Manzanita - This craftsman built home will keep you in awe, with floor to ceiling picture windows throughout the entire house with unobstructed views of the ocean and Neahkahnie Mountain. You enter into a spacious living room that features a floor to ceiling stone wood burning fireplace, large vaulted ceilings, TV/DVD and wireless internet. The living room is open to the large gourmet kitchen with granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances and a professional gas cook top stove. The entire family can enjoy a meal together with a dining table for ten plus, while looking out at the ocean. This level also has two master suites, each with a Queen bed and French doors leading out to the ocean patio that offer spectacular ocean views. Enjoy the views from the privacy of the Jacuzzi tub or cuddle in front of the gas fireplace in the master suite. There is also a third bedroom on this level that has a Queen bed. Upstairs is a large gathering/game room that overlooks the living room area and the ocean. This room features a kitchenette and mini fridge with a table for four, great for playing cards or board games. You can also sit on the east facing deck and enjoy the sunrise every morning with a cup of coffee. This level also features three bedrooms. One bedroom with a Queen bed, French doors leading out to a private deck with spectacular ocean views. A second bedroom with a Queen and a Twin bed with French doors to the private deck. The third bedroom is a large room that can double as a family room with two Twin beds and a couple of comfy sofas to stretch out and relax. This room is great for the children! Escape to the hot tub after a long walk on the beach or enjoy a small fire in the custom-built fire pit on the ocean patio. This home is perfect for family reunions and retreat gatherings. Great Beach House.

This is the second year in a row that we rented this house and we were not disappointed. We love this house. It is huge and truly gorgeous. You cannot ask for a better beach location. It is quiet and peaceful. We had a large group and everyone loved the house and the accomodations.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.

I stayed at the Hubbard House in March. I would have given my overall satisfaction a "5" however there were several things wrong with the house. The biggest issue was the heat. The heat was not efficient and after several hours it was still cold in the house. I called and complained several times throughout the night and the best they could do for me was a space heater and firewood (not enough for the size of the house). There were several other things that were broken: the master suite fireplace wouldn't work, the TVs in the other rooms were not connected to cable so you couldn't get a reception, the ice maker didn't work, the wine cooler was stuck at 70 degrees, the pots and pans were horrible, and there were only two wine glasses (not a matching set). For cost per night, not only should the view be nice, but so should the amenities. In this case, great view, terrible amenities. The main reason my overall satisfaction went from a "5" to a "1" is because of how I was handled by Sunset Vacation Rentals. I complained about my experience (mainly the heat) and asked to be credited $250 for my inconvenience (very reasonable request). Instead I was offered a free early check-in on my next visit to the Hubbard House. I didn't feel that this was a reasonable offer since I would have no desire to stay at the same place with all the things wrong. The manager did not offer this toward any other location, only for the Hubbard House. Needless to say, the manager decided that there was no pleasing me and hung up on me. I can honestly say that Sunset Vacation Rentals has lost a customer for life as well as all my friends and family members since word of mouth goes a long ways.
Owner response:The heat in this home is Radiant floor heat and does take some time to warm up. The homeowner has since restocked the kitchen. The wine cooler is not advertised as an amenity and the upstairs ice maker is not hooked up for safety reasons. Unfortunately, this guest was not going to be happy with ANYTHING we did. She simply was looking for a refund (more than $250). This home is by far one of Manzanitas most wonderful vacation rentals! Do not let this review steer you away!!! If you would like to see WONDERFUL reviews let us know! We hope you will try this home out!
