Toiny villa description
Maison Rose is an open, spacious villa set into the hill, overlooking the Toiny Beach. Though it is only minutes to the best restaurants and shopping in the Caribbean, guests enjoy complete privacy, whether sunning by the plunge pool or dining outside in the shade of flowering bougainvillea.
Three houses, or West Indies style 'cases', contain the master bedroom and bath, a second bedroom and bath and the living room/kitchen. They are connected by a large terracotta terrace with sitting areas in both the sun and shade which are perfect for reading, relaxing, or watching the sea. Each room is decorated with dark wood furniture set off by colorful fabrics and white vaulted ceilings.
Guests have the personal attention of our French caretaker who cleans daily, as well as taking care of light laundry. She will meet you at the airport and show you to the house to acquaint you with everything. No detail goes unnoticed, with drinks and hors d'oevres waiting for you upon arrival. You may never want to leave.

A rose by any other name would smell as sweet
I'm going to try to be objective here but it's not going to go well, because this place is so astounding that six months later I still haven't recovered from the experience. The villa is cleaner than any hotel I've ever seen, and large enough that you'll still be discovering the place after you've been living there for days. I've used VRBO to rent in the Hamptons before and the pictures ALWAYS stretch the truth, but what you see here is what you get. So that was the first pleasant surprise. It had everything we needed, and more importantly nothing we didn't. Everything looked brand new, and it was impeccably decorated. You could entertain a large group for dinner or, like me, stay with just one person the entire time and feel completely at home. I don't think we left the villa for the first 72hrs. Not even to walk to the beach, which, by the way, is pristine and a 90-second flip-flop down the hill (we went a few times in the middle of the night ;) Following the caretaker down the steps and onto the patio for the first time, I was instantly relaxed (an unusual initial feeling for me). The fridge was stocked with a few french necessities to get us started (who really needs anything else?), and the full market was about an 8 min drive away. We cooked all our meals in the beautiful, open kitchen, and ate (and drank) on the patio overlooking the sea. I don't cook very often, but it actually became one of our favorite things to do here simply for the fact that there was literally no place we'd rather be. I will leave the surrounding attractions for you to discover, but suffice it to say that you can't go wrong on this island. Just bring half the clothes you think you'll need. The caretaker was absolutely wonderful. She met us at the airport when we picked up our car and led us around the island to the villa. She was completely open to our schedule and only came around to sweep up, wash some pots (there's also a dishwasher), make the beds and do some laundry when we were gone. The location of the house is ideal. It's basically as far as possible from town (15mins). It sits on the same beach as the fanciest resort on the island (which we poached for a drink or two - the bartenders are great), so you have prestige going for you. The beach in front is only for surfing, not swimming (riptides) but this keeps the tourists away and enhances the privacy while retaining proximity to the ocean. Honestly, they thought of everything here. Don't say I didn't warn you.
