  We were 7 of us, stayed at the condominium.The location and the inside of the place were unbelivable.The owner of the place is a very nice, honest lady. we were very lucky with the weather. If we go to St.Thomas again, we will go to the same place no question about it. We didn't want to leave the place.

  We rented Beachtops this last February for our family of four. We have two boys, ages 9 and 11, and this is our fifth(!) return trip to the Beachtops condo. In our previous four trips, we shared the condo with another family of three. The condo is easily big enough to handle four adults and three children. The location is perfect, as the condo has a beautiful view of Cowpet Bay and the beach, and it is a very short (2 minute?) walk down to the beach. Two of the three bedrooms have balconies overlooking the ocean. If your dream vacation is to go to sleep with the sound of the surf, and have coffee in the morning on a balcony overlooking the ocean and the beach, this is the place for you. The beach is lovely, and is home to both a casual restaurant (which the kids love) and a more formal restaurant that serves wonderful seafood right on the beach. In addition, Beachtops has pool privileges at the nearby Elysian resort. The pool is GREAT for kids, with a central "island" with a waterfall entrance. Most days the kids wanted to spend more time in the pool than on the beach. Both the pool and the beach have bars serving great frozen drinks with nice happy hour afternoon prices. In addition, the Ritz is only a five minute walk away, and is another great place to go for a fancy meal. Our family really enjoyed breakfast at the Ritz. There is no problem just walking in wearing relatively casual clothes--they want the business at their restaurants, and the beach is public. I don't think visitors are allowed to use their pool, however. In this last trip, we spent a little more time on the Ritz beach, and rented some of their water equipment. It was a very enjoyable afternoon. The condo has a great kitchen. We never had any problem with the appliances, and we would make about half our meals inside the condo. Being close to Red Hook, there is a large grocery store a short drive away, so big trips to the store can be supplemented with quick trips to buy more milk and rum. Being located near Red Hook, Beachtops is ideally situated to explore the best beaches on the island. Our favorite beaches (outside of Magens) are all on the east end of St. Thomas. Magens Bay is still an easy drive away, and our trips to St. Thomas wouldn't be complete without at least two afternoons on the beach at Magens. Of course, Red Hook is also the location for the ferry to St. John. This makes it easy to spend days on St. John, and then return home to the Beachtops condo.

  First and foremost, the beach picture makes it look a distance...it isn't...it's right below the unit-in seconds, you are down to the water....or pool, or bar/grill or restaurant. Couples or Family, it will work for both. We were 3 couples, had plently of space, privacy...AND OUR OWN BATHROOMS.....Just go, take just a few cloths, there is a washer/dryer there, so pack light. We also did a day sail with Morningstar Charters, another must... When we go back, and we will, I'll make sure I check out this units availability again, when you got something good, stick with it right????

  Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers.

  Beachtops is perfect in every way! The pictures do not do it justice. The location feels very homey and safe, so no worries! Just steps from a very quiet beach overlooking the Yacht Club. Just a short walk over to the Ritz-Carleton. Ainsley's Beach Cafe and Robert's both offer great dining options. Note: you will want to rent your own car. This place is simply sublime! Can't wait to go back :-)
