  • Over the years I have made more than 20 trips to Hawaii most of which were to Maui. I have stayed in many locations over the years and I can honestly say that considering all the factors such as location, value and comfort, this was by far the best overall value I have seen. This was perfect for a trip with my son and would have also been very romantic for a couple. The owners were outstanding to work with. I would highly recommend staying here. Thank you very much for sharing you beautiful home. We can not wait to get back.

  • My husband and I rented this condo for one week and loved the location and amenities. The condo is in a quiet complex right on Kaanapali Beach between the Westin Villas and Royal Lahaina Resort. There is great snorkeling on the beach just outside! The free shuttle trolley is convenient to get to Whaler's Village for restaurants and shopping. We used the trolley to go to the Sheraton to get to Black Rock, one of the best snorkel areas in Maui. The owners were very helpful and accommodating and we have already recommended this condo to friends and family.

  • We stayed in the Shield’s condo July 17-28, 2007. This was one of our best vacations ever. You have a beautiful studio. It was everything we had hoped for. It was comfortable and pleasant. We explored most of the island and decided that the location of your condo is the best place to stay - absolutely beautiful grounds. The location of Kaanapali Villas is very good for seeing the rest of the island and for shopping. We loved sitting on the lawn at the beach. The combination of shady and sunny areas is excellent. We liked the beach and the environment north of Black Rock better than south. We made a lot of our meals in the condo - great pots and pans! We enjoyed eating fresh fish from “The Fish Market” and also liked the free Kona coffee in the lobby every morning. We had brunch at the café on our last morning and it was very good. We snorkeled from shore in various places (Honolua Bay, Black Rock, Napili, Wailea) and the best spot for water clarity, health and variety of coral, and number of species of fish (we identified 56!) was on your beach right in front of the public beach pavilion – no need to go out on a boat. The road to Hana was a hoot, as was the drive up the volcano (We saw the Nene geese). As a biologist, I found all the different ecosystems and microclimates on the island to be fascinating. Other highlights were sailing on America II, the slack key guitar concert at Napili Kai, Warren and Annabelle’s magic show, and having our anniversary dinner at Mama’s Fish house. We are still laughing about our trip to the winery on the Saturday morning when the tropical storm was affecting the weather a bit. I told Jan that you can’t make wine from a pineapple, and she now agrees with me that if you want a pineapple flavored drink you make a Mai Tai or Pina Collada. We loved Maui and will recommend your condo to anyone.

  • Kaanapali beach really is the most beautiful in Maui. This was our first trip and we LOVED it. We had heard complaints from other tourists about their not so nice beaches, so stay on this beach. This room that we rented was great- comfortable (we slept like babies in that bed!), clean and had absolutely everything we needed. The veiw is beautiful- it is of the garden and a bit of the ocean- the sunsets are pretty from there. The balcony faces a very quiet garden area towards the ocean- it was perfect since we had heard other guests complaining about the noise on the other side of the resort. I would for sure recommend this room. We aren't a high maintinence couple and generally like to be left alone, and since turn down service has to be specifically requested, it was great to not have maids knocking on your door when you are trying to sleep. The resort itself has nice grounds, clean and very well maintained, the pools are small, but honestly the ocean is the best part- clean and bright blue, perfect. Also, there is a shuttle that picks you up right outside the front desk if you want to take a trip into town. The couple that own the condo are friendly, easy going, and made our booking a breeze. For all these reasons we're comming back this year to this exact condo! It's a great place for a romantic getaway.
