Set up for Golf! Next to Swimming Pool, Near Beach!
Year Purchased: 2007
Why the Owner Chose Vanderhorst Plantation
We became enchanted with Kiawah one spring break when we drove up the east coast from Florida looking for the perfect place for a second home. When we arrived on Kiawah, we knew our search was over. It wasn’t any one particular thing – it was everything. For the girls, it was the beach. For Peter, it was the golf, and the biking. For Mary, it was the fact that the island is a nature conservancy. Alligators, turtles, bobcats, oh my! And for all of us, it was the serenity of a Kiawah sunrise, and the dolphins playing on the strand at Captain Sam’s inlet.
The Unique Benefits at this Vacation Rental House
We don’t operate rental units – we open our homes to new friends. If you stay in our home we want you to feel right at home yourself. If we accomplish that, we have succeeded. We believe that you will find each of our homes to be the perfect base for exploring Kiawah and having the vacation of a lifetime. If there is anything you need, just let us know!
Owner's Map of Vanderhorst Plantation

What a gorgeous home you have. It was a great surprise to have everything we needed. We felt right at home, but much warmer. We enjoyed the beach, walking, bike riding, kayaking, looking for sand dollars, Charleston, the tea plantation, the winery, and napping. We will not hesitiate to come back sometime and we'll tell all of our family and the friends who weren't here all about Kiawah and TurtleCon Too! Thank you for the fabulous accomodations.

Good food, fellowship and golf. Great weather to absorb before heading back to cloudy, cold Cleveland. This will get me through til spring. I hope to come back more times to golf and stay. God Bless you and your family.

What a fabulous, albeit short, time we had here ! Great times of laughing to the point of crying & making new memories, only to be duplicated next year at our next "Macminway" reunion! TurtleCon Too was just as great as TurtleCon- what an awesome site for our gathering. Can't wait until next time!

We had a lovely two weeks here on Kiawah Island. It was just as wonderful as we had remembered it to be eight years ago. The weather was great and the kids loved every minute of the visit. Thank you!

Thanks for a wonderful holiday at Kiawah. What a great place! Many happy memories to take home! Such a beautiful place with magical things to do and see and play! Our host made the holiday a luxury with unforgettable days. The golf, the bike riding on the beach and around the island & the sight seeing in historic Charleston all helped to provide a special week for our US holiday. Until next time, our best wishes, mate...

This has been an ideal spot for a Shepard reunion. There is so much to do for all. We loved the beach. It reminds us of Nags Head. Thank you!

It was so great. Everything was well, minus the 'too low' bar stools. Thanks for all, it was special!
