The oceanfront cottage is located in the quiet, gated community of Kapoho Beach Lots. Kapoho is a rare treasure of Old Hawaii lifestyle and is the gateway to fine snorkeling, fishing, and beautiful sunrises. It is one of the few Big Island oceanfront communities where one can easily swim with the turtles. The cottage is the ideal place for couples, a few good friends, or a small family looking for a relaxing and fun getaway.
The cottage is right on the ocean and has it’s own private steps leading into the swimming area... only three steps away! ... My Husband & I have stayed at the Kapoho Cottage twice now... and we will be back... It is located in an amazing place... Private, secure... and comfortable... Hotel rooms can cost the same, but without any privacy... this is the way to really relax on your holiday for sure... TQ

Of all the islands we went to (The Big Island, Maui, Oahu) and all the places we stayed -- even a swanky hotel - our favorite time and our favorite place was at the Sunny Kapoho cottage! The best food was from the Farmer's Market in Hilo (Wednesdays and Saturdays) and the KTA Superstores are the best grocery stores in all the islands. (Great variety and price.) Imiloa at University of Hawaii Hilo was spectacular though not quite as awe inspiring as being up Mauna Kea itself -- but almost! We were pleasantly surprised by the naturally heated ocean pool down the street, Ahalanui. Being on the ocean, hearing the waves, feeling the breeze and taking photos of the sunrise was incredibly relaxing. Mahalo for sharing a most genuine, beautiful and peaceful part of Hawaii.

Sunny Kapoho Beach House is the perfect getaway for two or for family/friends. Very clean, well-maintained and includes all the conveniences of a second home. Ocean front with great snorkeling. Quiet neighbors and private fenced-in property. Reservation process was easy and staff were accommodating--quick response via e-mail. We will definitely be back and recommend to anyone needing a relaxing vacation.

My family and I stayed at this rental for the weekend in October 2009 and had a great time. The property was very nice and clean and easy access to the ocean. The best part of the stay was that it made us feel right at home. Very comfortable and cozy at the same time. At night it was so nice and calm listening to the sound of the ocean was one in a million. I recommend this rental to anyone who wants a nice and relaxing weekend away from home. The staff and management for this rental was very warm and helpful.

We stayed in the cottage for our honeymoon and were very pleased with the location. Awsome views and great snorkeling right out your front yard. The neighborhood is extremely quiet and nicely secluded. We were able to explore the Island each day and come back relax and bbq each night. Would definitely rent again when we come back.
