Our weekend at the house was everything we expected - no hidden surprises, nothing missing - just perfect! The home was as warm and cozy as the pictures and website represent. Making dinner every evening just after sunset was amazing, (that's cause you're on the beach when it's setting). Morning walks on the beach is the only way to start the day here - it sets that relaxed pace. Everything is clean and tidy, easy walk to town and back with rented wetsuits and paddle board, sandwiches or groceries. The Owner is as friendly and helpful as I could have asked for, being this was my first time renting VRBO. I highly recommend Stinson on The Beach as a relaxing getaway, and am looking forward to returning again!!!

We spent a late summer weekend there with my walker-using 90-year old mother and two dogs, and it was heaven! Both days my mom doffed one of the big floppy hats provided and went and lay out on the warm sand amongst with the beach sights and sounds, and was happy as a clam. The gas grill came in handy when we realized we'd bought the wrong type of charcoal. The beds were very comfortable. The hot outdoor shower was great. There were baggies, birthday candles, matches etc in the drawers in the kitchen. From the living room you could view the waves, frisbee players, dogs, surfers, etc. The beach itself has fine, clean sand and has a low slope, which makes it good for walking and running. The house is not especially well-insulated, but a powerful heater, doors and windows, and electric blankets more than compensated. One micro-quibble: larger coffee mugs would have been nice. Besides that, heaven on earth, and we plan to return.

The house is very comfortable, and we loved being right on the beach. Thank you for the suggestion of buying groceries before getting to Stinson as the prices are steep. Also it was helpful to know there is no gas station there. i would like to know more about the towns around Stinson. The Cafe in town was wonderful.

This is my families' favorite vacation spot. We love being able to sit on the beach all day and into the evening. It is great to wake up when the beach is empty and watch as the throngs of people arrive and then at the end of the day to have an empty beach to enjoy. The amenities are comfortable ... nothing too fancy but the kitchen is stocked with everything you need to make a simple dinner. There is wifi, a nice gas fireplace, laundry facilities and an outdoor shower with hot water. It is convenient to town for ice cream, groceries and there is a video store a block away to quiet the kids after a day of digging in the sand and boogie boarding.

Great Beach Vacation Location

Our family rented all three units and had a wonderful week on the beach. Karen's beach house was charming, and thoughtfully provided the amenities that made for fun in the water and out. We had all ages including an infant, and brought the family dogs. The location made it easy to walk the dogs on the beach, or swim within lifeguard watch, and also to walk to town to get extra groceries, etc. As the first house on the beach, lots of people are enjoying the beach in front of the house, including a volleyball net temporarily set up out front. But we enjoyed the people watching and didn't mind the spirit of active summer vacation around us. Our kids all hope we can do it again!

This lovely home was wonderful for my family. We enjoyed the view and the evening and early morning privacy. I was impressed at how well appointed it was and yet not overcluttered. Plenty of towels and lots of kitchen goodies. Lot's of parking and the best location in Stinson. The home was clean from top to bottom.

Our stay at beautiful Stinson Beach was perfect in this fabulous home - right on the beach. We have two-year old twins and they loved every minute of it. It was so easy to keep an eye on them - the entire property is gated. And when they wanted to go on the beach, we just walked outside the back gate. The home, especially the kitchen, was so well stocked with amenities. And the decor is so charming! We will be back next summer, invite the extended family, and rent out the additional two apartments above the main house. Can't wait!

Karen, Your beach front home is perfect for anytime of year. Your palce is wonderful and cozy, way behond the photos. Being from SF the weather has been unpredicatable to say the least during May 2011. We arrived June 3rd late afternoon to decent weather, unpacked, took a walk and started the BBQ. The storm Friday night was wicked,but the sound of the waves and nice fire set the mood to relax. By noon the skies had cleared to enjoy the beach and get our feet wet. The hot out-door shower was amazing to clean up. I'm a foodie by heart and the house is stocked with all you cooking needs. The one thing we forgot was coffee, but a Cafe up the street was open, and worth the morning wake. We also, rented La Paz which wonderful as well. We will be back.

I have spent a lot of time at Stinson Beach growing up and this house is by far my favorite. The owner is responsive, the house was very well maintained, and the location could not be better. Definitely consider this for your next getaway.

Fantastic Family Get Away

My husband and I have stayed at this great quintessential beach house, located RIGHT on the beach regularly for the past five years. We love the location because we can be on the beach in less that 20 seconds, and easily stroll to town for a bite, surfing gear, an ice cream cone, or to enjoy the cafes and park. The floor plan and sleeping arrangements work well for family members who come and go at their convenience, and our dog is welcome, at the house and beach. The yard in front is enclosed which is important -- we don't worry about our dog or grandkids wandering away. The large front room windows make it easy to keep everyone in sight. Everyone has a blast -- walking the beach, chasing waves, reading, gazing at the waves, enjoying sunrises and sunsets, and everything in between. This place is our home away from home -- cozy and comfortable! Can't wait for our next visit!

We recently spent several days at Stinson on the Beach. We had my elderly mother, our teen daughter and our Finnish exchange student. Everyone was very comfortable and loved the location of this vintage beach house. It’s right on the beach yet feels very private. One windy day my mother and I especially loved sitting in the sunny side patio. Our dog loved the walks on the beach with us. The house is very comfortable and relaxing, we appreciated the original art and special touches and personal care that are taken with the house. We especially enjoyed being able to walk right out onto the beach. Strolling up to town was a breeze; we didn’t need to use our car at all. The fast DSL Wi-Fi allowed us to stay connected. Next time we plan to rent one or more of the other units so more family and friends can join us in this special place. We live locally yet appreciate the feeling of “getting away from it all”.

Leaving Stinson again, with such a heavy heart. It must be our fourth time here, and it never gets any easier. There is only hope that the return will be swift. Karen the beach house and experience was even better than I expected. The beds are as good as 4 star hotel beds and we slept so well. The house has excellent furnishings as well as wonderful surprises like the drink shaker. We were very comfortable and pampered. The best was the safe and easy beach access for 2 physically challenged people. I was confident to walk on the beach alone to watch the sunrise. A piece of heaven! We hope to return soon and often. My family and I have rented vacation homes on various beaches all over California. This was our first time at Stinson and by far our favorite beach and beach house thus far. The house was perfect for us and our dogs. RIGHT on the beach and the beach was dog friendly, which is important to us. At low tide in the morning there were so many shells, sand dollars, and even starfish that our son was in heaven. The outdoor shower was great for rinsing our sandy boy off after numerous trips to the beach. We had all of the amenities we needed. We especially loved the old beach charm of the house. It was great being able to walk into the little town of Stinson to get coffee and any needed supplies. Some of our family enjoyed trips to Point Reyes, Bolinas, Mount Tamalpais, and Muir woods, which were all in close proximity. I enjoyed sitting at the dining room table in front of one of the picture windows and working on a puzzle with ocean breezes coming through the window. I must say too, that the new heater/gas stove the owner put in puts off some heat. We will be back again and again.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful little beach house with us. Myself, my husband, two of my sisters and a brother in law had a great stay. THE VIEW IS AWESOME. Loved the walks on the beach. All the beds are very comfy. My husband found the outside shower refreshing, specially while it was raining. Thank you for allowing our dogs, it's great being able to bring them with us.
