Le Chemin Des Reves
PROVENCE--the one word that fills our minds with images of perched villages under clear blue skies, fields of lavender in bloom, bright red poppies, golden yellow sunflowers and olive trees full of fruit. The jewels of Provence that have drawn artists, dreamers and lovers of history to this area for centuries are waiting for you.
We invite you to come to LE CHEMIN DES REVES and discover this perfect spot for your dream vacation. LE CHEMIN DES REVES is located 2.8 kilometers (approximately 1.6 miles) from the heart of "One of the Most Beautiful Villages of France" the perched village of Gordes. The walled city of Avignon is just a 30 minute drive away, the beautiful village of Chateaneuf-du-Pape, which is surrounded by the vines of some of the premier wine makers in the world, is only a 40 minute drive from the house. And, in one hour or less, you can be in the Camargue or in Arles, see the Pont de Gard or visit Aix-in-Provence. Let your curiosity lead you towards wonderful discoveries: Roman ruins, village markets, outdoor concerts, fabulous restaurants, castles, historic villages--just choose a road and follow it to discover something new every day.
LE CHEMIN DES REVES is very well equipped to meet your every need. You will find a fully stocked kitchen with all the pots, pans and accessories that are necessary to prepare delicious meals using produce that you will find in the local markets. Market day in Gordes is Tuesday morning and the definitely not-to-be-missed farmers market in Coustellet is every Sunday morning. The dining room table can easily accommodate 8 people for wonderful dinner parties and you will find plenty of dishes, silverware, glassware and linens for your use.
The den is equipped with satellite TV, radio/CD player, DVD player, WiFi (if you bring your laptop), copier/fax/printer, and IPod player. You will find a great collection of CD's from classical to country, a wide variety of DVD's and many books and magazines available for your enjoyment.
The fantastic 11 x 5 meter swimming pool and adjacent pool house offer spectacular views of the Calavon Valley and the mountains of the Luberon and Vaucluse. The pool house has a summer kitchen equipped with BBQ and rotisserie, small refrigerator, sink and comfortable furniture for relaxing. At the rear of the main house you will find a stone picnic table to sit and enjoy leisurely meals in the shade of the oak trees.
All three bedrooms and bathrooms are very comfortable and each is fully equipped with linens, towels, shower soap, hair dryer and radio/CD/alarm clock. The master suite also has a bathtub and the adjacent sitting room has direct access to the terrace, gardens and swimming pool.
In the evening, after touring the Luberon during the day, come back to LE CHEMIN DES REVES and relax on the terrace with a nice glass of local wine. Under the waning light of the evening sun, the lights of the many villages of the Luberon that dot the valley and hillsides bekon for another journery into the heart of Provence. A perfect ending to a perfect day.

We had a wonderful stay at this property, the pictures in the website don't describe half of what it really is, specially the views from the pool area of the Luberon valley. The house is perfectly distributed and oriented in the 1 Ha lot, it is superbly furnished and with lots of literature of Provence, kindly and neatly provided by the owners. The pool house is such a great place to admire the sunsets while enjoying barbecue in a wood fired grill. Gordes is an incredible place and its views from the road approaching it are really stunning. The manager of the property was very kind and friendly from our first contact by email, through our stay and post-stay contacts. We just hope we can come back soon and be able to enjoy again this superb house.

One of the best houses we have ever rented. Just like being in a friend's home. It is so welcoming with everything you could ever need. Location is terrific for daily excursions and visits to local markets. Beverly, the manager, was very helpful and answered all questions before we arrived. Wonderful views with a fenced in pool which is great for two year old grandson. Our family had a such a good time there and one of the main reasons was the house. It was perfect for us. We definitely would recommend it and hope to return next year.

My wife and I, along with my brother and wife, and sister and husband stayed at Le Chemin des Reves for a week this September. The villa was perfect for us. It is roomy, beautifully decorated, and comfortable. We cooked two dinners and several breakfasts in the fully equipped kitchen, and had one barbeque in the pool house… charcoal and lighter fluid provided. There are three bedrooms in the villa, and here I have to offer a little tip. If you go there with two other couples and draw straws for the rooms… CHEAT. You must try to stay in the master suite. It is huge; complete with a fabulous sitting area (with fireplace), bedroom and full bath. The sitting area overlooks the pool and is perfect for viewing the valley, mountains, and sunsets. The other two bedrooms were fine and each had its own bath. We ate several meals on the front porch and were able to watch sunsets and one rain storm while staying perfectly dry. I must say that the sunsets were beautiful. Our hats are off to Gary and Cathy for thinking of everything with at Le Chemin des Reves. We must also thank Beverly, the local manager, for greeting us at the door, showing us around, explaining how things work, answering questions, and being available whenever we needed any help. She also made dinner reservations for us at several great restaurants. All in all, I can’t say enough about our stay at Le Chemin des Reves and the surrounding area.

