YOUR HOME AWAY FROM HOME!

Nestled under the canopy of an old-growth magnolia tree, Magnolia Court provides serene garden setting and quiet respite when you need to get away from it all. Although Magnolia Court is tucked in a quiet residential neighborhood, we're also in the Heart of Beaufort -- just minutes from everything you could want to see or do! Located across the street from a park overlooking the Beaufort River, our front garden provides a welcome outdoor retreat to read, lunch, or just enjoy nature. We are in easy walking distance to the Historic District, shops, and restaurants.

Built of the same tabby construction used by the Spaniards who along with the French and English tried to colonized these shores, Magnolia Court has the flexibility to meet the needs of large or small groups of travelers. Depending on the size of your group you can rent one suite or the entire 'home,' since they're enclosed under one roof yet each have separate entrances.

Both the Historic District and Uptown Beaufort -- with antebellum homes, unique shops, and restaurants -- are literally just around the corner. The beautifully renovated Waterfront Park with additional shops and waterfront restaurants are only a five-to-ten-minute walk away. One block to the north of our location is beautiful Pigeon Point Park with hundred year-old oaks, brick pathways, playground equipment, and new landscaping. This is a great afternoon getaway!

A half-mile further down the street is a public boat launch (and we have room on-site to store your boat trailer). Go crabbing, fishing, or just relax and watch the beautiful sunset over the intra-coastal waterway. Beaches --- at The Sands (10 minutes) and Hunting Island State Park (20-minutes) are an easy drive. The historic cities of Charleston and Savannah are approximately an hour north and south, respectively -- making Magnolia Court and Beaufort a great hub from which you can see it all. Parris Island -- the only military installation where both male and female marine recruits are trained -- is only a 15-minute drive and is accessible for tours and graduation ceremonies.

Magnolia Court is fully furnished and is sectioned into one 1-BR apartment and two 2-BR apartments, which may be rented separately or together. Each sleeps between 2 and 6 people. We have beautiful porcelain and/or hardwood floors. Bathrooms have custom-tiled showers and/or soaker-tubs with hair dryers available in each. Washer and dryer, with drying racks are also available.

These full-sized-kitchens have granite counter tops, breakfast bars and all the large and small appliances you will need to cook up a feast. Each kitchen is also stocked with dinnerware, silverware, cookware, and linens. We provide a starter supply of coffee/tea, spices, condiments, paper and detergents.

The living rooms and bedrooms are also equipped with ceiling fans, cordless phones, and televisions with DVDs or VCRs. Beds are available in a range of sizes: from from toddler and extra-long twin, to double, queen, and king-size.

We also provide you with a desk and high-speed internet connections (WiFi), in case you're here on business. And since the weather is usually delightful, we have patio tables and chairs. A picnic table with charcoal grill is also available on-site. Ample off-street parking is also provided, with additional parking for boat, trailers as needed.

Short-term rental rates include bed/bath linens, utilities (heating/air conditioning, cable, WiFi, local phone service). Renters who sign a rental agreement of more than 90 days are exempt from paying the accommodations tax. Longer term rates are available upon request. When available, we may rent for a three (3)-night minimum stay. Rental rates are based on season and quoted according to occupancy. Additional charges may apply for additional guests.

Sorry, we do not allow smoking or pets.

Ahhh! After a hectic but fun wedding weekend for my brother, my husband and I (sister of the groom) got one more day with the place ALL to ourselves! It was a very much-needed and relaxing evening. The groom and his best man were here until Sunday and I can tell loved their stay! It's a great set up and not far to walk downtown. We will definitely to back!

Yes, we have spent the entire month here - or will have by the time we leave in 2 days - Easter Sunday morning - to head back to our home in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Magnolia Court is a good place to stay. The walk to downtown is short and beautiful. Beautiful Beaufort by the Sea is an amazing place even if you have no emotional ties to it. It is truly one of the most beautiful places in the world.

Thanks for a warm, friendly and truly comfortable stay. The recommendations were excellent and the location was perfect for our needs. We had a wonderful time visiting, our daughter celebrated her nuptials in Bluffton and had the reception at Plums. Thanks again!

