"Morgans Escape" is a comfortable beach house located 200 yards from the beautiful private beach of Morgantown. You can sit on the swing or an adirondack chair on the front porch (38 feet long) and listen to the ocean waves while enjoying fantastic Gulf views - or watch the children swim in the pool located right next to the house - or ride your bicycle along Fort Morgan Road, play tennis or just walk along the beach and collect shells. You can do as much or as little as you want in Fort Morgan.
Fort Morgan is a 20 mile peninsula bordered to the north by Mobile Bay and to the South by the Gulf of Mexico and Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge. There are several world class golf courses located within a few miles of the house (Kiva, Peninsula and Plantation). The NEW Gulf Shores Marina & Tacky Jacks restaurant are just down the road where you can launch your boat or book a fishing charter. You can also take a ferry to Dauphin Island for a day trip (visit the estuarium or just ride bikes). Other area activities include shopping at Tanger Outlet Mall, visiting the waterpark in Gulf Shores, going on a Dolphin cruise, or playing miniature golf.
There are many excellent restaurants in the Fort Morgan/Gulf Shores area and a wide selection of Arts & Antiques stores in the city of Fairhope - about 45 minutes away.
"Morgans Escape" has a large kitchen and living area with plenty of room for the family to visit and have fun. Two bedrooms open to a back deck with ocean views. There is a large dining table and a card table for games. There is a swing, picnic table and hammock under the carport. Dogs and children are welcome. These are pictures I've taken over the years.

The single most enjoyable thing we love about our beach house is the front porch. Family and friends gather there and visit for hours. Things we do not take time to do at home. We seldom watch TV at the beach but we do enjoy music.

Wonderful house with an open floor plan - very well equipped kitchen and the best part of all, a very close walk to the beach. And yes, the front porch IS awesome. Morgantown is also close to Bon Secour Wildlife Refuge for hiking, and Fort Morgan road now has wide enough shoulders for cyclists to ride to the Gulf Shores area and to the fort or ferry to Dauphin Island. Gulf Shores is less than 20 minutes away so don't make momma cook too much - restaurants we recommend: Sea N Suds, Shrimp Basket, Cobalt, Tin Top, Lillians's Pizza, Vallartas and the Beignet place in the shopping center at 59 and Fort Morgan Road. And that's just a few of the scores of great places to eat. We also like Bellingrath Gardens near Dauphin Island, the Naval Aviation Museum at Pensacola, the Weeks Bay Estuary and pitcher plant bog, Fort Blakely and Gulf State Parks. LOTS TO DO IN THE AREA (or not if you just want to watch the waves roll in) I also learned the Gulf water is about 70 degrees in March but you get used to it quickly and can stay in for quite a while. Bring your boogie board!

This was our first trip to the Gulf Shores area and we will definitely be back. The house was perfect for our family of 6 (two in highschool and two in elementary school) and the neighborhood is very peaceful and pet friendly. We spent hours on the front porch and on the beach. It's a very short walk to the beach. If you want to go out to eat a lot and see sights, waterparks, movies, etc., you'll be looking at a 20 to 30 minute drive to most places. We enjoyed the house and its surroundings so much that we only went into Gulf Shores twice during our week's stay. That was plenty for us. We felt fortunate to find this home and would definitely stay there again. Our thanks to the owners for doing such a fine job of equipping their beach house and making guests feel right at home.

House was in very good condition. We've rented several beach houses and the overall condition was one of the best. Kitchen pots and pans were in good condition and are a decent quality compared to other rentals. Plenty towels provided. Everything worked, only thing we had to do were change a few light bulbs (which were available in the house). One negative - the beach chairs they provided were in terrible condition - good thing we brought our own. Same with the BBQ pits - they were pretty much unusable. The beach was fine - no oil smells at all. Beach looked wonderful but there were a lot of small sized tar balls just 2-3 feet into the water.
Owner response:We do not furnish beach chairs. Any chairs found there were left by the previous occupant. We will make sure that any such items that are not in working order are removed from the property. In late March or early April of each year, we stay at Morgan's Escape to make sure that all is in working order and replace missing items before the vacation season starts. We strive to make sure that your visit is nice and that you will want to return.

This was one of the best vacations we have ever had, and Morgan's Escape contributed so much to that experience. The moment we opened the front door, I could tell it was going to be a terrific place for our family. It's sunny and open and furnished in a beachy-chic and comfortable way. It's kid and mother-in-law friendly, too. There was plenty of room to spread out, but great places for togetherness as well. LOVED the big farm table, the nice kitchen island, the big front porch with the swing and comfortable Adirondack chairs. We also loved the proximity to the beach (access was practically across the street) and having the community pool just next door (plenty of foliage means noise is never a problem and keeps privacy between the porch and pool). I was so sad when our week was up and cannot wait to return some day.

I stayed in this house in 2003 and LOVED it. The house is nice, right by the community pool and steps to the beach. The dolphins swim by every morning and night on their way to DISL. I am from Alabama and have stayed all up and down the gulf coast and this was my favorite vacation spot!

WOW! What a nice, relaxing, long (but not long enough), weekend. This is a gorgeous, quiet, huge, and clean place to stay. It is the perfect distance from the beach. Only a few short steps and you're on the walkway to the beach! I had a really enjoyable time. Thank you so much!
