This cozy upscale retreat is as perfect for romantic couples as it is for families looking for fun in Lake Tahoe "The year round playground." Just 2 blocks from pristine Lake Tahoe near Carnelian Bay. This cabin is available on a nightly, weekend, and weekly basis.
Located on Tahoe's north shore in prestigious Agate Bay, you will have excellent access to the north shore beaches and all major ski areas in the North Tahoe/Truckee area. 4 beaches are within 1/2 - 2 miles. Northstar, Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, Diamond Peak and Homewood Ski Resorts are all less than 15 miles. North Lake Tahoe Stateline is 5 minutes away and South Lake Tahoe Stateline is 30 miles away. Heavenly Valley is a 45-minute drive.
Our cabin faces Lake Tahoe. Upstairs is a fabulous great room with vaulted ceilings, red oak hardwood floors and accent carpets. The dining room table seats 8-10, while the antique gaming table can seat an additional 4-6. There are many large windows looking out to the forest and a peek-a-boo view of the lake from the antique gaming table. There are many beautiful antiques in this cabin providing its warm and cozy feeling. The gas burning fireplace and hydronics heating system thru-out enhance the comfort and warmth. This home is complete with a 32-inch flat screen TV, CD, DVD and VCR player. A home theatre system will compliment everything you choose to watch or listen to. Our luxurious leather sofa, loveseat and easy chair lend themselves superbly to relaxing and unwinding.
The kitchen is complete with Maple cabinets and Granite Counter Tops. Large side-by-side refrigerator includes an icemaker. Enjoy the ease of cooking with a flat top electric range. Outfitted for the serious cook, this kitchen makes it fun to create delicious meals for all those family and friends gaming happily. We've included place settings for 12, quality utensils and cookware.
Step out to the ample deck accessed by French doors; enjoy the view of Lake Tahoe while you grill your favorite meal on our stainless steel gas barbeque. Warm weather months dine al fresco with seating for six at the patio table. Settle in to the pair of lounge chairs for some relaxing conversation. Another perfect place for gaming and enjoyment.
This home has 4 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms on the first level. The bedrooms are all equipped with a TV/VCR combo mounted on the wall. All beds are furnished with high quality Egyptian Cotton Sheets. A kitchenette off the master suite is equipped with a microwave, small refrigerator, granite counter tops and maple cabinets. It is our convenient “Mini Kitchen” . This room also includes a Maytag Neptune stackable washer and dryer. Just outside is the hot tub comfortably accommodating four.
Snuggle down in the master suite queen bed with tempurpedic style mattress. You are guaranteed to “melt” into this bed! The private bath includes large soaking tub and shower. A small wood-burning stove will insure that cozy nights sleep. There is also a roll-top desk with DSL Wireless Internet. This master suite was later added to the cabin creating a separate wing of privacy.
The second bedroom was the original master bedroom prior to the addition. Like the master suite it also has a queen bed and private bath with a shower. This bedroom is furnished with all antiques. The third bedroom has a queen bed with an antique headboard and antique marble top nightstands. The fourth bedroom is equipped with 1 set of twin pine bunk beds. A full bath services these two bedrooms and includes a shower/tub combo.
Agate Bay is a highly desired residential area that has retained the beauty and serenity of the Tahoe basin. There are lots of open spaces in this neighborhood that boasts nice homes on large forested lots. We are located 6 miles east of Tahoe City and 2 miles west of Kings Beach near Carnelian Bay. North Lake Tahoe has minimal traffic, with none of the crowds, congestion, and commercialism of the south shore. (There is not a single traffic signal for an 8-mile stretch of the North Shore, where this home is located!) Our family has had other homes in Agate Bay for almost 40 years...this is without a doubt one of the best locations in the Tahoe basin!
The neighborhood is quiet, very friendly and great for walking. Our home is only 2 blocks from National Forest Land, where you will find a wonderful walking or biking trail through the woods to Patton Beach on Carnelian Bay. Or one can hike or mountain bike uphill through the forest to Brockway Summit for panoramic lake views and access to a maze of Forest Service roads! In the winter, cross-country, snow shoeing and skiing is right outside your door.
There is ample parking in the driveway for 3 cars or 2 cars and a boat. Three boat-launching ramps are within a 6-mile drive of Agate Bay. Sand Harbor is a scenic 20 minute drive and hosts a fourth boat ramp.
In closing we would like to say that as owners of this home we have made every attempt to make this cabin as user friendly as possible. We love to have a good time and this house is conducive to this mindset of ours. It is a fun, warm, cozy cabin with great amenities. If you choose our home for your next vacation I feel confident you will come away with memories that will last for years to come!!! My parents and brother also have homes in Agate Bay just two blocks away. So If your planning a reunion or just need more space we can check availability for you.

Hey Greg.. Honestly we had a great time staying there. What we enjoyed the most was just hanging out in the "great room" and the deck. The BBQ came in very handy. The entire upstairs seemed to be very accomodating for 8 people to relax and enjoy each other without being crowded. We don't have anything negative to say about the place at all. Actually, we liked it so much that we would be interested in staying in the same place during the winter (just to see how things compare when surrounded by snow). My personal suggestion... foozeball table would be great :-) Anyhow, thanks again and I'll keep you bookmarked for our next trip. Chris

Everyone loved the leather chairs & sofas. They were extremely comfortable and soft. We also commented on how comfortable the mattresses were. Most of the time the beds in rentals are horrible but not so at your place. We loved the grill. It was very high quality. All in all, we had a really great time and loved the location. Erica
