The name says it all. This five-bedroom beauty is as close to the river as the law and nature will allow, and overlooks one of the best beaches on the lower Russian River. With a large, gracious living/dining area, huge deck, BBQ, hot tub, patio, 2 canoes, and spacious fenced back yard, this is the perfect vacation home for a family or larger group.

Beach House has five bedrooms a California king in the master suite, a queen-size, double and twin bunk beds in the other three upstairs bedrooms, and a twin daybed in the downstairs bedroom. The custom-made sofa in the living room can also sleep one person.

From layout to décor, the Beach House is gracious and tasteful. There is a nice 27-inch TV in the armoire, and the dining table seats 12 people. The windows look out onto the deck, and beyond that, the river. The whole house is oriented toward the river and morning sun. There is a 16 x 24 deck, which is very big.

Everything on the river side of the house is drenched in sunlight all morning. The large fenced-in garden is perfect for napping, picnicking, or playing with your kids and/or dog. There are about a dozen fruit trees providing you with free food in the summer.

MUCH MUCH BETTER THAN THE PICTURES!

Date of Stay: 09/16/10 Review Submitted: 06/12/11

This was our second stay, and our family hopes to come back again. (Once for a family reunion, and again for a college reunion because it was so much fun the first time!) Beautiful, comfortable, and right on the River! The pictures don't show that it has views from a top master-bedroom balcony, and a HUGE deck on the back of the house. Lots of room for our three-generation family! Beautifully furnished. Lots of ammenities and nice high-end touches like good quality sheets, canoes, outdoor shower, etc., but also loads of comfort and warmth. The dining table seated all 10 of us with room to spare. Nicely situated for wine tasting (we loved westside road) and hikes in Armstrong woods or up Westside road. We had warm days, but a couple chilly nights, so the wood-fired stove was great. (There is CH&A, but the stove was so much more charming.) Rob was super-helpful and gratious with suggestions on places to shop, visit, etc. Even our silliest questions were answered with kindness and good-humor. Forestville is more restful than Guernville, yet more central in many ways. We went to Boon for dinner one night, and into Healdsburg the next. The drive both ways through the winery was lovely. But mostly we stayed put, played games, relaxed and read in the hammocks ... without anything else that would've been plenty. My husband and I have stayed at various places in the RR over the years, and this is now our very favorite.