Thank-you for a wonderful stay at an amazing place! The Magnolia Court's accommodations were magnificent. The weather although dreary at times, but it was fair. We attended the Gullah Festival and watched the Memorial Day Parade. We highly recommend this place to any and all of our dearest friends! Our internet search landed us a "Gem"! Thank you for everything! We really enjoyed this trip from Marion, S.C. Again Thank-you and God Bless!

Thank-you for everything, we couldn't ask for anything more! We are originally from Columbia S. America. This was a dream place for our family! My nephew was graduating as a Marine yesterday. We have had a wonderful time! Thank-you so much!

Wonderful place-very cozy and perfect for our visit to Beaufort for our grandson's baptism and a wonderful Easter Holiday! Thank-you for such great accommodations! We are visiting from Sacramento California, myself, husband and daughter, and from Atlanta Georgia, my son, wife and grandson; there was plenty of room for all of us! Fantastic weather too!

About the owner: I’m a Lowcountry native. I grew up in Charleston and have lived in Beaufort for the past twenty years, so I know the area well. It’s very likely that my ancestors were gypsies or vagabonds, because I yearned to travel from an early age. By the time I finished college, however, I hadn’t been much of anywhere. So when my husband graduated law school, I convinced him to enter the Army JAG Corps on the premise that he could gain valuable courtroom experience, we could travel, and I could improve my command of the German language. (We spent our first five years in Germany.) For the next 20 years we traveled with Uncle Sam, landing in Atlanta for our final tour of duty. Life in the military afforded my family the opportunity to live and visit all over the world. As a seasoned traveler, I understand intuitively what visitors expect . . . and NEED . . . to know. Likewise, life as a military wife and mother has provided me with the expertise to turn each new abode into a real home. I have taken great pride and care in doing just that for our guests at Magnolia Court Guest Suites! While living in Atlanta, we took a week's vacation to Hilton Head and stumbled upon Beaufort on a day trip. What a delight! Beaufort had everything we wanted. It’s a small version of Charleston; coastal (we had been land-locked for years) with salt marshes and palm trees; picturesque with antebellum homes and moss-draped oaks; and rich with a colorful history that predates the arrival of Spanish, French, and then English explorers in the 1600’s. Beaufort is both small town and cosmopolitan at the same time and is one of the most active arts communities of its size I’ve ever seen.

                          Why the Owner Chose Beaufort:
My decision to relocate an antiques store in Beaufort led to the purchase of a 1930’s cottage to house the shop. I wanted a property close to town but not on the main thoroughfare and I didn't want it to 'look' commercial. Not content with just one project, we also acquired the modest two-story tabby building next door to establish something much-needed at the time: fully-furnished, short-term rentals. Thus began Magnolia Court Guest Suites. The building is comprised of 3 units (one 1BR and two 2BR apartments) that can be rented individually or as a whole. We set about transforming this long-neglected tabby structure so that it was both a unified whole that could be rented as such (for wedding parties or family reunions) or as three individual apartments. We provided each with its own entrance, layout, color scheme, and personality. The Suites at Magnolia Court consist of one 1-BR apartment and two 2-BR apartments. The West Indies, which has a king-sized bed, is recommended for sleeping two, but can accommodate four via a sofa bed in the living room. The Manhattan has a king-sized bed in one bedroom and three twins in the other, for a capacity of five people. The Tuscan, has a queen in one bedroom and a double in the other; it is recommended for sleeping four, but can handle six with its sleeper sofa. The total capacity of the complex, therefore, is 11-15. (Several years later, when I closed the adjacent antiques shop, I transformed the cottage into an additional rental. The Craftsman, not shown on our vrbo listing, offers sleeping for six.)

The Unique Benefits at this Townhome:
Magnolia Court has seen a wide variety of guests since we opened in 2006 -- snow birds from the northeastern US and Canada looking to winter-over in a milder climate, professionals working in Beaufort for several months and wanting something more than a hotel room, gal-pals getting away for weekend sojourns, guys golfing, families and couples vacationing, military families moving into or out of the area, people relocating to Beaufort and needing a home while theirs is being built, and local families hosting an overflow of guests for special occasions. We've met so many wonderful people and love seeing many of them come back year after year! My husband and I still love to travel and look forward to his “final” retirement when we can really hit the road. And naturally, we’d prefer to stay in guest rentals – with all the comforts of home – especially if they’re located, like ours, in the heart of the community -- so we can easily walk everywhere. We welcome you . . . to Magnolia Court, your Home Away from Home.
