This was my first time staying in a cabin and I could not have done a better job of picking one. All of the information provided about the location, area and amenities was very accurate. The cabin was clean and everything was provided. The person I dealt with to rent the cabin was very nice, helpful and always got back to me in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend this cabin to friends and family.

This home was the perfect weekend getaway for us and our extended family. The house was beautiful, well appointed, close to town but far enough away to feel like you're in the middle of the forest. The views were spectacular with deer present on arrival and every morning thereafter. The best view in the area. Would recommend this property to anyone. The owner was wonderful to work with, very helpful and responsive. We are already planning to stay again in the future.

My Family and I had a wonderful time at Lone Elk Lodge...Very nice house, it didn't snow while we were there over Christmas but there was enough snow on the ground for our kids and grandkids to enjoy sledding down the hill in front of the house..they had a blast...Thanks so much for opening up your place for others to enjoy !!! This house is very nice and very comfortable! We loved our time there! The patio is awesome and the view is to die for! I just want to warn parents of small children that the slats leading up to the stairs and the slats on the second floor are very wide and are wide enough for a 4 year old to fit through! I wish someone would have warned me about this because I would have brought a baby gate to keep my kids from going upstairs! But this is difficult since the only TV is upstairs and all the bedrooms! I have a very compliant 2 year old who I quickly trained to stay away from the slats but my heart raced everytime we were upstairs watching TV if he got to close to the edge! This is the one thing that will keep me from renting again with small children! But if you are a group of adults or older kids then go for it! You won't be disappointed!
Owner response:We have had many families with very small children and infants staying at the Lodge, and returning, but no feedback on the slats on the railings and banister. We assume, however, that this was a sincere concern for this particular mother, though she said nothing to us directly, so we do intend to have a carpenter do something to decrease the spaces between slats once the fully booked summer season is over. Also, we are installing an alternative TV set in the downstairs living area (additional to the one in the downstairs master and the one in the upstairs loft/living room) but it will be far from the fireplace area where families love to gather and chat without the noise/distraction of a TV. Families who want to enjoy a fireplace experience and a TV can use the upstairs loft as the Lodge is blessed with two real fireplaces.

Wow! My family and I were thrilled with Lone Elk Lodge. View from the porch was great. Neighborhood is nice, with large homes well-spaced apart. Walking around the block seems like a walk in the woods. Herd of elk crossed the yard one morning. Extremely comfortable and very well furnished in traditional lodge style. Good fireplace. This home is first rate and you will not be disappointed staying here. Sleeps 10 I would imagine and it will not feel crowded if all ten are hanging out in the living space either - the lodge is huge. Owner great to work with and good communication throughout. Close enough to Flagstaff for easy drive to dining and entertainment. We will return to Lone Elk Lodge! It's been months and my family is still talking about the place!

I really enjoyed the design of this cabin. The space was perfect for our family of six. The fireplace is delightful. I love how the cabin is so well equipped and nicely decorated. Thanks for the opportunity to allow our family to enjoy this lovely place. I love the views of the San Francisco Peaks. We also saw deer up close. We hope to come back in the near future.

Our second Christmas trip to the "Snow house" certainly didn't disappoint! It is as charming, warm and comfortable as we all remembered. There is snow on the ground and a fire in the fireplace. It's just perfect. Thank you for opening your home and giving us an opportunity to create a Christmas tradition.

What a wonderful way to celebrate Thanksgiving! Our families came together from near and far. We traveled from S. California and Arizona. Our parents, who are in their seventies, experienced the Grand Canyon for the first time! We created beautiful memories that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. Your home was just perfect for our family. The warmth of the fireplace brought happiness and a job for our son. The dining room table brought laughter and tears to us all. The winter wildness and mountain air cleansed our souls. Madeleine -- we appreciate your hospitality. Your home is beautiful. We hope to visit again in the future.

Thanks so much. We shared a wonderful, relaxing weekend with our daughter from NAU. Your home is so cozy - we especially loved being able to bring our dog who didn't discover the elk until the last night and went nuts! We hope to come back again! Thank you!
