  My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary and his birthday. We were so happy with this condo, especially the patio/lanai. We walked over to the resort (Whalers Village) and walked on the Kaanapali Beach, and were both happy we picked a more private and intimate place. Every day we were able to see turtles, we named one "Tory the Turtle" because we swear the same one kept coming back! We were able to see whales and one morning a family of whales was dancing and turning and doing flips so much that we thought they were having a showdown! So fun!!!! The sunsets were gorgeous, we saw 2 awesome rainbows and it was hard to leave such a calming place to venture out, but we did. Some of our favorites: Mama's Fish House, coffee, breakfast croissants and chocolate croissants at Hawaiian Island Coffee, Coffee and pineapple cake at the Coffee Store, Gazebo Restaurant for brunch, Sunrise at the Haleakala Crater, french toast at Java Jazz, Aloha Mixed Plate's lava flow drinks and fried rice, happy hour at the 5 palms Lahaina (half off sushi baby!) the DJ Flemings Beach (quieter, more locals), Pineapple Grills pineapple upside down cake, Onos Tacos, Ono Kau Kau (Shrimp Lo Mein), Lahaina Grill for our anniversary, Old Lahaina Luau for my husband's birthday (the food was our least favorite but the entertainment and experience was fun!!), and shopping in Lahaina. I bought some fun jewelry that was inexpensive in Lahaina. All in all, a very good time!!!! If we get back to Maui we would highly recommend staying here!

  What a perfect condo! Who doesn't love to wake up, sit on the lanai eating breakfast while watching the whales? Amazing! Everything was great. This condo is very nice and clean with everything you need. It's close to everything like groceries, coffee shops, restaurants, rentals, etc. be sure to check out maui brew pub just up the road, it was a fav. I could go on and on but it would be a novel. Maui is beautiful and I would definitely recommend this condo! Jill was also great to deal with and made sure everything was perfect for us! Mahalo Jill!

  Jill and Hula Hideaways run an outstanding operation!! Very informative, flexible and friendly to work with. We spent our anniversary here and it was every bit as good as pictured in the listing. The unit was well-appointed with everything we might need (including a nice welcome basket!), and very comfortable. Dining out can be pricey in Hawaii, so it was great to have the use of the kitchenette to save a bit of money. Did I mention the view, which was amazing! The balcony was perfect for dinner with unreal, dramatic sunsets behind Moloka‘i, as well as watching two big sea turtles and a stingray cruising along the shoreline. The location is ideal, too, with fantastic coves nearby for snorkeling with turtles, the Nakalele Blowhole, the Black Rock jumpers at the Sheraton resort, and day trips on the Road to Hana. Thanks again so much, can't wait to visit again!

  My husband and I stayed here for 8 nights in September 2012 and it was fantastic. The photos are very accurate! The room was beautifully decorated, the deck overhanging the water was awesome, and the whole ambiance was perfect. Sunsets every evening and turtle watching every day :) The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, dish soap etc. Toiletries are not provided so don't forget to bring shampoo/conditioner/hand soap etc. The neighborhood was nice and relaxed (not like the big resort areas, which we hate!), with a grocery store, coffee shop, pizza place etc right across the street. There were several beaches within short driving distance nearby (Napili, Kapalua) and even a walking beach next door (which we didn't get a chance to go to). Jill was always prompt in answering emails/calls and was very helpful. If we ever return to Maui, we will definitely stay here again.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

  Well, it's been 50 days since we have been here and all we do is dream about going back! I close my eyes and imagine it often. The waves crashing just below you are divine. My husband and I had the most wonderful time anyone could have celebrating our 10 year anniversary here. The details that were put into this little spot were great. The love and care for it were evident. It was beyond perfect...we've stayed twice before in a huge condo complex and never again will we do that. We are forever fans of this little spot right here!! We will be back and have already recommended it to others who come yearly as well.

  For our first trip to Maui, we couldn't have asked for a better place to spend our five days! The condo was just amazing and exactly what we were looking for. When we arrived the check-in process was quick and painless, so we were able to quickly enjoy a refreshing beverage on the balcony located literally steps from the water. In fact, we did this quite often as every single evening we watched a group of four sea turtles swim and feed directly of the balcony! The bed was just as comfortable, if not more, than any five star hotels we've ever been too. The decorations and furniture really made the place feel better than home and made it even easier to relax. Several great places to eat are a short walk or drive away, and a beach that can be reached on foot in a short five minute stroll. When we return to Maui sometime in the not to distance future, this will be first on our list of places to stay.

