Welcome to Villa Altamira! This is your private get-a-way in paradise. Situated on a large private lot with spectacular panoramic views of the ocean, gorgeous sunsets and the distant lights of Puerto Rico. Expansive panoramic ocean views surround you. On clear days you can see the Mainland, St. Thomas and Culebra. You can enjoy the whole house including several decks and outdoor areas for relaxing. The rooftop patio has lots of room to lay out or watch the twinkle of the harbor lights and mainland. The Villa is designed for three level living. Everyone will be able to find a quiet spot to relax and enjoy the view, read or sleep in their hammock outside.
A fully private free-form pool with waterfall is great for cooling off. Enjoy the cool breeze-filled nights in the fully screened bedrooms. Newly added air conditioning in each bedroom will cool off those particularly hot days. Better yet spend the day and the beach and the afternoons by the pool. Explore the island then return to your home base Villa Altamira.
The island of Vieques is for those who enjoy pristine uncrowded beaches still unspoiled by crowds of tourists, good local groceries, and stunning natural beauty. The world famous "Bioluminescent Bay" is a popular nature attraction. Many local restaurants offer wonderful food and entertainment. Night lifers need not apply as there are no casinos or crowds here.
Villa Altamira's architecture is traditional Carribean. The property offers luscious caribbean landscaping and ten-foot high ceilings as well as beautiful Spanish ceramic tile floors. The open, airy feeling of the house is enhanced by the large living room, French doors and expansive 12 X 28 foot outdoor deck and tiered design.
What is best here is that you can enjoy the best of Spanish and Caribbean culture while still feeling safe that you are on US territory. Do not forget all Puerto Ricans are US citizens so no problems with visas, customs or monetary change.

Hello Karen & John,
I just wanted to take a few minutes to say thank you for a wonderful location to have our family get together. The only complaint from all, was that time was too short. The layout of the Villa gave everyone 'their space ' and yet be together. Pineapple stole our grandson heart. He was missing his two cats at home in Madison, WI. Now, he wants to return to the Villa to visit his new best friend.
We will do this again and we will stay at the Villa. I organize trips for women and I think your place would be ideal.

Great House and location - very well equipped

This was a very nice house for a family with young adults particularly, as there is a separate apartment (air conditioned) attached to the house. Joe from the management firm met us at the airport, arrange a car for us and gave us tips on the island generally. The gardener/lands keeper Bob was very nice and made sure everything was in good working order. The pool is lovely and kept very clean, and the house has everything you need including beach chairs, umbrella, ice chests. The beaches are the best I've seen, and the bio bay a true unique experience - one of the reasons we went to this island and we were not disappointed. The stars at night are very clear given not much light pollution which we loved. I think the house location on the hill cannot be beat - I loved drinking coffee in the morning and a glass of wine in the evening overlooking the ocean. Relaxing! The island is beautiful, not a lot of night life which was perfect for us. The weather very good despite being hurricane season. Although we only stayed three nights we could easily have spent a week here and really enjoyed it. I recommend the house highly to any age group.

The layout of Villa Altamira is fantastic. My family of 5 adults and 1 child was able to give each other the private space we needed and at the same time have wonderful time of togetherness. Having our own private pool was a big plus, although it could have been a bit cleaner...no big thing. This is a beautiful property with fantastic views, incredable flora and fauna, and a cuddly ginger cat called 'pineapple'. Wonderful spot for a family. You MUST experience the Bioluminescence Bay. We went with RICKY, our guide...he was the best. Ricky is in the process of starting his own buisness. Car rental company B&E very nice people. Bananas resturant...good ( they had no bananas when we got there, that was funny! Blue beach great! Red beach very good! Warning! do not leave ANYTHING unlocked or in your car. Fast hands on this island!
