Near Brignoles, 45 minutes NW of Saint Tropez, 1 hour from Nice towards Aix-en-Provence (45 minutes).
The house, Maison du Commandeur, built in 1799, is a typical Provencal burgher home. All rooms are tastefully furnished with French antiques and Oriental rugs, complemented with comfortable sofas and new bedsteads.
Maison du Commandeur is our second home and not a "rental property." You will stay here with the extra ambiance that only a real home can give you.
Ground floor: Trattoria, living room, kitchen and dining table for 14 people. WC with wash and dryer, storage room with bikes and boules.
First floor: 3 bedrooms, 1 with 2 single beds and 2 with queen-size beds, bathroom, and a small dressing room.
Second floor: Master bedroom with king-size bed and view over the park on the other side of the house. A bathroom and one second living room with a king-size bed in an alcove.
This perfectly maintained house in the very center of Montfort-sur-Argens is an excellent village house for one or two families or a group of up to ten persons. You will find the true Provencal feeling in this small charming and very friendly Provencal community. Convenient to all that Provence has to offer and 45 minutes drive to all the famous beaches of St Tropez and Le Lavandou. Public pools and river bath near by and a faumos lake at the "Grand Canyon" some miles north. It is a very idyllic area with much to see and do just in the surrounding.
The village has almost no traffic, but is very lively. The bar just across the street, opens 6:30 in the morning and closes at 8:00 in the evening. Grocery also neighbour, open until late night. Within 50 meters (25 yards) you find the obligatory French bakery, a post office, a small self-sevice shop, and a small restaurant owned by one of the regions famous chefs. Within ten-minutes drive you find half a dozen other restaurants ranging from local specialties to highly recommended cuisine.
You will find a guide in the house, describing places, restaurants, and wonderful day tours to the well known and scenic places this area offers. Idyllic walks in unspoiled countryside just two blocks away. A full description of the house and the area on request!
