Lucy the Big Bama Beach House is a wonderful, family-friendly, Gulf Shores vacation rental beach house--close to the beach, lots of room, PLUS a shared pool (March-October) and fishing pier! We think the Gulf and lagoon offer you the best of both worlds.
Lucy is located in a quiet family-oriented setting in the West Beach area of Gulf Shores just 300 yds from the beach, and 2.5 miles west of Hwy 59. You are away from the condos and crowds, yet close to all the restaurants and activities. Our cul-de-sac is directly on Little Lagoon so you have good fishing and crabbing, a place to tie up your small boat or jetski, or just a wonderful place to enjoy sunset cocktails (a neighborhood tradition!).
With over 2700 square feet on 3 Floors plus 2 Large Covered Porches & 2 Open Decks, you'll have plenty of room to spread out at Lucy the Big Bama Beach House.
Lucy sleeps up to 14 in 4 Bedrooms + 3rd Floor Crow’s Nest. Each bedroom opens to a porch or deck. There are 3 large, full baths, a powder room on the main floor and an outdoor shower.
There are 2 King Masters, 1 on the Main Floor, 1 on the 2nd Floor. Each has a Private Bath, Private Deck, and TV. The Main Floor Master Suite is extra luxurious with a King Bed & Luxury Bath with Garden Tub & a Separate Shower.
On the 2nd floor you'll find 2 More Bedrooms, a 3rd King and a Family Bedroom with a Queen + a Pair of Twins. In the 3rd Floor Crow's Nest you'll find another Pair of Twins.
Lucy's lovely, tranquil setting & amenities make it a truly unique place for a family vacation. Just across a cul-de-sac from the house there’s a Shared Pool, Fishing Pier with Boat Slips & a Small White Sand Beach on Little Lagoon. You are just 300 yards from the Big White Sand Beach on the Gulf.
This peaceful Pool & Pier retreat is just for the houses on our cul-de-sac. The covered fishing pier is a great place to fish, crab or just relax. Cocktails at sunset on the pier are a tradition in the neighborhood - the sunset view is one of the prettiest in Gulf Shores.
The pier is equipped with chairs, a fish cleaning table, lighting, electricity & hammock hooks. You can even tie up a boat or jet ski here. There is room in the driveway to park a boat trailer, and a nearby public launch. The Pool is open March through October and offers a beautiful view of the lagoon & plenty of lounge chairs for relaxing. And the little beach by the pool is a safe place for even small children to wade & play in the sand while you relax at the pool or pier.

Lucy the Big Bama Beach House rents by the week from Saturday to Saturday throughout the year. Lucy is in a quiet family subdivision, and is not appropriate for young adult (under 25) singles groups. This policy & occupancy limits are strictly enforced by the owner and home owners association.

We Love 'Lucy'! Family House Beach Pool & Pier
Pool & Pier just for our cul de sac and we are just 300 yds from the beach. White sand beach on calm lagoon waters--great for small children
Beach access with shower & boardwalk. It is an easy walk but you can also park right across from it if someone in your group can't walk
Low on atmosphere but good food, great margaritas & nice service
Family-friendly open air restaurant, large sand play area, outdoor stage for live music

Our family stayed here in October of 2011. We loved how the written description of the property was exact in reality! Sometimes, you just never know and this property was rite on! Very roomy and spacious with everything anyone could need as a home away from home. Very close proximity to lagoon and short walk to gulf side beach was awesome! We really loved Lucy! Lagrange, KY

We stayed the week of July 4th, 2011. We loved the house. It was spacious and nice and clean. The furnishings were just as they were pictured. Having the two extra beds up in the loft was very helpful. The kitchen was extremely well stocked and there was always plenty of silverware, glasses, and plates. The fishing pier was a nice extra that we haven't had before. The owners were helpful and willing to communicate. Overall it was a great week in very nice house. We would do it again.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, families with young children.

This house was amazing. The description of it was right on and the photos of it were exactly as it appears in the listing. It was very clean and well maintained. We had 3 families including 5 children and we had more than enough room. The kitchen was better than my own at home. I kept thinking I would find something that I needed that wasn't there but I didn't. Susan was very helpful with all of my questions and even giving us some hints on restaurants which turned out to be very good. I would definitely recommend "Lucy" to anyone that is visiting Gulf Shores and my family and I will stay there again if we return.

We were a family of ten, plus two little ones, who stayed at "Lucy" over the recent Labor Day Weekend holiday. The accomodations were great! Lovely decor was exhibited throughout the house, suggestive of beach, sunshine and good times. The beach is only a short stroll away, while the pool and pier are nearby. Each couple enjoyed privacy, and we were not crowded at all during meals in the spacious well equiped modern kitchen/living room area. All of us had a wonderful time at "Lucy" and hope to return again!
Recommended for:Girls getaway, age 55+.

We spent a wonderful week at Lucy. We had our three children and their spouses and all of their children - I was soooo very happy to have all of us together. We loved the beach, the pool and Lucy. Looking forward to coming back next summer.
