Upon arrival we found that the description of the property was very misleading. The photo of the property very plainly stated "view from lake", when actually the photo had to be taken from behind the owners house while standing in their driveway. The owners house and garage actually sits in front of the cottage. The description also stated relax on the deck "with an excellent view of the lake", was also misleading due to looking between owner's garage and neighbor's house to see the lake about approximately 400 feet away. The description also stated "newly remodeled". The only thing we found to be upgraded was the floor and sink in the bathroom and kitchen floor. Upon arrival we were very disappointed that the cottage was behind the main house. Walking in the cottage we immediately smelled the stale odor, however appeared to be clean. The cottage is very dated. While we were there the weather turned very chilly. When I went to get a blanket I found one that was in a plastic bag. It turned out it was an electric blanket that had no controls and was so stiff and rough it was not useable. Also while we were there a storm came through and we lost all power. We asked the owners for a flashlight/candle as it was becoming dark. The owners had ran a cord from their house to their generator in their garage, but failed to accomodate us, the paying guests. We had to listen to their generator while we sat in candlelight. The "air conditioning" consisted of one window unit.To gain access to our boat that was tied to a mooring buoy (very common on Bass Lake) I felt like we were trespassing due to having to walk down their driveway and past their house to get to the pier. We unfortunately had no other alternative but to stay as this was our only vacation time this year. We were very disappointed and would not recommend this rental .
