Experience New England’s shoreline year round at one of Old Saybrook’s most desirable and family friendly areas. Spend the day basking in the sun at the Saybrook Manor Association private beach club, enjoy social events at the Club House.When the tide is low walk along Long Island Sound when the tide is low, or go for a swim at one of the other two beaches which are minutes away.

Need a break from the beach ? Stop to dine at some fine restaurants nearby, Dock and Dine, Old Lyme Inn, Vinny's... Travel just a little further and visit Mystic Aquarium, Mystic Seaport, take a ride with your kids across the countryside, see Beautiful New England the old-fashioned way on the Essex Historic steam train, enjoy a cruise on the Connecticut River or enjoy an evening at the Mohegan Casino. Peddle along the ocean side at sunset, head to the shops along Main Street or take a ten-minute drive to the shopping outlets !

Boaters can enjoy the private boat ramp to take advantage of Long Island Sound, and some excellent fishing. Saybrook Manor beach is located at the mouth of the Oyster River, a marsh estuary which is loaded with waterfowl and shore birds including some active Osprey nests. Kayaks, canoes and small outboard skiffs are the best choices to explore this estuary.


The house is just minutes from two five-star waterfront restaurants, mini-golf, movie theaters, outlet shopping and antique stores. Downtown Old Saybrook offers everything from a French bakery, to an Irish pub, fast food outlets, coffee shops and a fine furniture company. You are just a thirty minute ride to both Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun casinos, Mystic Marine Life Aquarium and Mystic Seaport. Vacation Rental Rates

For the golfers, the Fenwick Golf course is available to the public. The Foxwoods and Mohigan Casinos are 30 minutes away. For the kids, visit the Essex Steam Train or the Mystic Aquarium. There are several Outlet centers within minutes of the home, for your shopping pleasure. For those who enjoy the theatre, consider the Goodspeed Opera House, Ivoryton Playhouse or the Norma Terris Theatre. The Gillette Castle and park grounds are available for hiking and sight seeing.   • My friends and I rented the cottage for new years. The cottage was outstanding and beyond our expectations. We didn't get to go swimming or go to the beach really, but the neighborhood is great and the house is neat and tidy. A great stay overall.

  • During the last two weeks of September 2006, my sister and her family stayed at your delightful cottage. We, the sisters and friends all met there to visit and play with the children. I found the cottage all and more than you advertise. I took tons of pictures, even found the bike on the side of the house, near the chimny (butch&sundance) ingenius. Thank you for the perfect backdrop to a once in a lifetime event.
