Gulf Retreat II at Indian Shores, Florida was magnificent! The photos on the site represent the condo perfectly. The condo is spacious, immaculately clean, well equipped and very well supplied. The owner was most gracious with his response to any questions asked. We enjoyed the the views, the sunsets, the beach, the gulf, the pool and the friendly people we met at the pool. It was a very quiet and peaceful setting. It was very reasonably priced and convenient to shopping, restaurants and other activities. I would definitely recommend this condo as a comfortable vacation spot. It was a wonderful week.

Another fabulous stay at this stunning Condo. Once again Darryl & Isabel thought of everything and were a pleasure to deal with. The Condo location is truely beautiful with the view over the intercoastal. A very short walk and you have miles of beach to explore. The Condo has everything that you could possibly need for either a short stay or an extended visit. The quality of the furnishings and the standard of decor and cleanliness are second to none. It truely is a privelidge to be allowed to stay in this wonderful home and we very much look forward to many more visits.

We stayed from August 29 until Sept 5, 2011. While looking at several places to stay, Darryl was the first to respond in a quick professional manner. The condo was everything promised, plus more. The view was beautiful, the condo clean and spacious, and it was a quick walk to the beach. Even though there are not a lot of stores close by, it is nice because the area was not busy when we visited. Most nights, we had the beach to ourselves. The grocery store and other shopping is not far away. Going into Tampa took about 45 minutes with the traffic. Great location, very clean and Darryl and Isabel were great to work with.

Recommended for:Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

From the clean, beautiful, nicely-decorated condo to the kind and helpful owners, everything about this vacation was top-notch. My family was ready to stop renting condos forever because of too many bad experiences---old, mismatched furniture, dirty floors and counters, condos that advertise a "water view" which doesn't really exist---but this trip has changed our attitude. This condo feels like a cross between an upscale hotel and a friend's plush vacation home. Everything was more than perfect. Thank you so much Darryl and Isabel.

Perfect property - we would not consider staying anyway else. Ideally situated for exploring North (Clearwater) and South (John's Pass and beyond). We parked up our car on day 1 and used the Suncoast Trolley all week. (7 day tickets are available at the Food Mart near the entrance of the condos for $20) We loved watching the Ospreys hunting on a morning from our balcony/bedroom. We also loved stocking up the waggon with refreshments and going to the beach at teatime and staying for the magnificent sunset (the ocean really does feels like a warm bath) We recommend 'The Waterfront Pub' if you want a relaxing drink/meal (about 10 mins walking distance North from Condo) Darryl - What have you done! This was supposed to be our last trip to Florida - now we want to come back time and time again!

Recommended for:Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This is our third year coming to Indian Shores for Spring Break. We finally found the place we want to come back to! What a beautiful and relaxing condo you have. Our recent January/February 2011 stay was our second stay at Gulf Retreat II. Both stays were vwey enjoyable. The condo description accuratly represents the unit. Darryl's hospitality is second to none. We particularly enjoy the view. We recommend this unit to anyone who enjoys quite accomadations. The stairs up to the condo (3rd level) can be a little bothersome to those like me who have less than perfect knees but the condo is worh it . We have allready reserved for our next stay in the Indian Shores area. Jim & Carol

Darryl & Isabel: Thank you for letting us stay in your BEAUTIFUL condo. It was spacious and open - the views are great. Plenty of room for all 5 of us. We have nto been to this area before and our time here was fun but not long enough! Fort DeSoto Park (North Beach) was great - abundant shells, sea urchins, sand dollars and "close up" dolphin sightings. The kids said "What a WONDERFUL day that was". The gift basket was much appreciated as well as your hospitality! We consider ourselves very fortunate to have found your place and hope to come back!

Dear Darryl and Isabel, Thanks for laying on the record-breaking temperatures(!), 93°-99°, as well as a superb condo. Stepping in and looking through the wide windows wa like watching a wide-screen movie... 24 hours a day. What a view and what activity in the inland waterway. We were amazed at the diversity of birds large& small, their hunting differences for the fish and the constantly jumping fish themselves. And, of course, the magic of dolphin, many times in groups of up to 4. Better than a nature park and all in comfort and shade on the balcony. Similarly inside (just who else can watch all this activity from their bed?) all so apcious and comfortable and so well equipped. Like the garage "car cooler spot" with the door opener (not all rental provide this). Beach just yeards awaywas great, but much better to stay on the inland side. All in all the whole family was impressed and delighted by it all. Pity it was not endless!

