  we had a wonderful time. the weather was great. the owners, and Alice, were like talking to long time friends. crabbing was good and fishing fantastic. i now know what a puppy drum and a speck are. thanks guys.

  Couldn't have asked for better hosts, and of course Alice, made our stay so very enjoyable, the place is absolutely GORGEOUS, pictures don't do it justice. I can honestly say I've never watched a sunrise until this weekend, I sat on the fabulous dock and watched the sunrise every morning. We ate breakfast on the porch every day and night. We were sad to leave, but we will definitely be back. They have an onsite kayak, you can crab .. but honestly, the peace just being there, is beyond words.

  Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, sightseeing, pet owners, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

  6 of us stayed here over Labor Day weekend and we had a great time. The owners were very nice, helpful and generous. The house was clean and the crabbing off the dock was great. Seriously, you could feed an army with all the crab they have there. We brought our boats and went out to New Point Comfort Lighthouse and New Point Comfort beach which is one of my favorite experiences on the Chesapeake. Overall great time, it was worth every cent.

  Just returned from our second long weekend at this lovely cottage. Fantastic location, great for kayaking (you can take your own as well as use the one there), fishing & crabbing (the dock is perfect for this) and generally chillin'. Lots of nature to enjoy - this time we found six osprey nests as we kayaked and got some great photo's. We've been over holiday weekends and there was plenty of action on the water and some in the marina next to the cottage to observe without noise or disturbance. Cottage itself is really well equipped - very clean and with lots of the little extra's that make it feel very much like home from home. Owners live nearby and are very friendly and available to answer any questions but certainly do not intrude. We have three kids 9-14 years and they love it - however there is not much in the way of stores or restaurants unless you drive to Matthews so we take most of what we need and grill out in the evenings. Would thouroughly recommend as a great relaxing getaway.

  Staying at the Mobjack Bay Cottage is a little slice of heaven! This lovely cottage has wonderful water views from every window. Whether you want to read and sunbathe on the deck or pier, or go kayaking in the East River, this is a great place to kick back and relax!
