Enjoy paradise from this oceanfront condo only steps away from world-class snorkeling and surfing. The beautiful, recently remodeled condo (in April 2007)is located in sunny Poipu, the dryer side Kauai. From your own private lanai, you can enjoy the gorgeous views of sunsets and the sweet sound of the ocean. Watch the sea turtles play in the cove just outside your living room. The snorkeling out the glass sliding door off the kitchen and living room is some of the best on Kauai. The warm sand on the cove's beach, only steps away, will invite you to relax and take a rest or read a book. If you are looking to catch some waves, the surf is only a short paddle away!
The condo (#103) has one bedroom and one bath, a living room, dining room and a complete kitchen with center island. The living room and dining room has floor to ceiling glass with unobstructed views of the ocean. Open the sliding door and fresh ocean breezes will gently blow into the living areas of the condo. The living room also has internet cable to hook up your laptop and work or browse the internet while listening to the sounds of the ocean and watching the turtles play.
The kitchen is fully stocked with any cooking supply or serving dish you might need. It is fully equipped with a microwave oven, stove, blender, toaster, coffee maker . . everything and anything you might need for making your own meals while watching the ocean.
You will find a comfortable King size bed in the bedroom and ceiling fan to keep you cool at night. There is also a full size sofa-bed in the living room for additional sleeping arrangements. The extra clean bathroom has a tile floor and bath/shower. The bathroom is stocked with clean towels and toiletries.
This strictly nonsmoking condo has everything you might need plus you are as close to the ocean as you can get without actually swimming in it!

More than what we expected. The owner said we could enjoy our morning coffee on the lanai over-looking the water. I pictured a distant view of the ocean at best. What a nice surprise to open the front door and see the entire living room wall of glass over-looking the small bay just a few feet from the patio. The condo was pretty, well equipped, comfortable and clean. When we would asked where to snorkel close by nearly everyone said "by the Beach House" which is just on the other side of the condo, and it was excellent with many fish and oh those big green turtles were something else. We enjoyed ten nights in a very relaxed, slow moving, conveniently located, beautiful area of Kauai.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

Just back from a 5-night stay and had a great time. Noel was super helpful and responsive with all my questions before our trip, and the condo was just as described. Clean, convenient, well-stocked, and the location 20 yards from the water (and turtles!) really can't be beat!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, people with disabilities, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

We loved the condo it is a great location for a relaxing vacation. We debated between an upper floor unit (more private w/longer views) and this ground floor unit (easy access to the lawn and beach) and we think we chose the best. We spent hours on the lanai and lawn area and enjoyed running over to the beach to view the wildlife. First 24 hours we saw 5 different sea turtles and a monk seal - all endangered. The lanai furniture has been upgraded nicely from what is in the site photos. There is a new shopping center very close to the condo with several restaurants we recommend Josselin’s Tapas Bar and Grill. Always enjoy Keoki’s Paradise but were bummed to find my favorite Loco Moco joint in Hanapepe gone.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

This was our fourth trip to Hawaii and this was by far the cleanest condo we have ever stayed in. All the amenities were available for us including snorkel gear, flippers, beach chair, boogie boards and beach towels. The proximity to the ocean didn't hurt at all either. We were able to snorkel approximately 100 yards from our lanai door. This unit gets the morning sun which is a plus since it doesn't get the afternoon heat build up . We enjoyed sitting out the afternoon on the lanai watching the turtles by the shore and whales in the distance. This unit is close to shopping, walking trails and restaurants. It is a 30 minute drive away from Costco. I would definately recommend this facility and hope to stay there again myself on a return trip to Hawaii.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers.

One of the most relaxing vacations we have taken. The sounds of waves and smells of clean island breezes roll through the condo in the evening. Nicely located next to a top-rated restaurant, a botanical garden and upscale private homes. Very secure grounds and steps to the door, parking. The Kuhio Shores condo #103 was a wonderful place for our family's Kauai vacation. It was so clean and comfortable and came equipped with everything we could ask for. The proximity to beaches with excellent snorkeling and surfing was really convenient. It was also an easy drive to all the places we wanted to explore and we loved the constant cooling breezes. This was the most amazing vacation we have ever taken in Hawaii. The proximity to the ocean was closer than anywhere else we have ever stayed. We relaxed to the sounds of the ocean and the sights of sea turtles swimming within feet of us. The condo was recently remodeled. The tropical decor was gorgeous and the cleanliness immaculate. Several times a day we snorkeled in the bay just out front and saw hundreds of tropical fish and other sea life. We can't wait to return to Kuhio Shores #103.Did you find this review helpful? About the owner: We are a family of 5 who love the beach and enjoy spending time with each other. We met 15 years ago while lifeguards on Southern CA Beaches and now fill our time with our teaching/coaching professions and with our three adventurous children. Together, we especially love surfing, snorkeling (anything in or around the ocean), hiking and traveling.

The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
We enjoy watching sea turtles swimming around while making breakfast in the kitchen and sighting breeching whales while lounging on the shaded lanai in the afternoon. We also enjoy the freedom of having a groundfloor unit allowing direct access to the beach and ability to spread out the lounge chairs on the lawn. When taking a break from swimming with the turtles or exploring nearby beaches & waterfalls, we spend time watching our children look for shells and play in the tidepools while we're on our lanai or inside the property even (we really are that close to the water!)