We recently stayed in unit two (January 2010). Our stay was most enjoyable. The Condo is beautiful and well stocked. The balcony/bedroom view is as good as it gets with the boats, dolphins and wild life providing some leisure entertainment. The view at night with the lights reflecting off the water is also enjoyable. We liked it so much we have rebooked again for next year.

I have stayed at your beautiful condo a few times and it's been perfect every time! I love the view from the living room and master bedroom overlooking the intracoastal waterway. It's so relaxing and a perfect home away from home. The condo is equipped with everything you need for a short or extended stay. The bed is really comfortable and I love that there is a DVD in the master bedroom. The main living area has high ceilings and a nice open feel. Having internet access was key for me and I never had issues with the connection. I highly recommend this condo for your next vacation. Thanks for everything!

Our family had a great time at your beautiful condo. The views were superb from the balcony where we saw many different kinds of wildlife. We also caught many fish from the dock right next to us! The condo was very clean and comfortable with all the amenities from home, including a computer! Isabel did a great job decorating the condo! We have stayed at several different condos in the Indian Shores area, but this was by far the nicest! The location is fantastic, with wonderful views of the intercoastal waterways. This was a perfect first experience in Florida. Darryl and Isabel are great host. The property was better than described and very clean throughout. We couldn't believe another family had just left earlier the same day, just spotless. The size of the rooms are understated by the pictures, very spacious with a great view of the waterway from the kitchen,dining room,living room and master bedroom. The beach was a short walk but I think my sons spent more time fishing from the private pier on the property than anything. The location was close enough to the attractions of Clearwater to the north and Johns Pass to the south and still be secluded , quite and very private. The owners live on the property also, which gave us a certain peace of mind if anything was to go wrong, but nothing did. More than all the amenities of home. The refrigerator having an ice dispenser was great and my wife loved the washer and dryer, so we didn't have to carry home a weeks worth of dirty clothes. The TV's in each room were a nice touch as was the computer. And we didn't have to worry about our truck with the private garage. We will surely recommend this property to anyone wanting a well maintained, quite, clean and spacious place to vacation and relax.

Everything was perfect! The views of the intracoastal were beautiful and it was nice to sit on the balcony and watch the boats pass. You'll find everything you need for cooking. Darryl and Isabel made this a great experience for us since we were renting for the first time in Florida. We stayed for the month of Feb. and the condo certainly lived up to all expectations. They obviously take pride in their condo. It is beautifully furnished and they have put a lot of thought into providing everything needed for a wonderful vacation, starting with a welcome basket. We've been back home a week now, and are left with fond memories of our time at your vacation home. We found everything to be as advertised--fully equipped, very spacious and beautifully decorated, VERY clean, and well situated--well back of the main road, only a short walk to the beach in one direction, and overlooking the waterway in the other. Even the dolphins were just where you said they would be! The only surprise was the wonderful gift basket that awaited us on arrival. Thanks so much for your kind hospitality. Many thanks Darryl for alowing us the use of your superb condo for our vacation, it is so ideally situated along Gulf Blvd and is such a nice and quiet location but just across the road from the beach. We had several nice walks up to the waterfront Pub for dinner and it is only a short drive to Clearwater to the North or to St Petes Beach to the South. It was so nice to sit on the private pier and just soak up the atmosphere and the wild life it was a joy to see the dolphins swimming by.

I can not begin to express how pleased me and my family were to stay at this lovely condo. It has everything we needed including baby gear so that we didn't have to haul that extra stuff for hefty airline fees. The view off of the third story deck and master bedroom is incredible both day and night. The dolphins visit every morning in the intercoastal waterway. There is a large cart for hauling chairs and accessories to the beach making trips to the beach easy. The condo has many amenities such as cable in each room, DVD, VCR, computer, phones and washer and dryer. The area is delightful with plenty of restaurants to walk to as well as Clearwater Beach several miles up the road. We would love to rent here again and hope we can make it happen.
