The setting: The property is an extremely spacious first and second floor Victorian flat in the centre of the delightful little highland Perthshire village of Kinloch Rannoch, 16 miles from Pitlochry and 15 miles from Aberfeldy and 13 miles form Kenmore and glorious Loch Tay. From the property there are unrivalled views of nearby Schiehallion and Craig Varr. Schiehallion is many peoples favourite amongst the Munros (mountains over 3000 feet high) in Scotland, with its famous cone-shape, well enjoyed from Kinloch Rannoch making it one of Scotlands most distinctive too. Schiehallion is otherwise known as the 'Fairy Mountain of the Caledonians' - and was a place of worship for the Picts.
The location of Kinloch Rannoch at the very epicentre of Scotland makes a sensational touring base and a great stress-busting tranquil escape too. Just ideal for weekend breaks, escapes and holidays here in glorious Highland Perthshire at the heart of Scotland.
The Local Area: Outdoor pursuits on offer in the vicinity are plentiful and include golfing, rock climbing, hill walking, mountain climbing, white water rafting, canoeing, sailing, wind surfing, cycling and pony trekking. Pitlochry, Aberfeldy, Blair Atholl, Perth and Inverness are all within easy driving distance.
Fishing on the Loch Rannoch is from shore or boat (permit required). Fishing boat and fishing rod hire, white water rafting, canoeing, cliff jumping, archery and mountain bike hire.
While you are at Craignevis you may wish to take the train from Rannoch Station to Fort William or Mallaig. This may easily be reached on the West Highland Railway Line (known as one of the greatest and world's most scenic railway journeys).
