Wesser Heights - Large, Lovely Nantahala Cabin, Privacy, Views
Year Purchased: 2008
Why the Owner Chose Bryson City
After a visit to the Bryson City area in October 2007, we decided to look for our own place and purchased Wesser Heights Cabin in January 2008. We come up four or five times a year and enjoy sharing the cabin with our friends and family. We look forward to retiring to this area in the not-too-distant future.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin
We love being so close to the Nantahala Outdoor Center -- we have breakfast at the River's Edge almost every morning! We like taking our dogs for walks at the Tsali Recreation Area or the Wesser Creek Trail, and sitting on the deck enjoying the scenery or a good book. The town of Bryson City is only 15 minutes away, filled with more good restaurants, shops, and really friendly people.
Restaurants, Outfitter's Store, Rafting, River, and Fishing Guides.
Miles of hiking, biking, and horseback trails. Boat ramp to Fontana Lake.

My wife and our two Chocolate Labs just returned from staying at this wonderful home for a week long vacation. The home is everything we were looking for - beautiful accomodations, wonderful secluded setting, close to outdoor activities and a very, very relaxing atmosphere. We especially enjoyed spending time watching sunsets and sunrises out on the deck. Our dogs loved the hiking and even swimming in the river nearby, as well as the freedom to explore the roads around the cabin on our walks. The owners have gone out of their way to provide their guests with very nice furnishings and many little "extras" that made our stay a great experience - thank you!. We will definitely be back.

After spending many hours looking for a cabin to spend a long weekend near whitewater rafting, I found this Wesser Heights cabin and found everything I was looking for (mountain view, hot tub, fire pit, game room, and wifi). Upon arriving at the cabin it was all I expected and so much more! Each couple (3) had their own bedroom and bathroom with a perfect balance of privacy and group activity. We gathered at the dining room table for dinner and around the fire pit in the evening. The activities we participated in were all within a very short drive included hiking, horseback riding, canopy tour, and whitewater rafting. Mid October with all of the leaves changing was a perfect time to be there. If you are not happy at this cabin, you are not happy anywhere!

Our family stayed at the Nantahala Cabin in Wesser Heights and it was perfect for us. Every detail had been attended to of by the owner and the rental agent was so helpful with anything we needed. We will stay again next year and can't think of a better place -- and we looked while we were there and found it the best.
Owner response:Thank you! Springtime in the Smokeys is really beautiful, isn't it? We are so glad you enjoyed your stay, and look forward to seeing you again next year.

As per my 8 year old grandson, "this house was worth the nine hours in the car." His 8 year old cousin said "best house I have ever been in." The boys -- ages 4, 6, 8 and 8 -- really enjoyed the Ruby Gem Mines, Lake Fontana (swing rope into lake), and trout fishing. They all caught trout at Tumbling Waters Campground! Some of us went whitewater rafting with WildWaters at the Ocoee River -- adults only as you will go on multiple Class IV rapids. We all went tubing at Deep Creek; the older kids and the adults loved it, the 4 year old did not at all! We all want to come back for our next three-generation family vacation.

From the Cabin Guestbook: What an awesome experience! The cabin is so nice that it was hard to break away to do other stuff. We rafted the Nantahala and it was a blast! The river is both fun and safe. And you have to do the Canopy Tour (zipline). It's a great experence and the course is beautiful. Don't the the cost get you as it's 2-1/2 hours of thrills and fun. To sum it up, we had a wonderful family week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the most fantastic cabin.

Left the husband and dogs at home this trip and came up with my yoga buddies for our Second Annual Yoga Retreat. Five great classes in four days! (If anyone needs a rundown on the yoga studios in the area, just email me.) Already looking forward to coming back up next month with Robbbie and the dogs to enjoy the fall colors. Debra (Owner)

From the Cabin Guestbook: Great views from the deck and you can't help but relax! This is by far the most well-appointed rental home we've ever stayed in -- the kitchen had everything we needed. Can't wait to bring my sister and her girls next time! We'll be back!

From the Cabin Guestbook: We set out to find a great mountain cabin to enjoy with our two children and our dog during school break. The only problem was that we were a little late looking, and most of the attractive "pet friendly" cabins were booked. We had pretty much given up hope when we stumbled across Wesser Heights! Wow, were we glad that we found this wonderful place! Our family has had the best family vacation yet. Our kids (ages 7 & 9) both agreed that our week here in the mountains was even better than our trip to Disney World. That says a lot coming from them! We loved this area and this wonderful cabin and are already talking about coming back soon!