Two Weeks in Provence Wasn't Enough

My husband, our two daughters (ages 13 and 7) stayed at this property the first two weeks of August. We had a wonderful stay. The property was beautiful and it suited our needs perfectly. This was the first time that we've rented a home rather than stay in a hotel and it was wonderful to have so much space to spread out in. We were also able to let our teenager sleep in while everyone else got up and had breakfast which made for a much more relaxing holiday! Customer service was excellent - both from the owners answering questions when we first contacted them - and from Beverly, the property manager, on-site. One morning of our stay we had no hot water (after a storm and a temporary loss of power), we advised Beverly before we went out for the day and by the time we returned a few hours later she had had a contractor in and the problem repaired. This property worked very well as a base for exploring Provence on day trips. We were able to visit Avignon, Aix-en-Provence, Arles, Oranges and many small villages in the area. We even went to Eze on the Riviera for a day. Most days we went out for a few hours and then came back to enjoy the back garden and the pool (which were lovely). The kids loved having the pool to play in at the end of a hot day touring around. Gordes (and Provence in general) is stunning, there are lots of wonderful restaurants nearby and no shortage of things to do to keep busy for a couple of weeks. We also enjoyed shopping at the local market for some of the best produce I've ever tasted. Shopping, in general, in Provence was wonderful. I would definitely recommend this property to friends or relatives and if our family was returning to vacation in this area then we wouldn't even consider another property.

We spent a couple of weeks in this wonderful villa at the beginning of July 2010. We really appreciated the peaceful surrounding at Le chemin des rêves. This location is perfect to do day trips in the region. Also, at a few minutes car drive, we discovered "Traiteur and Restaurant Gouin" that offered all you need for a good meal. We would recommend this property to anyone who plans a trip in this region. This location will be our first choice should we ever return to this region.

My in-laws, husband and I had a wonderful week in the Luberon thanks to this lovely house and pool! It's very well-equipped, particularly in terms of cooking facilities (indoor and out), and a perfect base from which to explore the Luberon. It's even better in person than in the photos.

Thanks to Gary and Kathy and Beverly for making our holiday in Provence such a success! House functioned great for a 3-kid family and all our concerns were responded to promptly and kindly. Cooking was a great pleasure in the well equipped kitchen, beds comfortable, the whole property clean and fresh, the owners trust heart warming in leaving such a collection of dvds etc. at the renters disposal. Would recommend this house for anyone looking for a good quality property at a fantastic location in Luberon.

After decades of traveling to Europe, and to France in particular, we have settled on the Vaucluse as a favorite destination. We have rented eight different houses within a close radius of the spectacular hilltop vllage of Gordes, each of them special in its own way. We have often fantasized about taking the best feature of each of them (best view, gourmet kitchen, comfiest living room, nicest pool area, best location etc.,etc.) and creating the perfect house. Finally we have found Gary and Cathy Collins' home Le Chemin des Reves on the Col de Gordes. We will be returning in September for the fourth time and know it will feel like returning home!! On a gated property, surrounded by ancient stone walls, with a "borie", an olive grove and a lavender field, the Collinses have created a wonderful private retreat in the midst of a vibrant and endlessly fascinating region of France. Just returned from Provence and a week at Le Chemin Des Reves and what a great time we had. The photos on the website do not provide proper justice to this exquisite property. The villa is outstanding inside and out, the views of the Luberon even better. The location was perfect for quick day trips and the suggestions of local restaurants were outstanding. The owners (Gary and Cathy) caretaker (Beverly) were extremely helpful from start to finish, making this a memorable journey. I'd reserve Les Chemin Des Reves again in a heartbeat.

WOW! I don't expect we'll ever stay at a finer property. Le Chemin des Reves exceeded all of our expectations and for one week, we felt like we were among France's most elite. The home is spacious, immaculate and tastefully done with a superior view. There were quaint little villages and wineries nearby, but we truly looked forward to getting "home" every day to spend time just relaxing around the pool followed by wonderful dinners we cooked in the lovely kitchen. Three couples can easily rent this place and have plenty of room to spend time together or go off and read a book. I think it would be nearly impossible to find a comparable or better rental anywhere in the area. Thanks for a great vacation!
