BEACH - We are within 900 feet to the beach, a gorgeous 5 to 8 mins walk (depending on your pace) past meticulous manicured lawns and several lagoons with lots of wildlife to watch on your way(turtles, heron and more) to the beach boardwalk. Don't want to walk your family & all that gear to the beach? Drive your family & gear to our boardwalk entrance and park at our Buck Island guests only parking lot for the day. Bathrooms/showers and a beach cabana for refreshments/rentals are conveniently located right at the boardwalk entrance. Enjoy our great dunetop sundecks too.

Why the Owner Chose Buck Island
Buck Island is wonderful! The lovely architecture of this subdivision is a treat for the eyes. Every house is different in some unique way. We love the closeness to two great shopping centers, wine and sandwich delis, DQ, The Fudgery, Kitty Hawk Kites, boutiques, such as Mustang Sally's, restaurants, bumper cars, mini-golf, movies and much more. Close proximity to the Currituck lighthouse, and the new wildflife museum and the restored Whalehead Club at the Currituck Heritage Park. It is open daily, year-round from dawn to dusk There is a summer concert series on the lawn of the Historic Whalehead Club, July 4th fireworks, the Oaks, art festival and afternoon wine festivals. The Outer Banks Center for Wildlife Education next door to the Whalehead club offers educational programs for all ages such as birding, kayaking, decoy carving , fishing, nature walks, and photography and many more. There is so much to enjoy about the Buck Island area!!

The top decks have pocket views of the ocean. The 18' x 32' kidney shaped pool is for your swimming pleasure as is the hot tub located together. You can access it either from the queen room, carport or game room for your fun in the sun. Also, enjoy the granite countertops and breakfast bar in the kitchen.

We love the ocean, the wildlife and the easy going pace of the Outer Banks. There is no other place quite like the Outer Banks of NC! There is much to explore, the Currituck lighthouse, the wild ponies and driving on the beach, the Currituck Wildlife Museum located next to the Currituck lighthouse.
We live in Northern Virginia and it is very relaxing to enjoy the ocean, sand and beach in the Northern beaches of Corolla!

Perfect location, convenient to Timbuctu for drinks and appetizers, shopping next door, and close to the beach. What a beautiful beach too, wide and great sand. We will definately be back for such a effortless vacation. We pulled in, unloaded our stuff and never set foot in the car for a week, used the bikes or walked to get groceries. Listing was accurate and photos well represented the inside and outside of the property. Very clean and tidy, you can tell the owner takes extra effort to keep up with the details. Great pool too. Ahh... can't wait to get back next year!
Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with teenagers, age 55+, tourists without a car, pet owners, sightseeing, families with young children.

What a relaxing property. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. Plenty of room for the kids & guests. The beach is just 2 blocks or so from the house. In addition, shopping and retail locations are within several blocks in the other direction. Ride bikes provided by the owner or just stroll to either location as needed. The pool and hot tub were a hit after spending time body surfing on the beach. Enjoy the relaxing two story porch to view the area and relax in the ocean breeze.
Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, tourists without a car, sightseeing, families with young children.
