There is no place like this in the United States. If your looking for a unique place that has every dimension possible for a fun vacation this is it... especially if your a GEAR HEAD Family.
Silver Lake is the Eastern United States largest Sand Dune where the State actually lets you drive on them all you want. All you need is any four-wheel drive vehicle and your guiding yourself. Zero gravity anyone! Just get a little speed up when your going over the dune named "Test Hill." Do you like to hear girls scream? Guaranteed.
When you have had enough of that and your ears hurt you can walk over to the dune that drops vertical into Silver Lake. Start running down as fast as you can, you'll wipe out, summersalt a few time, and end at the bottom in the clear blue water, you may want to wash the sand out of your nose... you won't be alone here because the radical sandy shoreline here is a mecca for boaters to beach party on, water ski, sand board, wind surf, wakeboard, kiteboard, you name it.
Beached out? Lets go to the sand drags tonight, but first lets go out for dinner, grab a ice cream cone, ride the go carts, check out the tourist shops. Tomorrow we can check out the Lighthouse, go golfing or horseback riding or rent bikes and sightsee.