  Jill, (the owner of the condo) was such a pleasure to work with. She answered all my questions and was very helpful, detail oriented, and kind. I booked this condo for my honeymoon. When my wife and I walked into the condo, we could not believe how wonderful the unit was. The unit was very clean. The entire unit is decorated very well. It is romantic and chic, like it says in the listing title. Once we caught glimpse of the view, we were blown away! The photos do not show how beautiful the view actually is. We were literally stunned, and moved straight to the lanai (balcony) and stayed out there for a while just absorbing the spectacular and unbelievable view. We stood there in awe of how beautiful and blessed we were to have this unit for our honeymoon! The lanai is very large and very wide. We watched many many beautiful sunsets from the lanai and we enjoyed dinner out on the outdoor table a few times as well. We heard several travelers complain they could not see the sun set over the ocean because of where they were staying at different hotels/condos, so the sun would set over one of the islands located out west from Maui instead. At Hula Hideaway, the sun sets right over the water and it is beautiful every single night! The lanai is very private as well, it is difficult if not impossible to see inside the unit from the outside. The unit had plenty of room for my wife and I, and I am a big guy. It has a nice living room area, nice sized bed area, nice sized kitchen and bathroom. Like I said earlier, everything is decorated very beautifully. There are several dining options located near the condo (many of which are open late). General shops, gas stations, fast food, sports bar, beer brewery, dining, and other types of shops are within walking distance as well. The condo is located very close to Lahaina. The in-unit washer/dryer was very helpful. My wife and I both agreed that the condo was beautiful and that it greatly exceeded our high expectations. The location was perfect and close to everything. I have rented from VRBO before, all with pleasant experiences, but I have to say that Jill and this condo has been the best. Thank you so much, Jill. Your condo was beautiful and it was perfect in every way!! We will always remember your hospitality and your Hula Hideaway condo as part of our beautiful, unforgettable honeymoon memories!! Thanks again!!! We will be back!!!! Mahalo!!!!!

  Aloha Jill! My new husband and I had the most wonderful honeymoon in your beautiful condo. We were so grateful not to be at a "resort" and have a little home so close to the water. I think I took more pictures of sea turtles and rainbows from the lanai than I did of anything else in Maui! It was a quick drive to Lahaina for dinner and we tried out a few different beaches. Napili Beach was our favorite :) Even though we went after whale season, we did see one whale while fishing :) The scuba shop up the road was perfect and helped us book 3 different scuba diving trips :) The kitchen had everything you could ask for and it was all decorated beautifully with delicate touches. Loved it! I would highly recommend staying at the Hula Hideaway, especially since it is literally 10 feet from the water, you can see 2 different islands, parking is convenient and it is so close to anything you want. We loved the coffee shop at Gateway and tried the steak house and brewery too :) Thank you for making your home our home for 10 wonderful days! Mahalo!

  We absolutely LOVED our stay at the Hula Hideaway!!! The place: The Hula Hideaway is cozy and sweet, and very romantic. And PRIVATE! Although you're on the third floor of a small complex, it honestly felt to us like we were completely alone the whole time. To stand in the room and look out and see nothing but ocean and the neighboring islands off in the distance was incredible, and the sunsets and the whales were magnificent! To have the crashing waves lull us to sleep at night was an experience we won't forget! The bed is big and comfy and the sitting area is great. The kitchen and bathroom are small but definitely adequate, and the whole place is just charming!! It was better than what we had pictured, and the description and photos were great. The location: The west coast of Maui is amazing!! The Hula Hideaway was easy to find, in a nice area right on the coast. It is between Ka'anapali and Kapalua, and a short drive from Lahaina. There are several beaches in the area, including the Ka'anapali, which was our favorite. There are a few restaurants within walking distance, including our favorite, Maui Brewing Company. It was awesome to get to walk to/from the restaurant! The location feels safe and it's awesome to be right in the mix of the resort hotels, but yet it feels really, really private. Honestly, when you're on the lanai, you cannot see another building (unless you try to!). LOVED that! Maui: Of the 4 Hawaiian islands I've been to, Maui is hands-down my favorite. It's pretty, scenic, clean, and has an upscale feel in most places, but it's still very comfortable and friendly. The things we did that I recommend: Drive north to the Nakalele Blowhole, and do the hike. It's pretty and a great workout! Drive the road to Hana, but make sure the driver is confident and do your research about where you want to stop along the way before you go, to make it more enjoyable. (And rent a convertible, it was AMAZING!). Do a whale watch. Although we could see whales right from the lanai of the property, it was incredible to get close to the amazing creatures (if you go during the right season). And enjoy the beaches, and walk around Lahaina (we didn't get enough time to do this, so it's on my "must do" list for next time!) In all, this was my favorite part of our trip (after spending time on both Oahu and Kauai as well). I cannot wait to go back, and I will absolutely stay at the Hula Hideaway again! It was wonderful!!

  We just returned from the hula hideaway and have to say that it was absolutely amazing. The condo could not have a better location (right on top of the ocean). Every night we fell asleep to the crashing waves right out front of the condo. The condo is also very well equipped with anything you may need on a Hawaiian vacation right down to the binoculars for viewing the turtles right below the lanai. We liked the place so much that we actually booked our next vacation to the Hula Hideaway before we even left. We would recommend the Hula Hideaway for sure to friends and family. Cant wait to return for whale watching season.. :)
