The Property Location is excellent with plenty of shopping and resturants in the Area. The property itself is in desperate need of updates. The beds are uncomfortable in all the rooms. 3 out of 4 tvs work. 2 with remotes if you can figure out how to operatate two side by side projection tvs with one remote. The inside was very clean but the outside had cob webs all over and the yard hadn't been kept up. The day of Thanksgiving the Oven broke. We had to improvise with the outside Grill. Not fun when there is a lot to bake. The carpets were stained, found two broken chairs, the curtains and blinds were damaged and some inoperable. Games for the kids were dated and missing pieces. I borrowed some billiard balls because the ones there where a mix. The house served the purpose for a large gathering both local and out of town.

Really comfortable home. We had a large group staying there and even a larger group coming by daily to play. The home's layout was perfect and we never felt on top of each other. Huge lot with cool fire pit down by the water. Everything in the home was not new or in perfect condition, but it was clean, comfortable and very user friendly. I have rented quite a few homes on Lake Keowee, and I will be coming back to this one next year.. I just hope its available.

We stayed at this house July 2010 and was very disappointed at the lack of upkeep in this home. Virtually no updates have been done, the board games are all pre-1990's as was the furniture. There were actual small saplings growing up from the gutters and spider webs everywhere outside! There were 2 large tv's side-by-side in the living room, but 1 of them did not work, so it just awkardly took up space. The house is large and sprawling, so if you are traveling with young kids I do not recommend this house, as it is impossible to keep an eye (or ear!) on the children from any one room of the house, long hallways, lots of stairs, etc. Also, the house never fully cooled off (dated AC unit) and the general disrepair of the house mad us sad we paid to rent it when there were so many other nice houses to choose from. The walk down to the lake is steep, long and hard, you will be winded after making the trip down to the lake. The pictures make the house look nice, but I have never been more diaappointed in a rental home. We do not recommend this home and we will NOT be back. (Note, the other reviews on this home are positive, but they are all from 2006 and 2008- we stayed in July 2010).
Owner response:I was diagnosed with cancer May 2010, and unable to check on the home as frequently as I have in the past. After receiving this surprising review I went to specifically review all of the complaints listed. The games are timeless, Risk, Scrabble, a deck of cards, a casino game pack (dated 2008.) As for the furniture, the master bedroom has solid wood Kincaid furniture in a classic style of deep cherry purchased between '03 and '06. Living room was done by a designer in '06. The dresser in another bedroom was purchased in '08. Of course we do have some family heirlooms, like my grandmothers rocking chair, but I never had a complaint against it. I was disappointed with the yard. We have since hired a new landscape company and believe they will do a lovely job this year. The 2 large TV’s in the main living room are for football season. Guests enjoy watching different games on big screens at the same time. Both tvs work just fine. There is only one set of stairs in the home that are in a U shape and open to the lower level. (4 steps then landing, 6 steps then landing, 4 steps done.) So I am not sure what the “lots of stairs” comment meant. We have never been told our home is sprawling either. Our family has children between the ages of 1 and 13 years. We have never had a problem keeping track of any of them. Most families love that there are separate bathrooms for the bedrooms and one comment we often receive is “the layout is great, no one ever felt like they were on top of each other.” As for the walkway to the lake, I tell everyone the same thing, “It is an S shape walk that is a little steep. My Grandfather who is in his late 80’s does just fine. My grandmother who uses a walker regularly can not.” We are a fairly fit, active family who love being outdoors, hiking, camping, boating, and jet skiing. We have NEVER claimed to be the newest fanciest house on the lake. We do not have a pad for our helicopter to land (like a home around the way). We do have a large (approx. 4000sqft) relaxing home on 2.5 acres that fits multiple families Comfortably. We do have Lindal post and beam style home that is in an older neighborhood with Large, private lots. We do have an awesome, big cove with deep water and great covered dock with sun deck. If you are coming to the lake to enjoy the outdoors, unwind, relax, and have a good time, then we hope your family enjoys our Carolina Lake getaway as much as we do and as much as our many guests who come back year after year!!!

We have been visiting Lake Keowee since 1997 and we have stayed in this home since 2006. We LOVE the location. It is close to everything, dining, boat ramp, grocery, Keowee Marina and Tiki Hut! We love how private the cove is for such a large one. The kids take their canoes out for hours. We also have 2 jet skis we bring and there is a drive up dock for both of them. The kitchen fits all of us, and there is space for all of us to do what we want to do. I like to sit on the dock and read in the sun! This home is comfortable and peaceful, and Great Getaway! THANKS!

We have stayed at this house three times and have it reserved again this summer. No better review than that! Great location on the lake and near Seneca. Plenty or room for three families. Good dock.
Owner response:We are so happy you love our home!

Our family fell in love with this beautiful, spacious home. We spent all of our days on the wonderful dock while enjoying swimming, skiing, boating, and fishing. Our evenings were occupied with playing pool, games, grilling, and enjoying the deck and screened porch. So much to do, so little time! We plan to return next summer and can hardly wait!

This was a perfect house for our large family. Each year we rent a home in the area for a family get-together, Clemson tailgate weekend, and this was our best choice yet. It was so spacious, comfortable, and fun. Best of all, it was stocked with things for the children (ping pong, crib, train table, cards). We will definitely reserve again next year.

Perfect house, perfect vacation, perfect lake! Loved our vacation at this house. LOTS of sleeping space, big kitchen, game room, right on the lake, very clean. Fantastic for large or small groups. Babies to Great-Grandparents loved it!

This home was everything we were told. Extremely comfortable and Spacious for our family and extended family that came to BBQ and play. The family loved the dock and cove. It was quiet and perfect for kayaking and swimming. We have already re-booked for next summer! Thank you!
Owner response:Thank you for visiting with us over the last 4 years, Can't wait to have you back in 2011!
