Handicap Access
This home is fairly accessible for those with limited mobility since there is one bedroom and one bathroom on the main level. The main entrance has 3 steps to enter the home and there are large double doors. Once you are on the main level, there is a living room, kitchen, dining area, BBQ, two decks, TV in kitchen, one queen bedroom and one bathroom.
Layout/Walk through
You walk in through the front door and enter the main level dining area/living room. There is dining room seating for 18, plus another table that seats 4. To the left is the gourmet kitchen and there is a deck off of the kitchen with a large BBQ and deck furniture and views of the mountains and meadow. In this kitchen is a TV and a breakfast nook that seats 4-6 people. To the right after entering is a living room area and a hallway that leads to a bathroom on the left and then a Queen bedroom straight ahead. To the right is a door that leads into the garage with a ping pong table. I love ping pong so I invested in a $1200 professional Ketler table.
From the main level you can take the lighted stairs down to the lower level. The lower level living room has a pool table, wet bar, foosball table, couches and 70 inch TV. There is a sliding glass door that leads outside to the hot tub and backyard which features a lawn and sloping hill that goes into the meadow with hiking, jogging, cross country skiing trails. The backyard is fenced. From the living room there is a small bedroom on the right with a full bed and twin bed. Down the hallway in a bathroom and two bedrooms with queen beds.
From the main level, you can walk up the stairs to the master suite which is the entire top floor of the house. On the left is a large walk in closet which leads into the master suite bathroom with double sinks, large jacuzzi bath with chandelier, large separate glass shower and views of the mountains and meadow. The living room has a large couch with a TV, DVD player, DVD library, DirecTV service. The deck off of the master suite has a few chairs and tables and amazing views. You walk down the hallway to the bedroom which has a queen bed and another TV.
The guest house is above the 2nd garage which is a few steps from the entrance to the main house. This garage fits 4 cars and the garage on the main house fits 2 cars. The guest house has a large deck with deck furniture. When you walk in the guest house you are in the living room with a sofa bed, recliner, and TV, with DVD player, and DirecTV. There is a kitchen area with a large fridge, coffee maker, microwave, sink and table with 4 chairs. Walk down the wallway and there is a bathroom on the left with jacuzzi tub/shower, sink and washer and dryer. On the right down the wallway is the queen bedroom and if you continue down the hallway, there is a larger queen bedroom.
Viewings/Showings
I love when guests are able to stop by and view the home. I live in San Francisco but I drive up to Tahoe once a week to bring supplies, fix things, monitor construction projects in the home, etc. You can call me on my cell phone and arrange a time to view the home. I am only able to give tours when the homes are empty as I am sure you would not want guests viewing the home when you are occupying the house.
Snow Removal
I have a company that plows the driveway when there is more than 5 inches of snow. Remember to bring chains when traveling in the Sierras and bring extra food and water in your car. This home has a large level driveway.

If you are looking to rent a home in Tahoe, I recommend finding a private owner instead of using one of the agencies. Private owners take care of their homes much better than the large rental agencies since they care more. I live in San Francisco but I drive up to Tahoe about 3-4 times per month to check on my homes, fix any problems, buy new furniture, and bring up supplies.

This house is absolutely amazing! My family and I stayed here for my wedding 2 weeks ago and were VERY happy! The whole 3rd floor was perfect for me and my wedding party to get dressed and do hair and make up and take photos. The view from the decks is amazing and we also hosted a brunch the next day for friends and family and it was perfect. I would (and will) stay here again!Did you find this review helpful? We had decided to get married in Tahoe. We rented the Black Bart House for Labor Day of 2011 to house us and some of our friends that were going to attend the wedding. Once checked in, we realized that this house was spectacular. Not only would the house house fit most of our guests, we also quickly realized that it would be the perfect location for the ceremony. The back yard overlooks a beautiful meadow with a meandering stream. The ceremony was at 7 pm, just in time for a picturesque sunset shining over the meadow. As impromtu as the wedding was, the house made it seam like we had planned for months. With everyone in the same house and guest house, the gourmet chef's kitchen was perfect to feed all occupants and guests for the weekend. There are a bunch of perks with the house that make it one of a kind. The house has amazing features... the pool table, the fusball, the hottub, the jetted tub in the master bath, the list goes on and on... but it was the simple little things like the coffee maker, that was a huge hit and perfect for such a large number of people. Charles was very accommodating and worked with our needs for the wedding with such short notice. We are definitely DEFINITELY going to stay there again. In the summer it is only a cuple mile away from Lake Tahoe and in the winter it is 2 miles from Heavenly Ski Resort. And, if you want a little night life as well, the Casinos, such as Harrah's are 3 miles away. I really love the house and the location! So, .. The Black Bart vacation home was huge, clean and lot's of fun. After skiing at Heavenly (5 min. from the Cabin) this house is perfect for both relaxation and activity! We enjoyed the fussball, ping pong and hot tub while staying here. Also if you enjoy cooking, this house offers a huge gourment kitchen. I can really recommend the Black Bart rental if you are a group of people looking for luxury cabin rental in the South Lake Tahoe area.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

What a great place to stay... I wish I could live there! I stayed 3 nights and we saw the lake nearby, and really enjoyed the house comforts - spa, movies, pool table. My friends and I stayed 3 blissful nights at Black Bart house, and I loved how spacious the house is. Also we were entertained by pool, endless free movies, the hot spa, the great views. The lake is close by, and the windows face a peaceful serene meadow. The house was very modern, it had all the amenities needed for a big group vacation, such as jacuzzi, washer and drier, pool table, wifi among other things, and an excellent location which was only 5 minutes from downtown and around 10 minutes from the Lake. What I like best was the house itself since it was so beautiful and comfortable and what I like the least was that I was not able to enjoy all the amenities because my time was limited (I was there only for 2 days)Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.

I have stayed here several times and are always amazed at the size and amenities. It is also located conveniently close to South Lake Tahoe and Heavenly. A great thing about this house is that it is actually two houses, which is awesome for privacy, and long good nights of sleep. There's an outdoors hot tub under the stars, and a huge TV with tons of channels, a pool table, basically anything you may want. This is a great place I can not recommend warmly enough. I'm looking forward to go back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
