away. The homes ambiance, setting is breathtaking. My company entertained five (5) CEO's of the Fortune 500, during the AT&T in 2008. They were spell bound with home.
