Hermanus is the premier seaside resort in the Western Cape, popular with both South Africans and overseas visitors alike. Rightfully listed in the book "1000 Places to See Before You Die", Hermanus is famous for its champagne air, 13-kilometer long cliff walk along the ocean front, great beaches, great golf, great restaurants and the world's best land-based whale watching.
"Marine Terrace" is a modern three-bedroom, two-bath condominium in the Eastcliff section of town, midway between the Old Harbour and Voelklip. You are located just steps from the fabulous Marine Hotel and under five minutes on foot from the Old Harbour or to Grotto Beach. You are oceanfront, with full ocean views from the balcony, the sitting/dining room and the main bedroom.
To see the location using Google Earth or Google Maps paste in the following coordinates: 34 24 57.68S, 19 14 45.53E
The Old Harbour is the hub of the town. The area is filled with excellent restaurants, great art galleries, antique shops and all the necessities of life shops as well. The Old Harbour is also (arguably) the best spot for whale watching in a town famous for its whale watching. Listen to the Whale Crier as he sounds out his Morse code indicating the location of the whales. Get your picture taken with him, too. Visit the open-air crafts market. Take a stroll down to town via the cliff path or over lush green lawns.
The Condo is set up for short and long term rentals. It has everything you need from linens to pots and pans to a hairdryer. All you need to bring is your personal effects. Lock-up garage for one car is included plus plenty of secure parking. Satellite TV with UK ans US programming..
For the perfect African holiday, combine your stay in Hermanus with time at my accommodations near Cape Town, a flat in Sea Point, VRBO #50733, and an ocean front house on Blouberg Beach, VRBO #73276. If you are more adventurous, I also have a beach front house near the Mozambiquen resort town of Inhambane (write for details).

Travelling with friends, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in your apartment. Our expectations were far exceeded by what was provided for our comfort. Every detail had been thought about and every need was met! The detail from providing directions to all the extras in the apartment were amazing! The accommodation was very comfortable and the location is perfect, close enough to the beach, shops, bars and restaurants! We felt our experience could not have been any more perfect! I would highly recommend this apartment to others and will definitely be travelling there again! Thank You!
Owner response:Heather & Company - thanks for your kind comments and for your stay. We look forward to having you back. Regards, Marie.

The property was well appointed and in a great locality for all local sport and sight seeing activities. We would definitely recommend this property to friends and reletives. The purchase of an electricity block would have been a problem if the power had cut out as the council offices are closed over the week end and public holidays. Would recommend that the lessor checks that the electricity supply is addequate before a new tenant moves in.
Owner response:Dear Roland (and others): A bit of education here. New construction (and remodels) in South Africa is equipped with pay-as-you-go electric meters. In other words, pay first, use second. You can purchase electricity at the municipality office in town and also at just about every grocery & convenience store. In the event that you ever do run out by no means are you waiting around for the municipality office to open. You can purchase electricity 24/7, from probably a dozen places in town, the closest being 2 minutes from the apartment. Even so, we take steps to ensure you don't run out. We ensure there is a minimum of 300 kWh on the meter at the time of your arrival. Even if you left the lights on 24/7, ran the dishwasher and vacuum all day long, cooked 8 meals a day, this is still more than sufficient electricity for a week. If your stay is more than a week, the meter is checked and topped up as needed. We also keep several electricity payment cards in the apartment, so if by some chance you do run out you can add electricity onto the meter without ever leaving the apartment. Please, worry about the sharks in Gansbaai, the baboons in Fernkloof or that tricky tee shot on the 6th hole at the Hermanus Golf Club, but not about the electricity! Thanks for your stay and glad you enjoyed Hermanus.

Our stay at your Hermanus Condo was most enjoyable. My wife and I found the apartment to be very comfortably furnished, plenty of storage space for clothes etc and equipped with all of the necessary utensils. The apartment afforded beautiful views from the balcony and was conveniently situated for getting into town.
Owner response:Thanks Roger, and thanks for your patience while matters got sorted out.
